If you had the time, would you consider demonstrating how to bow and arrow cast and still get your line off the water to not spook the fish as you do in so many of your videos. I don't think there's much to demonstrate. Just keep the rod top high enough that a minimal amount of line is on the water. And even if line does touch the water, it's not a big deal. I don't think the fish in a stream like this mind. Thanks for watching, Ron.
Is that really Southwest WY? I didn't realize anywhere in Wyoming wasn't covered in snow in early March (or April, or May, for that matter)! Heck, where my family and I fish in Wyoming, it snows on us every time we're there, and that's in June and July ;)

I have a second GoPro that I occasionally use for underwater shots. I've looked into polarizing filters for GoPros, and they all seem to fall short in one way or another. Thanks for watching.
Where did you get your measuring net? I have a creek like that a mile from my house about the same size, I know it has Native Cutthroat and a few Browns and probably some Rainbows as well but for public access there is like one or two spots you can fish it and that is it otherwise all overgrown into a jungle, it has an even smaller tributary with a couple spots you can get to with holes below waterfalls that may hold fish but the creek in between those holes is 1-2 feet across so not positive the tributary even has fish.
Beautiful fish for such a tiny creek! Glad you’re using the right tools for the job, who cares what the tenkara “purists” say about short tenkara rods. You simply could not fish such a brush choked stream with a 12’ rod! Bottom line is you caught some great fish!
The video would only be about 10 seconds long, as there's not much to it. You hold the rod in your dominant hand and point it in line with where you want the fly to go. Grab the fly, pull back, and let it go. It's easiest when the line + tippet is about the length of the rod.
@@TenkaraAddict I just want to work out what I've seen Joe Humphries do, where he winds a small handful of fly line and does a slightly longer-range bow and arrow cast. I've recently hooked/caught a couple of fish on close-in bow and arrow casts, it's pretty fun, and once you work out your angle it works pretty well. I don't Tenkara, but lately I've been doing a lot of fishing with almost no fly line past the rod tip, so it's similar. Great videos, you are really fun to watch, your experiences seem very pure.
Where did you get your Shimotsuke Kiyotaki 180 rod? I've been looking for one. I checked Amazon and many other sites and all that I found was it has been discontinued. Thanks
Trout dont typically care for deep water unless it's hot out. They have enough water flowing year around and all of those trees provide great shade + all the bugs that fall in the water. Its pretty much great conditions.

When I was a little kid I caught my first brook trout in a creek just this size. Alone in the woods. So much fun!
I fish a stream very similar to this and I can truly say, it’s the most difficult and technical fishing when it comes to trout.
He should come to N GA. We have nothing but small creeks with heavy brush!
I like small, secluded streams like this too vs. a large open river surrounded by other anglers ten to one.

Might go back to that stream this winter with an ax and cut out a few places to fish.

eBay. There were still a few left when I bought mine a month ago, but it looks like they've been sold now.
