I really want to get Rustin' Dustin. It's a really cool concept to have a Lego/Wooden Railway train. If they don't already, Zainy Trains should sell the base plate chassis by itself so you can build your own custom engines.
Is it weird that Rustin’ Dustin as a character is making me think of Underground Ernie but the style of his stickers are making me think of Andrew Chesworth’s The Brave Locomotive XD

One of the reasons is Rustin Dustin, who brings the best of both worlds; Wooden Railway and LEGO. Time and time again, the fans prove that they can do a better job handling Thomas than Mattel, and this is no exception.
how interesting! this brings me so many memories, I had many wooden trains when I was a kid (and I think I still have them somewhere) and I thought about making a wooden train with a carbody made of Lego bricks, these wooden railway chassis would've been perfect for that hahahah

Trust me, I don’t have the patience, I just make it look like I do 🤣 But this was super interesting! From my Wooden customs I’ve always felt the wheel sets seemed too big for the models, but they actually look perfectly sized with your Lego Thomas, go figure! Great video as always! Also look at Luke flexing his orange Rickety.. very nice.

Why didn't they make a LEGO train-compatible wooden railway motor instead of wheelbase? Or if possible just wheels and couplers that can be put on a LEGO train motor. The design choice to do a wheelbase is seriously hampering and limiting the ways in which things can be creatively combined.

You can actually turn around the narrow gauge wheels on your models and then they fit on wooden railway track too.

I use to just put the small lego wheels with the flanges to the outside, with some turntables the 40518 actually run great on my son's wooden tracks
theoretically with the offical hinges, you could make bogie stock now.
