The brief clip of Care from Leicester is just so emotionally beautiful.
No other band can conjure such magical music.
Well done Marillion- best band ever !!!

My first ever show was the Brave set in Pontins 2002 at the first ever Marillion Convention, later to be named "Weekends". I was totally in tears by the end of The Great Escape. That whole album played live took all of us on an emotional journey. They totally nailed it! Not many bands ever have that effect on me on studio albums, but especially live.

Lucy's face at 32:32 conveys so much. Years of dealing with rockstars, frustration, stubborn people, taciturn guitarists, clumsy singers, band politics, general shenanigans, all adding up to a big fat "see, this is what I deal with every day!" We appreciate your work Lucy... It can't be easy!

So much fun watching Marillion Monthly! Hope you will be careful with spoilers in the next episode though when it comes to highlights of the first Marillion-weekend ;-) I will be going to both Haarlem and Padua, and love to be surprised! Enjoy your first Marillion-weekend in 2023!

Maureen Thackway. Hello I've just started listening to Marriilion and I am 69 . Just love all the music and cheers me up because I suffer with depression and makes me feel so much better. Love listening to monthly interviews.

I’m really enjoying these monthly videos and updates from the band! Thank you for doing them!
I’ve got a question: any idea when the remaster of Holidays in Eden will be available on Apple Music in the US? I’ve got the deluxe CD but AM is my main way of listening to music and I need to be able to listen to this awesome remaster more!

Thanks for another fab interview Lucy. Loved the clip of "This Strange Engine", really hoping it will be in the weekends as I am going to my first in Leicester, it reminds me of my Dad who was an engineer in the Navy. 🙂 Ps, Steve has fab tv choices too!

I've had memorable experiences at four Marillion weekends I've attended in Montreal but this year will pass (sadly). I will have hip surgery and it would be impossible for me to endure three nights standing since I missed the Balcony sale. But also this year have other plans to explore new places, so if you are planning to go to one of the conventions, do go, it is worth it! 🙂

February's episode was just as amazing and entertaining as the first one. I loved seeing Care live from Leicester as it reminded me of my 60th Birthday and one of my favourite Marillion gigs ever after over 40 years. I'm really looking forward to the Rothery and Hackett collaboration and to hear the band will soon be heading into the studio to start working on new material was the icing on the cake. Keep up the great work, I can't wait for the next edition in March.

This is just one of the reasons I love Marillion. You know the band has its feet on the ground when the guitarist's favourite moment is not something like a crowning achievement on their long career, but an assumed mistake turned into something shared, a rough diamond that the band played their hearts into and ended with a great performance!! Marillion are HUGE!!!

MS has left this long-time(37yrs) Marillion fan homeless, the past 8 mos, and if not for these five, special characters; and the beauty/brilliance of their music that has kept my mind occupied all these months, years for that matter, I'm sure I would be hopelessly lost. My sincere gratitude!!! What an amazing community!

Marillion Monthly is another great innovation of the band to connect with the fans, after crowdfunding and the Weekends. I read the other fans comments, and it is amazing to see that some of us have a similar relationship with the band. I was 17 when I was introduced to the band in 1987. I am now 53 and still listen to many albums religiously. Brave for instance, which came out 2 weeks before my father died at age 45. Everytime I listen to it, I am flooded with emotions that reminds me of this tragic episode in my life. The Great Escape is a song that makes me cry everytime I hear it. So does the solo on Easter. Thanks for being in my life for the last 35 years! (Steve, from Quebec, Canada)

Thank you for this video. Excellent as always. For future monthly videos, I'd love to know more about what each member of the band loves, be it movies, books or other music. For instance, I'd love to know what music they particularly enjoy listening to these days. I'm thinking of currently-active bands/ artists. Thank you so much, Marillion, for making some of the most beautiful music I know. Been a fan for 36 years! Love from Paris, France.

Excellent video - have been watching/listening to Marillion since 1983 (Ian's first gig in Aberystwyth I think?) and it's great to hear all this insights into the band. How about a 3 minute clip from a band member each month with a quick lesson on a particular Marillion riff/solo/chord change/ drum fill whatever ?

Last time I chatted to Steve was at the back of the old Marquee in Wardour Street , he was with Jo and they were mixing Misplaced at the time....I haven;t been in the country for a lot of the time since then but was last at the video shoot for Hooks In You as I lived in Brixton at the time (Moles Club was brilliant gig too...gotten to chat to H a lot then, such a nice chap). My question is what happened to Angie? She got me into so many of the small venue gigs in the early 1980's? This time really looking forward to Leicester, I am disabled now (can;t raise it like I did at the Incommunicado video shoot!!!) and will be watching from the balcony. Love the broadcasts you are doing...thank you as I feel I can finally reconnect with the band I have loved since 1983 (second night Hammy Odeon).

Shout out to Vijay! Always a pleasure to hear from a fellow Toronto-based Marillion fan. I've been following the band for 35+ years (yep, I'm old) and I have always felt that our fair city doesn't get quite enough love from the boys. I mean Montreal is one of my favourite cities in the world and there is clearly a strong fan base there. I totally understand why the band would have a soft spot for MTL. I mean they even wrote a (great) song about the city. That said, there is a huge and loyal fan base here in TO (including such fine people as you I) and we're a mere 5 hour drive away! Thoughts?

Thoroughly enjoyed watching my favorite guitar player enjoying himself, and spilling the beans on working with Hackett. The monthlies are excellent. You know what would be awesome, is if on the website you can add an American store with dollars, so I can easily buy merchandise and rent videos. What I'd like to see if Steve demoing his pedal board, and also hear the story about his main Squire guitar. He's been playing it since the 80's,

Congratulation for your one year old baby "An hour before it's dark!
I love this new album very much!
BUT, what I do not quite understand - why does h sing these words:
I seen the future! It aint orange, it's green
I been listening to Greta T
    Begins with a letter C
I'm going to be a friend of the earth
...and at the same time you hold on to this "cruise to the edge" concert traveling trip, when everyone knows that this way of traveling is anything but sustainable!
Could someone from the band please explain to me, why you are doing this cruise again in 2024?

I am sure you must have, as I am sure that they approached you for permission! I am disabled, so I find it problematic to get to concerts, but I wish you all the best for the forthcoming conventions. My best marillion memory is seeing Steve H coming out of a toy shop in Hanley with a laughing box in hand. It was on the Seasons End tour 1989.
Later, H used the box in the introduction to a song, and I can't recall whichever song ?
Later, I got to meet the whole band when they came out the stage door to mingle, chat, and sign stuff. Lovely memories.

So good to get to listen to the band on a personal level, now that these monthly shows have started. I've been following the band since 1982 and have even managed to take my daughter, who was very impressed, to see a show in Dallas on the FEAR tour when we lived in Texas.

Great episode. I have a question. What do the band think about the fan sites and podcasts that seem to have sprung up recently? For example, do they listen to the excellent Between You And Me Podcast?

Going to lesta and PZ, first time in pz since 2011. Montreal does sound good too, so if I win a pair of tickets we'll head across the Atlantic!

Tried so much to enjoy Steve Hogarth´s voice but I just can´t. Jim Kerr has what Hogarth doesn´t.
