I've never sniffed the current original denim but I have the original cologne version by Gibbs London (UK) and it's by far my best bargin bin find as it's quality juice and a hidden gem.
Ps, I hope to you got your bottle of gatsby as I thought it would be fun to mark the ones I could find online and sure enough they all disappeared one by one within the day, haha.... I bet they have previously been sat on shops shelves for years with zero interest.

Thank you June... honestly its just who I am naturally and the older I got the more I learned to embrace it instead of hide it... many people go the other way and try and suck up for the free bottles ... i just cant do that... it isnt who I am in my heart and soul.... this has actually been very easy for me as all I have to do is be honest and true to myself ... plus I dont have much a filter so sometimes thoughts just flows out of me 😂😂😂

By the way, Krizia first perfume is a leather chypre. K de Krizia. It runs on Azuree vein. Take out the basil, artemisia and black pepper, add a good dose of orange blossom the smooth out the leather. That’s K de Krizia.
And Fendi Donna, Ramsey! Elegant, warm, spicy and smooth leather chypre. Feels like a good friend that you are comfortable to talk with everytime.

Most amazing leather Chypre I've encountered in my fragragrance journey is Homeros PP (OG) by Ensar Oud by far! I've 18 compositions from Ensar Oud, Homeros definitely the most complex and one of the best one! Opens with a citrusy blast, but most beautiful leather note takes the center stage pretty quickly, then his coveted Oud Royal, musk, florals, green notes and Ambergris comes to play. Due to the use heavy naturals the perfume kept changing over the time. It has layer after layer, every wearing experience is different! Due it's popularity Ensar had to release two three iteration of this later on like Homeros Ambre & Homeros SQ! If one has to know about Ensar's work through one perfume, Homeros PP is the best option IMHO. This perfume is very close to my heart, so you can see my enthusiasm about this here...🙏🙏

Speaking of amazing leathers have you smelled Anna Zworykina Cuir de Russie? Amazing fragrance in the style of Russian Adam or Ensar Oud..... very indi style perfume
No never tried that Cuir de Russuie, I definitely gonna look for that! I've never heard of this one before! I have the Areej le Dore's Cuir de Russuie, a fine leather+musk compo, though it's Tonka bean sweetness in the drydown is a bit much than my likings!

Amazing stuff man, love it. Not sure if I mentioned it before. Have you sniffed an Italian drug store fragrance called Dimensione Uomo by Ciccarelli, OMG IF you love Denim, imagination amped up and more complex. Hope you can find it somewhere.

I can see where you're coming from on Cabochard. Putting both Cabochard and Aramis on the list would mean having two fragrances that are too similar. I love them both. Do you know what year your Cabochard bottle is,? I heard it was changed for a very long time until they changed it back in 2019... which is also the year they restored Polo to it's former glory. I have a 2020 of both Cabochard and Polo and I can tell you the 2019 and up bottles of Polo smell like the OG bottles. And my 2020 Cabochard is amazing,it's one of my go too bedtime scents.
I dont know the year of Cabochard... but yeah thats exactly what I was thinking... i would take the OG Aramis over Cabochard 🙂
Been going heavy on the leathers lately Ram, and your vids have been a big help. I must say Crabtree’s Sienna could’ve made this list. I encourage you to get your nose on it, the quality is really fantastic and it’s somewhere between Fendi Uomo and Gomma but has its own niche, and the castoreum is perfectly done for my taste.
Nice I have never tried anything from that brand Trippler but will put it on the to sniff list mate 🍻
Great video, Ramsey! Now that it's getting cooler outside I'm able to come back to all of these older videos and really dive into them. I believe I have a Puredistance M sample somewhere around, I need to go looking for it and try it out again after watching you rave about it. I have to admit chypres were not an instant love me, but then one day it's like it all finally clicked and now I'm able to sense the true artistry and really enjoy wearing them.
Its crazy how thats happens sometimes isnt it? How a fragrance type just clicks sometimes after months or even years... its literally the reason why I never sell my fragrances 😄
Fabulous leather selection,and how coincidental I also only have one Orto and yes it’s Cuorium, I have sampled Stercus,bottle worthy for sure and Brutus I feel a great easy wear out in public lol😅,great list up to where I gotta run and wear a crust haha .cheers buddy catch ya later 🙏✌️👍

Bel ami vetiver is my favorite scent of ALL time hands down, #1 king of all frags in my opinion. A shame that it doesn't project much and longevity is so so... I wish somebody would make an extrait version of Bel Ami Vetiver

Denim is a lether chypre? I always assumed a chypre, especially a leather one is brutal, strong, obnoxious if you will and i find Denim is soo beautiful and wearable for me.
Yup it is a beauty isnt it ... one of the best value for money frags out there ... if i didnt know Denim sold for 5 to 20 bucks you could never convince me otherwise 😊

Btw, off topic, what do you think (if you know anything) about Histoires de Parfums house?
I have a few from the house I really like 1899 is a take on spice bomb... 1725 is a take on a modern fougere like Invasion Babare but more powdery & without the slight gasoline note & rare Fidelis is a Julien Rasquenet creation with Oud And Coffee & 1740 is an amazing butch old school leather ... ruff leather & immortele that is one of the most under-rated leather scents out there 🤌🤌🤌
@@RamseytheRam So I take it you like them =)) The reason I'm asking is I'm trying to get reasonably priced creative good (ideally great) quality perfume and this house is on my radar for this reason. Wanted to get the expert opinion (aka Ram's opinion) on them to make sure I'm not mistaken about this house.
They are not bad....one thing I love about the house is they do these 15ml bottles that are a great way to explore the house on the cheap... i think you could get all 4 of the scents I mentioned in 15ml bottles for like 100 bucks total! 😅

Yesss, you got Cuoium. My only fb buy at retail this year-worth it.🫶🏻 Gomma is wonderful-as is another Edward Flechier leather (bit woodier, still a chypre) that I know you have, Montana Parfum D’Homme EDT (1989). I would place the Montana ahead of Aramis, ahead of VC and A, ahead of Derby, and of course way ahead of many other things in this genre not in your video, personally. It has a kind of magic. And price to quality/experience-mind blowing. But then it has tarragon, of course-unlike, say, Aramis.☝🏻
