That 1886 farthing is a beauty ethan.

Lovely coins. I finished my penny date run, and then fell down the rabbit hole of freeman varieties. It has started to get expensive.

You do really well with your local antiques dealer. The stars are the 1886 farthing & the James II half groat. My only James II coins are from the gun money series

You are quite likely to become some sort of numismatic genius in the near future. My strongest recommendation to you , as a coin collector, form age 7, having starting in 1977, is to start buying coins more selectively in better grade (VF+ to Unc if you can) you will never regret it financially or aesthetically!! Best of luck my Pommy friend. Cheers from Queensland, Australia!!

They need to learn how to grade also spot cleaned and burnished coins quality of surfaces add value not just the grade sir.

I would say they are all great. You buy smartly and you buy well. I see how much the filling date runs delight you. As for James II, I would say a bit steep myself - but his coins are scarce. 1687 tuppences are 12 quid in fine, but yours could be a 1687/88 overdate or ERA for FRA which is worth more. I only have 2 J2 coins myself, a 1687 Halfcrown and 1685 Shilling (Both are intact fine, but cleaned) and they cost me $225 for the halfcrown and $125 for shilling (Halve those prices for pounds) back in 2020/21. Meanwhile I bought a very nice 1561 dated 6d today and 2 pennies from Edward I and Edward II, which ticks off 2 more monarchs.

You could esily get a complete run off farthings 1800 = 1950 in excellent conditions for a few quid ,😅there undervalued 😮
