The only thing I love more than flipping through my own old journals is watching other people flip through theirs. I love all of the textures and textiles and crinkly pages and old thoughts and just EVERYTHING! Your journals are beautiful! Thank you for sharing them.
I love that you actually write in your beautiful junk journals and that you emphasize using what you have on hand. And, oh! That little tiny according book inside… very cool. Thank you for sharing.
I love that you actually USE your journals! So many flip-through I see are BLANK. Like all the maker does is MAKE. 😂 But then, you’re a writer, so that helps. Thank you for sharing your journals, scribbles and all. 😍
I enjoy how realistic and approachable your journalling process is. Your 'indie' study journal is somewhat like a 'common place book'. Please keep all your ideas coming, watching you channel grow is so encouraging - Thank you Chelle
You realy got my interest for your creations ... For many years l been thinking how can l protect Wild Nature ... And the best way for me is Not to buy a lot of New Stuff , but use old books l find in second hand shops ... So l will keep my eyes open for you today and in the future ❤️
I really love seeing not just the different journals you’ve used and created, but also that there are pages left open. I’ve finally come to terms with the idea that there’s no one journal that you have to stick to-it can be whatever suits your needs at the moment. I’m also trying to be okay with not finishing a journal. Or better yet, acknowledging when it’s okay to move on to another journal. I used to drag myself to get to the last page but often times would stop journaling all together bc getting to the last page became arduous which took the joy out of journaling. Anyway, really enjoying this series! I’m learning so much from you!
thank you for your words on bullet journaling! i feel the exact same about it. i might pick up Ryder's book now lmao, i need some motivation to keep going with it because it's a planning system that works for me and that i enjoy using.
What a wonderful guide into junk journaling!!! I came across another video first and felt inspired to hunt though my years of collecting books and bits of all things i wanted for a project someday,,,,,,I can literally make 3 journals!!! Im sooo excited to begin.....I really appreciate how honest you are about explaining each version of journaling its made a creative impact on me to move forward....grateful and thankful🤩
I quite like the idea of making a journal on something that I want to learn more about. Watching you going through your journey allowed me feel like I'm on an adventure in Wonderland. Thank you for sharing.
Same about bujo 😅 all the trackers & columns & graphs reminded me of school & homework so I failed haha… another well done video, Bree. Tysm for sharing this with us 🙏🏽
I am really enjoying your videos. You are the first person I have found that actually explains why you make a junk journal. I never really understood that before. I love your videos
Thank you Nancy! Starting any art project with a goal is part of my creative process. And I think it’s the same for others, but they may not want to or be able to articulate that part of the process. I’m glad though that you found this helpful!
I love Carol Ryder's Bullet Journaling book. I also was put off by the elaborate tracking systems and brush lettering. I keep mine simple, with just lines and text for my schedules and planning. I have a separate notebook for journal writing in long form.
it's always a pleasure to follow you and it is never too long - I generally like all styles of "journal art" very much (even if I find it's hard to use old books that have a soul) but the européan bullet really don't inspire me with these calendars to fill in, I find it boring to condition my day - I'm already too much into the headache, I have to escape - thank you very much, you are inspiring and don't doubt your talent , (hope you understand i'm Belgian)- 🙏👍 have a nice day
Thank you Anita! I’m glad you also feel the same way I do about bullet journaling! Your English is great! I totally understand 🥰 thank you for watching!!!
This was a great video overview of junk journals, and journaling in general. I love your style, and your hits and tips. I have to say that my bujo style is very much like yours and depending on the season of my life, it can be very structured, or very minimal. I struggle with the whole idea of journaling, but this year it is one of my aspirations to try and journal at least once or twice a week.
Thank you Laurie! I’ve finally found a planning system that works for me that borrows from bujo, but tweaked to match my lifestyle and preferences. I’m glad I’m not the only one!
That was good. I mainly watch videos re making journals. I see pristine journals, so it’s interesting to see how journals are used. I use a simple smash journal that I don’t write in. I write wherever I am on whatever I have, then I “smash” that note into the journal. I also tuck ephemera in. It’s easy! I do not have the discipline to otherwise keep a journal.
I love little stuck in notes in journals! I’m not the most disciplined either. I always have multiple journals going to match what mood I’m in at the time. Thank you for sharing Mara!
Hej Bree, I'm a new and very inspired subscriber to your channel and I love your posts, your voice and your beautiful handwriting ❤ so neat unlike mine lol 😄 your journals are very beautiful too, yes ALL of them ❤ 💖 I am actually new to junk journalling, however I have created handmade books recently. Love creating them 💕 especially the accordian style (love your tiny one, very cute!)
that was so much fun. i resonate with the independent study you created using a junk journal and dedicating it to the fairy tales as well as the journal about your final year of studies. However, i fail miserably when faced with a journal...my deep dives look like boxes of scrap paper with scribbles and clipboards filled with the same. QUESTION - i notice some wax seals in your journals. Did you press them directly on the journal page or did you press them on silicone and glue them in. I love the idea of the seals but i live in a dry hot coastal desert other folks call Southern California and i can't see the seals staying put or, for that matter, not melting. i really had a great time with you today...thanks for your work
I can also relate to the piles of paper and scribbles. I have a whole full of folders of papers I should probably purge lol. I mostly pour them directly onto the page. I find the ones that pour on wax paper and then stick on later with glue or double sided tape end up falling off eventually. I've never been to California, it looks so dreamy over there! Thank you for watching!!!!
@@1134Press thanks I always wanted to use wax seals in my stuff and i was concerned about the adherence. good to know. and i agree with the person below it is like a commonplace book about one topic.
@@naja4824 i love that idea - the wax sticks melt nicely and without soot and there's no flame for me to deal with. I love the range of colors in the wax sticks and, though i have zero experience with glue guns, i think it could be fun.
I use a mini Polaroid and I love it! It's small enough to take with me anywhere. Th only downside is that the film can get a little expensive. But the size of the pictures works great for me and I like the vintage feel of them.

Love em all, my favorite is that mini chubby travel one ♥️♥️
I love seeing other peoples journals, how they made them, and how they use them. Thank you for sharing yours! Hugs!

How do you like your Polaroid camera? I have debated whether to invest in one and I’m on the fence. Do you have one you recommend for journaling?

I’m unsure if you meant Ryder Carroll or someone else?
His is the only book popping up in my search.
Oops! it’s Ryder Carroll lol.
