It was great to see your Lamy LX with the gold nib. I have gold nibs on a Safari and an AL-Star. Absolutely transforms the writing experience with these pens.
I kind of suspected the top spot. Love to hear the excitement in your voice as you review these. It's great to have the tools to really enjoy your hobby.
1. Looks like you had a good 2024 pen year, lotsa new pens to be excited about. 2. Sailor's finer nibs can get scratchy. I've been enjoying my Profit with a nib that I got off eBay. I don't believe Sailor makes "soft" nibs anymore. Not scratchy. 3. The only noteworthy pen I bought this year was a KoP. My immediate reaction was wanting to sell all my other pens to buy another KoP. (I've settled down since)
Yes, I did indeed have a good 2024 pen year. I hope to not fall for the next shiny thing so I have more time to explore the pens that came into my collection during the second half of the year. I'm currently strongly considering chopping my KOP. I still want to wait a little longer before making that decision. Sigh. I'm glad that you love yours!
Thank you for sharing your year-end reviews!! I've enjoyed them so much - hearing your thought process, reflections, and seeing all of the beautiful pens.
Thank you for this video. It‘s so fun watching you loving these pens! I have a PGS in with a medium nib and a PG with a Medium-fine. I definetly want to add a PG with a Medium nib. It just feels so good!
I'm totally with you on Sailor nibs. I was shocked I would prefer feedbacky over glassy smoothness. I actually dislike Pilot smoothness as much as I like Sailor feedback. Which is a shame because Pelikan M800 was a Grail, but since it's supposed to be even smoother, it isn't for me. Anyway, thank you!
I think the writing experience is nicer with a smooth Pilot, but results on the page are more precise with a feedbacky Sailor. It's great to have such a choice.
I’ve just ordered my second Leonardo MGZ…..no wait, it’s my third. Because they’re just the best writers. Hands down. Sold a bunch of mine now because i don’t use them as i use the MGZs so much.
One of my favorite combinations this fall has been the Lamy Autumn Pink with Diamine Writer's Blood. I think my top pens for the year in no particular order are any of the BENU Euphoria EF (I have a few, but he the Iced Caramel Latte is my favorite), Lamy Autumn Pink EF, Esterbrook JR PumpkinLatte EF, and any of my Pelikans, I think all are EF, but I most enjoy the M800 Brown that my husband got for me last year for Christmas. That Leonardo is beautiful, Seemownay!
Thank you so much for sharing your favorites. They all sound like great pens. The Benu Euphoria is one of my favorites too, unfortunately I didn’t get a new one this year.
Great video Simone! ❤ I love that Leonardo, and have been eyeing this Lamy for a couple of years now. Will have to get it someday. My top 1 this year was Pelikan M1000.
@seemownay I hope you'll be able to try it before purchasing, then. The F nib is truly special. Just keep in mind my collection is really small, and I skipped a lot of in between models and went straight for the M1000...hehe. I've purchased only 5 pens this year so far. 😁
I’ve got 2 Sailor pro gears EF and they both write beautifully out the box:); my top 5: 1 Sailor pro gear H-EF, 2 Pilot ch912 EF, 3 Platinum 3776 in rouge Bourgogne w gold trim & EF nib 4 Pilot 78g+ EF and 5 Aurora 88Big EF(this is wonderful but would prefer if it had a proper(Japanese) EF nib:)
Please let me know your experience purchasing a pen through Amazon Japan. I’m extremely hesitant in going this route purchasing a Pelikan M800. Thank you
It was advertised on the US site (came up when searching on the .com site) and the only difference was that it said shipping from Japan. I have only purchased from the .jp site once (or twice, but bever pens) before but it worked the same ways as shopping on the .com site.

Thank you so much, I did have a lot of fun filming this video!

You are so welcome!
Timestamp at 15:24, I think it’s the Leonardo! And I’m sooo so glad that you are enjoying the resin on the FC pen!
Yes, I am so happy about it too. I don't think I'll pass it on ever. Thank you so much!
🥹 you’re most welcome!
Loved this video. Can PLEASE review the Leonardo?
❤
I also prefer cartridge/converter pens. And the Pilot 743 is definetly on my wishlist.
Thank you for this video. It‘s so fun watching you loving these pens!

It's so great, I don't know what rock I was living under.
I knew the Leonardo would win, but was surprised by the others!

@@ichirofakename Sure, I'm happy for everyone who likes them.

Wow - what a great testament for the pen. I hope to find another one at next year's pen show.
The Lamy with a gold nib makes my list this year, too! I'm wondering how the Monoc and Leonardo titanium compare in feel?

The Pilot Verdigris is on my wish list for next spring!
It's a lovely and trusty pen.
If a pen has glitter, you may as well go all in and go holographic 💎🌈
Great Top 5 of 2024 lineup! 👍🏼
Thank you so much!
Great video Simone! ❤ I love that Leonardo, and have been eyeing this Lamy for a couple of years now. Will have to get it someday. My top 1 this year was Pelikan M1000.
The M1000 is a classic! And I'd definitely love to try one for a while before committing to the purchase. So glad it's your Number 1.

So fun to see your favorites! I'm hoping to do a similar video soon.
I can't wait to watch!

You are going strong on the EF nib game. Thanks so much for sharing!
@ small handwriting (retired math teacher!:)
The Indigenous People Fountain Pen Sentinelesi by Delta is a beautiful writer . I wonder how you would compare it to the Leonardo?
I have not written with a Delta just yet, so I'm not able to compare them.
That Franklin-Christoph 20p is cute! Is that a special collaboration with a store (does it say on the nib)?
No, this FC was purchased directly from their store. It's not a collab with a specific store.
The nib that's on there right now is a SF Pen Show nib.

great collection
Thank you so much!
Got a used Sheaffer Targa with inlaid Steel Nib - I can stop collecting now.
Now I need to try one. It sounds great - I'm glad you found the best pen for you!
Why don't I have a sesame street pencil board???
Well, it's yours. I'll pack it up and send it your way.
