Such a nice lineup of pens Garry. I'm not too surprised at the #1 considering how much you've said you really like the P20 in past videos. For me how I choose a particular pen to write with is a chaotic random choice in what I happen to feel like grabbing at any one time!! No Rhyme or Reason. I do not have any more pens in the pipeline. The last one I had ordered had arrived on Mon. & it's a Monteverde MP-1 with a 1.1 mm stub nib. My initial thought is I'm going to use it with this years Inkvent calendar. I'll draw up just enough ink to write the days journal entry, and swatch the ink. It may work out great, or might stop me in my tracks with total disaster, hard to say!!
somehow I seem to have gone down the vintage pen route with my collection. I tend to choose just on what haven't I used in a while - so inked up a few Sheaffer student/cartridge pens with different nibs, trying out a 2442 on one of my Esterbrook M2s, have an EF version of a Parker VS but also a Jinhao 51a (a copy of the VS) with a fun cracked ice etc. etc. really no organized way I choose!!!
@@jkatkat7950 I keep thinking about trying a vintage pen, but where I live there aren’t any pen or antique shops. I’m not comfortable buying these sort of things of the internet. Maybe one day.
I agree with the rationale, Garry. The Magico was a bit of a shocker, though. For the price the P20 is clearly the winner. I would like to see the final pens in use for the year to be all the winners and for us to decide which is on top. It would be a challenge for sure. Currently inked are: Asvine P20 with Visconti Blue (took the place of my Jinhao X159 that I cracked when it hit the floor) Conklin 1898 Misto Green with Noodler's Navajo Turquoise. I never inked this pen though I have had it for about a year. I don't know why I didn't as it is a wonderful pen in appearance, size and comfort. Leonardo Momento Zero Grande with Private Reserve Chocolat Esterbrook Estie with Diamine Regency Blue Benu Talisman Dragon's Blood with Diamine Wax Seal. New ink and it is holiday card season. Leonardo Furore with a mixture of Robert Oster Deep Purple and Pelikan 4001 Violet. I found the Violet to be too pale and the Depp Purple too dark All of these pens I have not used for a year or more or ever. When these run dry, I plan to fill my Opus 88 Demo, the MaJohn Ti 500, the ēnsso Italia and the Sailor King of Pen. They all need a workout. Oh, what's the secret(s)?
Januarys pens in use will the winners from this year. I’m planning on filling them with 3 of this years Inkvent inks and 3 of the Colorvent inks. I do like the P20.
Thanks!
@@hiltonprice2625 than you so much. Very much appreciated.
