I'd like to see an entirely healthy Italian squad when it's time for qualification. Both of the Cups they have missed the have been playing the most important matches with out the full strength. Outside of the Euros which still had gaps due to injuries, the Italians haven't played a consistent 11. How can you build chemistry if the starting lineup is always changing? I'm not saying they always turn in great or even good performances, but I feel like a lot pundits aren't telling the whole story. Sure against North Macedonia they couldn't buy a goal. It seemed as if there were 20+ shot attempts mostly coming from Berardi who let's be honest isn't starting with a healthy Cheisa. That's just one of many examples. Everytime they build moment, someone gets injured it's really a bummer. They haven't had a striker since 2006, but usually through terrific team play can get the job done, sadly just not when it matters most.

That was painful to watch the Italian players be a shadow of what they once were. I had the chance to see them win the world cup in 82 and again in 2006. Both those teams and the ones in between were absolutely great. The league was the best in the world and was destination to the best players. The stadiums were amazing at that point. Now just look at the Napoli stadium, absolutely awful. Those guys have a lot of work ahead of them.

I'm not sure if Mancini didn't really care about this match or not, but why the heck would you put Belotti, Bernadeschi, Pessina, Jorginho, and etc. in the starting lineup? Belotti and Bernadeschi are laughable, Jorginho has been playing awful right after the Euro cup, and Pessina hasn't been playing for Atalanta and did a terrible season. For f*** sake, you had Tonali, Pellegrini, Bastoni, Spinazzola, and etc.!!!! I like how people say Donnarumma was the man of the match. In reality, the first two goals could have been avoided if Donnarumma closed in Di Maria and ran out of the box (towards center) when Messi passed the ball to Lautaro. Look at the two goals that were allowed in the Euro with Spain and England. Instead of running towards Morata, he was going the opposite direction. Instead of positioning his body to the right pole, he left a huge gap when Shaw scored. He is really good from distance, but I see a huge problem with closing in the gap.
Italy didn’t have Chiesa, Immobile, Insigne, Verratti, Berardi, Tonali, Zaniolo. Italy hasn’t been fully fit since they won the Euros and a fully fit Italian side will beat anyone. What’s to be impressed they are a good side but they beat a team of backups in a send off game.

Not having Chiesa is a huge blow, the Italians have been a team riddled with injuries since they won the Euros. I don’t hate Immobile as much as everyone does he is the best Italian striker in Serie A tops in goals 4 years now. He has to be included you can’t leave him home. He scores at a rate similar to Del Piero did for Italy. Immobile has missed 3 of the last 4 games for Italy and they have scored “zero” without him. He isn’t the problem but he is aging and we need a guy like Raspadori to take the lead on that I like Scamacca he has talent but to me he seems kind of tall, lanky, and goofy looking. There are other young promising guys I like the direction they are headed the WCQ in UEFA is a joke with that stupid playoff they should go back to top 2 qualify.

I'd like to see an entirely healthy Italian squad when it's time for qualification. Both of the Cups they have missed the have been playing the most important matches with out the full strength. Outside of the Euros which still had gaps due to injuries, the Italians haven't played a consistent 11. How can you build chemistry if the starting lineup is always changing? I'm not saying they always turn in great or even good performances, but I feel like a lot pundits aren't telling the whole story. Sure against North Macedonia they couldn't buy a goal. It seemed as if there were 20+ shot attempts mostly coming from Berardi who let's be honest isn't starting with a healthy Cheisa. That's just one of many examples. Everytime they build moment, someone gets injured it's really a bummer. They haven't had a striker since 2006, but usually through terrific team play can get the job done, sadly just not when it matters most.
This is the result when Seria A club ownership choose to gratuitously invest in foreign rather than Italian youth talent.

That was painful to watch the Italian players be a shadow of what they once were. I had the chance to see them win the world cup in 82 and again in 2006. Both those teams and the ones in between were absolutely great. The league was the best in the world and was destination to the best players. The stadiums were amazing at that point. Now just look at the Napoli stadium, absolutely awful. Those guys have a lot of work ahead of them.
