For me one ultimate advantage ng 1 by setup is less maintainance. Like naka 3x ako ngayon at madalas nag aadjust ako ng cable tension ng FD ko during rides kasi ayaw pumasok sa largest chainring. Sa flats naman, it's a matter of pacing. Like if you can maintain 20-30kph along stretches (regardless chainring config) goods na un. Sa akyatan at traffic i would say advantage ang 2x or 3x kasi you can lower your gears ng isang pitik lang sa FD which is equivalent to 3 gears adjustment sa RD.
For 12speed cogs na umaabot na hanggang 50t. More than enough na ang 1x crank set up kasi sobrang lambot na gamitin ang 45t kahit naka 32 or 34 chainring ka. Masusunog ka kasi pag gumamit ka pa ng 22 chainring tapos 45t cog.

1x Set up became the game changer in the advent of bigger cassettes going from now 52t (or 520% gear ratios) which makes it a lot easier in technical climbs. With less weight, more simplicity, the main reason of 1x popularity i think is mainly because of an enduro biking discipline which allows the rider to lose the left shifter for a remote dropper seat post which is essential in Enduro or gravity related MTBiking. Yes, 2x offers wider gear ranges of which i think 45t cassette would be enough. 2 or 3 chain rings have redundant or duplicative gear ratios and are susceptible to cross chain line but it yes its more applicable for touring bikes which are mostly for hauling heavy loads on long distances hence the need for easier gears. So 1x and 2 x have different applications on different types of MTBs depending on which biking disciplines a rider prefers, not to say that 1x is just hype or just for beginners. Let's respect the engineers in the MTB industry who have made a lot of RnD and enormous amount of time in computing and engineering drivetrains so we can enjoy riding far better performing and safer bikes out there or maybe they just want us to be spending more and more...the later I think is more logical.

I have a 2x gravel bike and I ride with my friends who has XC bikes with 1x. Most ng rides namin is paved at may mga random na maiksing paahon.. 2x is really good kung flat lang mostly yung daan and you can go really fast. Kaso nakakasira ng momentum pg biglang may ahon, cos may times na di kaya sa big chain ring and you have to switch to small then adjust your rear gear. Ang convenience naman ng 1x is you just have to worry about your rear gear. Meron speed chart sa google ng combination ng gears. 1x11 (smallest cog) can already go above 30kph and to be honest, if you're not racing, mabilis na ang 30kph to maintain for a long time. Just my 2 cents.. 😉
congrats ma'am may upgraditis ka na! Normally, the path for upgrading is yung mga contact points (saddle, grips, tires) kasi the more comfy you are the more miles you can go.

But kahit mas marami na un range or mas mataas na un range ng cogs mo train kapa din ng proper cadence it will be more efficient lalo sa long rides. If ano ba style mo? Spinner kaba o grinder. It has its own pros and cons.

Correction(s): The yellow thing you said a "Spacer" is not actually a spacer, its a bleed block and hose clamp because most of the brake hoses are too long (to fit majority of the frames). Also the 1x cranks are LESS PRONE to chain drop, is because 1x chainrings have a narrow-wide tooth profile, not just because its "Wan Bay". Thank me later :)

Ang pag-upgrade ng MTB ay naka dipende sa gumagamit at paano mo gamitin sa pang araw-araw ang MTB mo. Actually, mtb ko ay isang stock mtb lang, clueless sa mga latest update sa mga makabagong mtb. Ang naalala ko pa sa first mtb ko, yung break na sa itaas ng rim, yung old school brakes, pero ngayon parang kotse na ang brakes. Nasa rotors na. Marami nagsasabi sakin, 'boss updgrade mo na yang mtb mo!' Oo, alam kong dapat kong i-upgrade, pero the question is madali bang maglabas ng pera agad-agad kung alam mong meron kang responsibilities involving money. Madaling maglabas ng pera kung ang pera mo ay galing sa financier. Alam nyo na kung anong ibig kong sabihin dahil marami sa ngayon ng bike or mtb, its either need talaga nila because of bike-to-work or nakiki-uso dahil maraming nag-bike dahil sa COVID. First upgrade ko sa mtb ko; rim, gulong, spokes, hubs. Lahat kasi yan ay stock parts lang. Yung gulong butas na meron mahabang punit. Next project ko group set.

@@ancogbernard, bro, I understand. We have our preferences of upgrades on our bikes. Others making an upgrades on their bikes because its uso or para maging pogi yung bike. But for me that I'm using my bike for practicality, it is useless to upgrade my parts to a higher level. On Shimano, alivio is the midrange of upgrades. Higher than that for me, it's over kill. For me, it's ok to upgrade into high level like xt if I'm doing long-rides.
Ito sana May video sa cross chain or advise. Nagkamali ako ng biki ng upgrade. 11 speed XT 46T hindi pweee sa 2x slx. Kasi cross chain. Madaming teeth masyado.

I won't say that 1x is for beginners as most pros ride 1x. The 1x, as another commenter mentioned, eliminates the need for a front shifter, and sheds some weight as well. I run a 1x12 SRAM Eagle setup, and I mainly ride trails/XC races. I also spend some time in the saddle burning the asphalt on the same bike. I run a 34T in front, and 11-51 in the rear, and I can tackle high speeds on the flats and steep climbs. Nice big upgrade from the Altus that came with the Marlin 6 stock. Enjoy!
2x10 speed 46t LTwoo A7 user here. Pag me ahunan mahalaga kasi may Granny. Grannyx8speed lang nagagamit ko ahunan. Tama na pangtricks and pure trail 1x at saka dapat 11 o 12 speed ka. Pero mas gusto ko na rin 2x pati sa trails mas komportable ako sa Granny.
Kaya nga wide range yung cassette sa mga 1x para di ka ma kapos. Ang tanging advantage lang talaga ng 2x is minimal additional range and closer gearing. Pero di talaga kapos 1x kahit long ride pa basta naka mtb.
kung naka 2x na ka na 36/26 x 10-45 wala namang pinag kaiba yun sa 1x 36t x 10-51 same lang yung gearing ratio pag nasa pina ka malaking cogs kana. advantage lang ng 1x yung wala ng shift sa front. at mas magaan kaya most of the pro ang gumagamit walang naka 2x na pro. 😊😊 advantage ng 2x is hindi masyado malaki ang jump pag nag shift. kaya ito ang pang beginner hindi ang 1x. kaya mostly sa naka 1x na groupset is yung higend.😊😊

@@Not2x , Tama ang sinabi mo. Pero kung stock bike ang mtb mo, start saving, cause eventually you need to upgrade it little-by-little. If your bike is a stock bike, you need to invest on tools that you need while you are on the road.

@@ancogbernard, bro, I understand. We have our preferences of upgrades on our bikes. Others making an upgrades on their bikes because its uso or para maging pogi yung bike. But for me that I'm using my bike for practicality, it is useless to upgrade my parts to a higher level. On Shimano, alivio is the midrange of upgrades. Higher than that for me, it's over kill.
For me, it's ok to upgrade into high level like xt if I'm doing long-rides.
Walang problema sa pag upgrade... Kung pera mo naman at hindi ka nanghihingi or nag papalibre. Pera mo gastos mo.
Ganda nyan, i have 2x first bike. 1x okay din naman, u dont even need 1x just for jumping. Anyways enjoy riding nalng always! 😄

I won't say that 1x is for beginners as most pros ride 1x. The 1x, as another commenter mentioned, eliminates the need for a front shifter, and sheds some weight as well. I run a 1x12 SRAM Eagle setup, and I mainly ride trails/XC races. I also spend some time in the saddle burning the asphalt on the same bike. I run a 34T in front, and 11-51 in the rear, and I can tackle high speeds on the flats and steep climbs.

2x10 speed 46t LTwoo A7 user here. Pag me ahunan mahalaga kasi may Granny. Grannyx8speed lang nagagamit ko ahunan. Tama na pangtricks and pure trail 1x at saka dapat 11 o 12 speed ka. Pero mas gusto ko na rin 2x pati sa trails mas komportable ako sa Granny.

Correction:The 36t chainring in the front is for high gears (small cogs) for high speed, and 26t chainring is for low gears (big cogs) for climbing.
Kaya nga wide range yung cassette sa mga 1x para di ka ma kapos. Ang tanging advantage lang talaga ng 2x is minimal additional range and closer gearing. Pero di talaga kapos 1x kahit long ride pa basta naka mtb.
