Aziraphale is having a much easier time pretending to be Crowley than the other way around. Because Crowley never really hid his contempt for his fellow demons so Aziraphale can let go and be a little snarky, it doesn't hurt. On the other hand, really hard for Crowley to not rage at heaven because of how they're treating his friend.

A Kangaroo Trial to be sure, but a trial was bothered to be had.

Michael Sheen playing Crowley PRETENDING to be Aziraphale, and David Tennant playing Aziraphale pretending to be Crowley is giving me new life.
I was really impressed with how they both got the body-language of the other's character. Fantastic actors.
Yeah, you can tell they're not quite right, especially Aziraphale, because Michael wasn't playing Azi, he was playing Crowley (you can tell how much he hates the angels by his face) and Crowley seemed a little softer because it's actually Azi there.
Like they have been friends/together for 6 thousand years

I had a vague idea since “Azriaphael” asked “perhaps I could persuade you?” Crowley is the original tempter and makes cracks about it almost every episode so that’s what really got to me.
My first hint was in the scene where they get captured. There's some dialogue callbacks and body language cues that are switched.

Kind of sad that the demons are the ones giving Crowley a "trial" but the angels are going to straight up not giving Aziraphale a chance to at least explain himself

“And I bet you didn’t see this one coming” nice little nod to the fans of the book there. This scene wasn’t in the book and with the series being refreshingly close to the book all the way through and was satisfying that they added their own scene that flowed so neatly with the whole narrative. It shows how well they understand the source material and how much care they took when adapting it into a series. They did a phenomenal job, bravo.

I think it's quite a nice detail that when they're speaking with each other on the bench but haven't switched back yet, Aziraphale in Crowley's body speaks with a slightly higher pitch than what Crowley would usually speak in and the other way around for Crowley in Aziraphale's body. Or, maybe I might be hearing things. Still, it makes me really happy.

The actors did amazing jobs acting like eachother trying to act like themselves.

What I love the most and only just noticed, is how Aziraphale pretending to be Crowley says "this is a new jacket and I don't wanna ruin it, do you mind if I take it off?" If you think about it, that is a new jacket for Aziraphale and of course he wouldn't want to ruin it bcos he's all about fashion so that's actually a very Aziraphale line, but said with Crowley's attitude it just sounds like his normal mocking arrogance. That's genius writing right there.

I love the little details that give away the game that I only catch on a rewatch. Obviously right before they switch back we see their posture and body language, Aziraphale upright and Crowley splayed out, but look at the moments of their sentencing: When the demons sentence "Crowley" he defaults to protecting his clothes, whereas "Aziraphale" makes a half-attempt to weasel (sorry, "persuade") his way out of the situation. Both are stunning little callbacks through the series, hinting at the truth before they pull the rug out that you only catch if you know what you're looking for.
Also, when they are talking in the park, David Tennant puts those little pauses between his words because that's how Aziraphale talks - with a slight hesitation. And those micro-expressions on Michael Sheen's face are pure Crowley. Incredibly talented actors, the both of them.
“Aziraphale” looks at some books in the shop and says they’re new, “Crowley” smiles to see the Bentley back in one piece but doesn’t drive it, and check out what they order from the ice cream stand in the park right before the kidnapping.
They both did SUCH an amazing job in this scene!

I love how they gave close attention to designs to give us a hint early on:
- When Aziraphale (Crowley) returns to the bookshop and sees the new RED books on the desk;
- When Crowley (Aziraphale) exists his building to take a taxi, and has a WHITE collar on, and not red as usual.

5:20 Instant red flag, Aziraphale would never do that, that's what tipped me off that they switched
If you watch really, really closely, they give it away a little bit earlier - when they're in the park buying ice cream just before being kidnapped, "Aziraphale" buys the red lolly and "Crowley" buys the plain white one, the exact opposite of what they did in the earlier episode when it flashed-back to them in meeting in the past. =)

I think the point is that either side doesnt know them well enough, that is why their sudden change in behavior isnt noticed. They never really knew our beloved ineffable husbands and that in the end, it was their downfall.

This twist actually caught me completely off-guard but now, watching it again, it is very obvious how they are acting abnormally. I love this show.
Lovely little detail at 6:47 is if you look at Crowley, you can see he's sat just as Aziraphale would, and Aziraphale is sat like Crowley would, so if you're particularly sharp-eyed you'd realize what's happened.
They really dropped the act and went back to being their personalities again
There's a few hints before they even get kidnapped too. Aziraphale (Crowley) barely reacts to his bookshop being restored, his walk through the shop has a bit of a Crowley-ish swagger to it, and when he notices the new books his deep-voiced "those are new" comment sounds very Crowley-ish.
Same goes for Crowley (Aziraphale) in the next scene - his walk has less of a swagger to it than usual, his cherubic-smile upon seeing the restored Bentley is VERY Aziraphale-ish, and he takes a taxi instead of driving the Bentley (because Aziraphale can't drive).

I love how at 6:45 you can tell that they switched because of the cadence of their voices and the how they’re speaking because that’s how they would normally speak. It’s also cute that Aziraphale ask for a rubber duck as Crowley since one of Crowley’s favourite animals are ducks. Also Crowley’s laugh at the end kind of does sound like a duck 😅😊

i love how on the bench, they are assuming each other's sitting postures: aziraphale in crowley's body is sitting up straight, prim and proper while crowley in aziraphale's body is slouched, relaxed and chill. lol.
Of you pay attention you could see they switched the second they switched.
-Crowley as Azi didn't stutter, but Azi always stutters infront of other angles.
-Azi as Crowley ordered strawberry lollypop ice-cream with flakes on top. Crowley would never do that!

Michael Sheen is really pulling out all the stops here ~ Aziraphale is always hyper-humble and Crowley is more of the quiet skeptic type; being tipped off about what actually happened in this scene, I think Michael did a spectacular job.

Aziraphale still has his speech pattern, his wording, his cordialism and when trying to act like Crowley, he tries to be more menacing or threatening than really snarky or sarcastic like Crowley
Crowley is just...barely trying and simply repeating stuff Aziraphale has said while trying his best to not be himself

It's funny cuz, Michael Sheen was originally cast as Crowley, but the reason he dropped the role was because he felt like he wouldn't be able to play it well. And then we see here that he would've been great at it.
