Robby if it’s not too much budget you may want to think about doing an AFM Lifter delete kit while you have the engine exposed. Being that’s an 07 or newer Tahoe that 5.3 is and AFM Displacement On Demand Engine which are incredibly prone to lifter failure.

Hey Robbie that Tahoe has a decent rear end in it. It's made for GM by Eaton Industries and the order code on the build sheet is "G80". It's got a locker pal!! You hear the right rear tire start spinning @ 11:11 and the left rear doesn't spin while the right rear spins ONCE then the left rear also starts spinning - so it's a posi-track locker differential. This is a great rear end for pickups, 'Burbons, etc.

I think you guys are going to want insulation in this thing given the weather in your area. A heater and camper AC unit may not be in the budget for the challenge, but I think they would be smart upgrades later.

Robbie, when your welding sheet steel like you are in the video, its a good idea to seam blast where your gonna weld so you get better penetration. Milscale can cause poor penetration and make your welds look wormy

Use a white paint pen too follow when plasma cutting or chalk. It's loads easier too follow I found 👍

Also, make sure you weld the housing to the axle tube.
That Tahoe isn't an 01 but more like a 2010ish but either way it's still a 5.3 ls with a 4l60 I'm pretty sure
