    I have used mine for a ten week period on the Clyde fjord whilst kayaking. It took all of my kayaking gear and loads of room to change in and out of my dry suit when it was raining. I used another ground sheet as well as the one supplied to put my dry bags on inside. The tent when packed wet and put back up took no time at all to dry out (300 days of rain a year on West Coast) and withstood gale force winds with no thought that it would take off. On those days when the weather was so bad I used a tarp, sleeping bag and bivvy bag only. I recommend this tent even if you are camping for one. Stay safe. 🌹

    Elixir 2 is my motorbiking tent. Really like it but not sure I'd use it if hiking. Tend to go minimal if hiking as it's about the walking rather than setting up camp. Which means gadgets are perfectly acceptable when camping, as "camping" is about setting up and sitting around. What else you going to do?!

    • @Martin-8oll
      @Martin-8oll 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi@@mattpurtill1162, I finally bought the Elixir 3 and took it in Scotland Borders 4 Abby Route (around 110km) the 3 weights a little more but inside is like a palace that allows you a lot of room to sleep, change and hang your clothes. We may try it with a baby. In this case it makes even more sense to have the 3. If I was on a longer backpacking trip with elevation I would probably choose the 2. Hope it helps

    • @mightbelost
      @mightbelost  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is very big but once strapped to my bag you hardly notice it. I didn't travel far, mile or so. I wouldnt use it if hiking a long distance but for campsites or short journeys it's worth the weight for the comfort I think.
