Awesome build thou I'm not a fan of fitouts with storage on either side of the bed, really reduces the width of the bed but each to their own hey. Great to see an ID Buzz camper conversion, keen for the ID Buzz to be released here in Australia either later this year or in 2025. Safe travels.
Maybe watch this video to see why we ended up putting storage either side. ID Buzz Camper Full Build Start to Finish th-cam.com/video/mjMc8nCwDXM/w-d-xo.html
Hi Do you think you could update us on how much difference it makes to the range of the van when it’s also putting the 30 amps into a depleted leisure battery after a couple of nights away. Be very curious. Thanks. Didn’t see anyone in the van when it was weighed. If it was weighed as part of roadside enforcement it would at least have had a driver to be stopped so don’t forget that’s at least 80kgs off the payload. What is the maximum discharge from the 150ah lithium battery? I believe you mentioned a 3kw inverter? Seems a bit powerful for it compared to most Lithium batteries on the market but impressive if it can deliver for a reasonable amount of time. Didn’t hear a mention of any heating or did I miss it?
That’s how I usually drive, however I plan on trying to drive miss daisy too so we can see how far I can get out of it, but that’s not going to be easy with a lead foot!
29k + base... phew thats one big price tag!!!! so about £90k all in. Holy ###t. insurance going to cover that? i seriously feel a headache coming on. But it has been an interesting set of build videos.
Yeah, it's an awful lot of money for a small van, but if you want an EV camper that does more than 200 miles (and I really do!) you have a choice of exactly one vehicle at the moment, and it's not very big. Going to the LWB adds a bit of space but no height (and they've not made a cargo version of the LWB yet, weirdly)
Hi Steve and lynn. Van looks nice. We have almost done our ex sainsbury home delivery van to camper conversion. Just windows to do May wit week. Where do you think you might use your vw for as you have the lovely kontiki. We love your channel. You have a nice polite family. Best wishes to you all. David and Beverley Norfolk
Thank you David & Beverley. We have already used it so make sure you’re subscribed to our Steve & Lynds channel as we should be releasing a video of our first night away in it on there in the next couple of days. youtube.com/@radfords
Bob I explained how much Knights will charge for the conversion at the end of the video, and I’ve just looked on Autotrader where you can pick up an ID Buzz for under £30k, so this is achievable for less than £60k.
Really nice but feel it will only be used a couple of times to get peoples reaction, even less practical than a normal VW van. That said they make a nice job.
OH MY Great craftsmanship in the conversion but it’s just still so small I suppose it’s just going to be used to just get some sleep if you’ve had a really busy day on the road You won’t need to cook in the van really if your are parked up somewhere overnight and there are plenty of eateries 🏴🏴🏴🏴❤️❤️❤️👍 👍 🌼🌼😃😃
Hi Steve been watching for a week and have completed most of your vids great content I have a vw t5 converted but it's half wrapped but wanna get it rewrapped and change color is this something ya company does please mate and any discount 😁😁😁😁 keep up the good work guys

Cheers mate appreciate it ill give em a bell today or nip down only up the road keep the streams up mate and when u next have a meet up ill pop up say hi
Just seen the new VW T7 California camper van think you guys should have waited it’s a lot more versatile no cooking alfresco and a sink you can wash up in sorry guys the Buzz it’s just too small what’s that saying IT LOOKS LIKE A PIG IN A POKE and I know you guys like the Buzz but the cost is WOW and the practical side is a NO there’s no storage in the Buzz for chairs clothes food wet clothes boots shoes etc etc The T7 also has lots of tec stuff which should keep at least one person happy 😂 think you will need to have takeaway delivery’s on speed dial when using the Buzz or a good restaurant pub guide happy camping 😎
I believe you missed the original brief of a fully electric car that can do over 200 miles on a charge and be converted to a Campervan for occasional use.
When they make an electric T7 that does 200+ miles we can all look at that option, but until then it's the Buzz or nothing, and yes it's a space compromise.
@xxwookey we actually compared the space inside the latest VW Transporter campervan at the Caravan Salon show in last weeks video, and it didn’t feel much larger than our Buzz, and of course we prefer the layout of our Buzz over it, but I agree, just a few more inches of height would have been perfect.
Looks great but it would be no good for us. I’m 6ft 3” tall. Although I’m not an EV hater, I would be worried about sleeping on top of a massive EV battery pack. I know it’s rare, but I’ve seen videos of EV’s taking about 6 seconds from the battery starting to smoke to them bursting and into flames and exploding. At least with a normal diesel van as long as you have good fire detection devices you’ve got time to get out!! That is an issue of concern for me.
Too small for you maybe, but it’s perfect for us. Make sure you’re subscribed to our Steve & Lynds channel where we’ll be releasing a video of our first night away in it over the next few days. youtube.com/@radfords
@@epcode5121 have you taken your pills today ? Emm the radfords commissioned the conversion, they are seasoned motorhome users, they know what works and what doesn’t work, you have to ask why this has been done. No one spends that amount of money on an electric van and adds the amount that it cost to convert just to have it as a second occasionally used vehicle. It’s been done for a purpose. It’s totally impractical.
Wow! Great collaboration between you and John. And, boy John has done a smashin' job. Great travels ahead plus as you say a bit of tweaking here and there. 🙂🙂🙂
No they don’t. Payload refers to the amount of weight your motorhome can carry. For example, if your plate states 3,500kg is your maximum overall weight, then this is your payload. This includes passengers, pets, belongings, appliances, furniture, and anything else you may have in your motorhome.
@@RoamingRadfords They did a fantastic job on the build making use of the space .. and as an overnighter makes sense i guess. .. would be very handy for the shows that you do ...
400Kg is quite a lot of crap! Me +wife weigh 115Kg so that's 285Kg of 'stuff' to carry around. It's not a big van so there isn't much danger of what you put in weighing more than that.
Great finish, good use of the space. He managed to fit alot in that small space. Looks beautiful inside.
It's good to see an original and clever design. I've seen too many old VW's just fit the same rock'n'roll bed and cupboards.
Love it, what a gorgeous little conversion. 😍
Lovely job from John & company. Lots of nice features in a small van. Looking forward to few trips & reviews on it all esp Clayton 👍🏻

A front swivel seat would unlock so much more room. It's a lovely conversion, but how will you cook when its raining?
Wouldn’t it. We’ve put the cost of the conversion at the end of the video.
@@RoamingRadfords Thanks, more or less what I guessed for a high end job like that 👍🏻 it's lovely
Absolutely beautiful. John seems like a lovely person to deal with. Happy travels. Can't wait to see Linz washing the dishes in that wee sinkl😂

Please could you tell us which induction hob you have - it’s super slim. What pans/kettle etc will you use? 😊
You’ll find these and much more of the things we use in our motorhome in our Amazon Shop www.amazon.co.uk/shop/roamingradfords
You can have a tent that is attached to the back where you cook, which makes an extra room and keepyou dry if it rains
Perfect!
The couple who you did the signage on Morgan have brought a small van and have attached a tent for more room

No need for real dinner plates in a small van. You can buy a hundred paper plates for a couple of quid. Just throw them away when your finished.
We have them in the big van!!
Very nice conversion , great colours 🫶👌👏

Was amazing to see it in the flesh at The Campervan Campout such a clever design for a compact space.

Great little van but is it really what you need ????? Without the comforts of your big van !! These vans we call back packer vans ok for the youngies!

It does look cool, love the colour however it also looks tiny and very pricey for a 2nd car and occasional camper…
Thanks. It’s a similar price to the car we sold to replace this with, but this is bigger and much more functional.
Stunning van

Love it. The way forward. 😊👍

I would never entertain the idea of a small van like this, let's see how you get on with no storage or privacy, they are maybe OK for a solo
You know you have to weigh it with you in side , police weigh totol weight including persons.
It has a 400kg payload after the conversion. We may not be featherweights, but I can assure you that we don’t weight anywhere near 400kg.
Enjoy your travels in it.
I think the payload will get used up quick when you add chairs, food, people etc
Bob 400kg is an incredible amount of payload for such a small micro camper. There are family motorhomes with less payload than that!
