This show was shot after the summer when "Slippery When Wet" took the world by storm. By Fall 1986, Bon Jovi had released 6-7 videos from their first three albums, most of which were only played on Headbanger's Ball prior to "Slippery" breaking big.
They were celebrating the new year, but it just happened to be Paul’s birthday when it was being taped. Or, they taped it on New Year’s knowing the air date was Jan 20.
