    I'm a native NYer, so are my parents, but my grandparents were all born in SC & GA, and migrated to Harlem and the Bronx before my parents were born. Eight years ago I moved to New Orleans, bc it reminds of NYC. There's so much to do & though I have a car, I really don't need one bc I can walk a lot of places, like back home. And I love the long summers. I love NY, and I'll always rep the BX, but I don't care to ever see snow again.

You don't appreciate NYC, until you leave & it's the little things. If you live down south with NY pay(remote jobs or retired) & buy your house cash, its fine. Its no where close to as bad, even with migrants. Leave for lower rent or affordable mortgage. All this foolishness about staying the same, is because youre old, and friends gone. I’ve considered PA and VA. I can understand a lot of New Yorkers moving to Jersey since it’s right there. I’m semi-surprised that Connecticut isn’t on the list, but as a Connecticut native, I also get it. It’s extremely expensive here and I’m tired of it. The winter doesn’t bother me just the cost of housing. As a single with no dependents, it is still hard! But because we have higher salaries, it’s best to secure a remote job while living in NY or CT, and take that salary with you where it’s cheaper to live. I’m working on that now.

Im in PA and in our area we have a large influx of new yorkers but also now have loud cars booming music late at night, shady people lurking outside at night watching everyone come and go and garbage dropped on the ground outside the trash recepticles. Also lots of kids outside roaming by themselves and nature parks littered with garbage. And i live in the quiet suburbs area so its uncomfortable and annoying.

    I live in Brooklyn. Within a 3 mile radius, I counted at least TEN, muti-unit (over 20 apartments) buildings being built. If so many people are moving from NYC, then someone needs to tell the rich developers. Or maybe, just maybe the developers know something different than the person who just made a TH-cam video.

    • @Fister-kw5un

      200 apartments being built in a city of 8 million. That’s the problem, there should be 2 million units being built, not 200

    • @jtFacts77
      @jtFacts77 17 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      @@Fister-kw5un Think before you type;
      1. There's already existing housing
      2. He did say "3 mile radius" in Brooklyn. He didn't include the other 4 boroughs OR the areas outside the 3 mile radius
      3. Understand the larger point and since you didn't understand it the first time, I will make is simpler. There is a "disconnect" between the press "saying" people are moving out and the reality of large amounts of construction taking place in the residential areas. Someone is moving in these "new" places.

    • @SunlightsHorizon
      @SunlightsHorizon 17 วันที่ผ่านมา +11

      That housing is generally for people making $100k. Even in "affordable housing" much of the living isnt for us because we normally and largely arent in those income ranges. NYC wants a large amount of haves while strangling and sequestering the have nots to serve them.

    • @jtFacts77

      @@SunlightsHorizon Correct, although there is a set aside percentage for lower income tenants. I have a relative that lives in the Upper West side, near Columbus Circle (High Income area) in Manhattan, yet she isn't rich.
