Hey Nik I like the flap/lid! You're so very clever, and we appreciate that you listen. :D And I may be in the minority, but I fully appreciate your "filter". I really don't care for all the vulgarity that seems to come so easy to so many these days. So, for me, it's much appreciated when I come across a TH-camr who is funny without the potty mouth. Thank you.
I agree, so many people on the "tube" feel the need to be "cool and current" and they can get really vulgar in the attempt. I appreciate a place where we can relax and not worry about lewd comments.
I am loving this lap book! For someone who flies by the seat of her pants for her projects, you are an awfully good pilot! And, I always told my kids: the truly creative mind does not need to resort to that which offends.
No, don't change a thing! Just telling my daughter recently how refreshingly funny you are. Loving this project too...when we moved (from Colorado), I had to give my old books to this great shop, so I have to wait for just the right book...but when I do, I know what I'm gonna make! Thank you for this channel and you and your sense of humor. Pperry
I love listening to your talk!!!! You can talk to kids or seniors or silly people, you still be interesting and motivating. Keep on talking :) Love from sweden xxx 000
I have watched your vids for a long time now and it has never occurred to me that you “sounded ‘G’ rated”. You ARE family friendly but what the heck does that person who commented want? You are so interesting, and funny and I love love LOVE listening and watching you!
Love your videos and YESSSSSS!! “G” rated is totally fine! Ha haha ! No need for garbage talk, we are making books! Thank you, thank you for keeping it clean and funny and still personal sharing your ups and downs and doctors appointments hahaha!
Water, neckmassage og yoga for stretching those neck muscles .. and off course : booksmithing to keep you happy 🥰 I love your work 🙏🏼 Thank you so much for beeing the generous kind of human .. sharing your gift with all of us 🙏🏼
You are so much fun!!! Whenever I need to be cheered up your videos are the 1st place I go for a good laugh. Thank you for that. I learn so much watching you - and some of it even relates to paper and crafting!! 😁😂😁😀😁😘🤗
I have loved this entire series...but the glee I felt when you pulled out the embellishments..!! OMWord! I just adore seeing how you take your projects just oooonnnee step further to make them Fantabulous!!! Could you plan to do a series like this every couple of months?? No pressure, I mean, I know have a life outside YT!
G rated talk is refreshing and wholesome. Wish it were the normal everywhere! Additionally, this series is so helpful and informative. Please know, your viewers like your format.
LOL!! Patrick from Spongebob Square Pants!!! I remember just shaking my head as my boys laughed and laughed and laughed!!! Oh my goodness!!! Thanks for the walk down memory lane on that one!!
Yup I was wait I know this. wait. Wait its its oh poo....its from spongebob squarepants. Ha. I love this lapbook. I dont know if I have the energy to make one or start one and ever finish it but I sure want to try. So so cool
Had an adulting day myself, so - very happy to finish it off watching, and listening to, the fabulous Nik. I love the way you speak - it makes me HAPPY!!!
My granddaughter was me watching this series and eat down with me, after steamy It as she ask, "Can you please make me one of those to hold my sketches my supplies? That thing is so cooo!". I'm off to the user book store tomorrow to find some books. Greatvproject!
Hay Nik love your vocabulary, working with children really helped develop an amazing way of talking your listeners on a journey. I love going on the squirrel bus for a run (and I bring my daughter who also loves the giggle)
Thanks for the entertaining video! As a mom, I appreciate your language filter because I don't have to use ear buds and close the door to watch a Nik video...Ahhh -Refreshing! Tfs.
Hi Nik! Do you think you could do a stash building video??? Where could beginners find the vintage supplies you use in your videos... who are your favorite sellers to buy cool vintage ephemera from??? I just started this Hobby and am trying to build my stash!!!
Hi Michelle, I think Nik has a video but I thought I'd throw a few suggestions out there. Flea markets are a great place to start, especially out door ones, (I've gotten some vintage Report Cards, old herbal medicine info book, and post cards for cheap) yard sales, estate sales, even Goodwill or other type thrift shops. Remember even a handkerchief could look awesome! 😍🤞
I love how your lapbook is coming along. Great project! I wish there was some way to do a faux embossed book cover similar to the ones you used. I can't seem to ever find any in my area. Ignore the bad comments sweetie, your following speaks to the wonderful job you are doing!
I am new here but I have never seen such a complex and artistically done junk journal! I am going to go through all your tutorials. I love your style. I love your teaching method. I don't love you yet but let's be friends for awhile. LOL!!!
Great series. Excited for the next one. I worked with teachers for a number of years, in many different schools and the majority of them were nasty. That surprises people when I say that, but I can tell you they love to slander other teachers, parents, the principal and some studies. I find it incredible that someone with your great personality was in that environment. Glad to see they didn’t rub off onto you.
Hi Nik - Keep up the "G"ood work. I am in love with this project but refuse to start one until I find just the right book cover. It's that amazing. TFS.
"another perfectly good day ruined by responsibilities" LOL!! I didn't know "the lid, the lid, the lid" (until I read the comments) but I do know pod people and I love you for that! I never even noticed your channel is G-rated and I don't care one way or the other, you're just so very clever and funny, it's the best part of my day watching you work. 😍
Loving this series. I really appreciate you and your clean content. I won't watch potty-mouths and negative people. There's too much of that out in the world. Don't want it in my home. You are a bright part of my day and I love your humor. Thanks for sharing .
I love this so much! I’ve purchased a few of your workshops and they are wonderful. And as for your “g” rating...thank you. I think it’s called maturity and I appreciate your being able to form your thoughts into words without vulgarity.
So cute! I didn’t know I needed a lid, but I think it turned out super cute and added more texture/pattern to that side. Thanks again for the cool ideas!
Nik I would love if you could do a video on how to cover the or decorate the hardback book covers. I live in a rural area and have a hard time finding gems like the ones you used to make your lapbook. I'd love to hear your thoughts and see how you would handle my situation. Thanks so much for sharing.
This is one of my favorite projects from you. I have a few old books that are too large for journals that will make fabulous lap books. Thanks for the inspiration!
Hello Nik :) I am really enjoying making this lap book, I am going to use it for my vacation to my daughters :) I had to laugh when I saw what you were doing on this video, I too wanted a closure, and I did this with my backing paper and made it longer to have a flap over my folder :) I enjoy your G rated videos, I don't really care for bad language :) Off to part 8 :) tfs, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
Hey Nik take a piece of clear packing tape and put it over the brad on the inside, that will keep anything from catching on it & it's not noticeable. LOVE Love love your G Rated talks with us, and loving this lapbook! Can't wait to make one!
Hi Nik. Keep the filter. It's becoming a rare quality. I appreciate you, your talent and your willingness to share. Love from a Indiana gal, Janie. Oh! "The lid, the lid..." Is what my handsome bald headed husband says when he's hunting for his hat as we walk out the door.
Peppermint essential oils applied close to the hairline and the temples (as far away from eyes as possible) really helps knock down a headache. It usually does a good job for me :)
Another great video. Can’t wait to see part 8. Honestly, if I had seen this entire project done in the beginning I would have been so intimidated, now I’m thinking, yeah I could actually do this!
Closure as in an end to the series and how you are finishing off the book? Joking. The closure is actually a really good idea and I love those screw brads. The way you decorated the accordion folder is so cute. Love it! I find it really odd when people are offended by people that *don't* curse in their videos. I mean, what? What? I've never really thought about the fact that you don't curse. I personally don't care one way or the other. But it's nice that you are family friendly.
More greatness ! Love he stripes on the inside of the lid... you may think this was short, but you got a lot into it for sure. Thanks for sharing this super lapbook.
Absolutely adorable lid and closure. Thanks for being kind and g rated. My social circle does not include very much non g rated language period and I am so thankful you are. You’re swell, Nik! 😉
Nk, I will be the first one to admit my language can be quite 'colorful'. I made it through raising three children and they don't have foul mouths. LOL When my grandson was about 10 months old, I kept him one evening so my daughter could go out. We were on my bed, playing, and something made him mad. He reared his hand back, like he was going to hit, and shouted, "Pock!" Only, I don't think that was what he was saying. LOL I learned to be more careful after that. It was one thing to curse in front of my own children, though, I am not proud of it. But, it is entirely another matter to curse in front of anyone else's children. Thanks for everything you do and HOW you do it, clean and humorous!
I have bad feet, and whenever I clip the side of the rug shampooer-I don’t say “oh my goodness that was unfortunate!” That device has it out for me and when we cross paths I threaten that thing with a few unsavory words. Once in awhile a cursey word isn’t a deal breaker for me personally. But I also understand why most people don’t want to hear it. The art is focus here and I don’t know why I’m commenting on a 2 year old video.
I appreciate your G rated language too. I don't like it when people use foul language. My 7 and 9 year old granddaughter's love you they enjoy watching with me. I love your videos this series has gotten me looking for more books .tfs
Well, I'm about to get away sucked away by adulting too. Also, I'll be a nursery / Kindergarten student teacher soon so wish me luck as I hone my G-ratedness. Edit : Your're always so pleasant & relatable to watch.
I adore lapbooks and your creation is fantastic! Love your creative process and appreciate the way you are taking us along. Oh ya....spongebob square pants.....lol!!
As always....finished my evening off watching NiK! Love, love, love this project! I’m a G rated kind of gal (well maybe occasionally PG😉) so love your channel!

This is genious!! Love it, Nik!! Now, I need to get me some brads....🙂 Honestly, I just recently found your channel.....so glad I did!! Because, I'm making a few vintage books, to hold all of my mom's handwritten recipes... TFS!! Hugs ❣~Suzy~
Thanks so much for sharing this tutorial. I have some inspiration for a memory book for a baby/child. Your style is wonderful, but can be adapted as well.
I fully agree with Lisa Kerley’s comment about your “filter.” I know it seems to be the norm nowadays to say absolutely anything to anyone regardless of age or sex, but I don’t care that I’m in the minority-sometimes the minority makes the most sense and is the better place to be!! Maybe that’s those few people that feel compelled to give you a thumbs down-you’re not racy and foul mouthed enough for them!!
Hey Nik I like the flap/lid! You're so very clever, and we appreciate that you listen. :D And I may be in the minority, but I fully appreciate your "filter". Me too......and in a couple weeks I'll be 70!! OMG! how did that happen????
49Nutmeg a question I ask myself on a fairly regular basis. 🤣 hopefully Nik keeps going on forever so we can enjoy her in our old age. 😜
