    While listening Malawati it seems that a sun is setting, the farmer is returning from field and walking towards home, thinking about what to do? The distance is to long but he has to walk........ What a wonderful expression by Kumar Gandharva that the picture of that mood of the Raga become rise in front of us....... Sadar Charan Sparsh

      That is an interesting take. The lyrics of vilambit bandish (Chala re chala) are Kumarji's interpretation of Meghdoot.

    Thanks for sharing. This concert must be just before he passed away in Jan 92. The world will never be the same without Kumarji.

      This concert was on 12 January 1991 at Vadodara. I was present there ans have recording of the same.

    I'm searching for the items of a set of two audio cassettes ,which was titled ' Geet Varsha '. Perhaps that was a concert songs on the occasion of punyatithi of Pt B D Palluskar .

    Shri Vasant Acharekar passed away in late seventies. So either the tabla accompanist here is his son Suresh Acharekar, or this recording is from an earlier time, much before 1992.

    Ratiya Daravan Lago Ri Ma,Sanjake sathe Tu,Mai Ka Na Bhejori II....This is Raag Sanjari.Trital Drut.Its Vilambit Ektal Bandish is Sanja Sun Lehori,Sun Leho.Details are in Kumarji's Anoop Raag Vilas Book

    This raga is almost equivalent to the Carnatic Raga Saama; There seems to be some different flavors to 'Nishada'- probably because of the folk influence but it is very very close
