      Hello Pejay, good info.
      Did the brass swivel fitting that comes on the air reel holds 1500 psi? (1200 psi tops it's what I'm running) ¿or you change that one from the reel?

    Great video. I'm glad I stumbled upon this. I struggled with finding the best way to connect the hose today. I used a 90, but wasn't happy with it. I'll be redoing it like this tomorrow.

    Thanks for the video! I am on the same boat of thinking of getting the reel (fellow Canadian here, and also a big fan of Carzilla), and your video is easily the best unboxing of this mtm hose reel. Please keep us posted how it goes with mounting the reel! Right now I am thinking of mounting 2 screws to a stud and then 2 with a toggle anchor on drywall, just to keep the install simple and low cost.

      Thanks for watching! I am actually finishing up an in Depth video this week on my completed pressure washer setup.Having said that I highly recommended mounting the reel to a stud for sure , I got lucky and was able to install all 4 bolts to studs and it works awesome! If you are going to install the reel on your drywall I suggest you get some pretty heavy duty anchors because when you are using the pressure washer hose and reel there is a lot of pressure built up, but I have to say I am really happy with the setup!

      @@DetailProjects thanks, I ordered the same reel, have it setup, and finally used it today! I am super happy. It is painful to manage the 50’ hose without a reel being in a tight space. I ended up mounting it the same way as I described. I also have a very tight area so this reel is just perfect. Thanks for your video; the hose orientation setup is super helpful! Mind I ask how did you take out the bend restrictor from the 50’ hose? Did you cut it off, or you have a better way? I basically cramped the bent restrictor into the reel but it feels very tight. I am also thinking of taking off the bent restrictor on the sprayer end though not sure if that’s a good idea. Cheers man keep up the good work with your videos.

    Do you regret not getting the cox reel now that you've lived with the MTM reel for a few years? If the cox reel was only $100 more than the MTM, would you have gotten the cox reel over the MTM?

    • @DetailProjects
      @DetailProjects  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No regrets, at this price point you can’t go wrong. Having said that if you are able to find a cox reel for only $100 more then definitely worth picking it up. As far as I know, the cheapest cox reel I am able to find retails for $400 CAD, so 4 times the price of an MTM.

    It’s a shame the hose reels don’t allows for the hose to fully release by quick release as having my hose in a fixed position always isn’t great if you need to use it for multi use.

    Hi @DetailProjects, I had a question about your kobrajet hose. On the side that connects to the reel, did you remove the black sleeve or did your kobrajet not come with one on that side? if you did remove it, is there an easy way or did you just cut if off? Also, carzilla is out of stock of the reel at the moment but this other website recommends using a 90 degree elbow on the reel side to connect your kobrajet. it looks like you don't need it tho for a 50' reel (which i am trying to get.) any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

    • @DetailProjects
      @DetailProjects  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Alan Dichoso my kobrajet also came with the black sleeve so what I ended up doing was simply pull the sleeve down a bit so it lets the hose flex more on the connection with the reel. No need to cut it off. As for the reel you don’t need a 90 degree elbow. It will work without one , I believe the reason why they recommend this is to make the hose fit easily on the reel. I have no issues whatsoever so far without one. I would suggest to contact CARZILLA and ask them when they will be expecting a new shipment because they have been out of stock now for a while. Most likely because of the global supply chain situation. Hope everything works out for you!

      @@DetailProjects Thank You, I'm in the market for one but how's the durability? The mounting bracket seems small, Can it handle the weight if mounted on the wall? Durability so far has been awesome for me, no leaks the bracket is mounted to a stud so no issues there. Overall I am very pleased with this setup and I would highly recommend it. The coxreel is without question a more heavy duty reel and better quality but also come at almost 3 times the cost. It really depends what your going for. If you want quality and price is not an issue go for a coxreel but if your not to hung up on that the mtm is a great alternative . I have a video showing my pressure washer setup, feel free to check it out to see if that will help you out!

    Anyone know if the mounting pipe that feeds water to the hose reel is stainless or standard steel? Or had issues with rust inside if not used for a period of time? I have not been able to find details on this.

    • @DetailProjects
      @DetailProjects  ปีที่แล้ว

      The inside is normal steel I believe and yes I have had some minor rust issues over the course of 2 years now. Not sure where the rust is coming from however every time I prime my hose there is evidence of rust coming out the hose for a quick second and after that it goes clear. I suspect the rust it’s from the inside of the reel since every other connection i have is stainless steel.

    • @hfjeff2736
      @hfjeff2736 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DetailProjects Thanks for this info/update. I see there are other brands where a short whip actually routes through the mounting pipe and won't rust and can be replaced if needed. Otherwise it appears to be a great reel for the money, but based on this I am going to look at something else. Thanks again for the unboxing review.

  • @DaiLoo888
    @DaiLoo888 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I dont think you need the quick connect from your hose reel to the short hose, what you only need is quick connect from the hose to the pressure washer, because your hose reel and the short hose will stick to the wall

    • @DetailProjects
      @DetailProjects  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It does need something because both ends are male so I took MTM’s suggestion and added QC to both ends, in my opinion it works 👍

    • @DaiLoo888
      @DaiLoo888 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DetailProjects where you buy your short hose? Is it custom hose? Mine is female 3/8 so it can connect diretly to the hose reel, the other end is male 3/8 so i can put QC to connect to the hose reel, bècause QC can worn by time, and it has rubber seal inside, and you will not gonna plug and unplug the hose reel everytime correct, and minimize the leak

    Nice review and really nice looking product. My only question is why these things so damn expensive? $100 is not too bad but when you think about it, the electric pressure washer using only cost $89. The hose reel cost more than the unit itself. That’s crazy to me.
