My Walmart was remodeled too& the yarn section is less than half an isle or I should say less than half a section of one-side of a isle. That's why I don't bother buying yarn there anymore!

I am super jealous of your Walmart selection, mine only has 1/4 of that! Mainstay colors on hand are red black gray and white that is ALL. They have 4 different colorways of Mandala and the rest of the yarns are sparse. If I had the moxy I would video it 🤣

skeins of same color you best order it.Our store just doesn't have the appropriate people
taking care of it and shelves are usually a mess.I assume they just need more help.
My wal-mart is the same way about 5-10 years ago they where alot better with yarn selections. Wal mart use to be the cheapest to get yarns. But when I have to go to 5 different wal-mart to get enough yarn for a project thats bothersome because you want to at least try to get the same dye lots. I only use variegated yarns so different dye lots is not as noticeable as compared to solid yarn colors.

Yes, Joanne's had the Ombre for 9.98 and it is always 7.48 at Walmart.
In Canada, Walmart has moved most of the yarn to online purchases. When you go to order it, it will allow you to order 4 balls max of the same yarn. For a lot of projects, 4 balls isn't enough. I've placed multiple orders in a short period of time to ensure I get enough yarn shipped to me with the same dye lot. It's refreshing to see a video where red heart super saver is not frowned upon.

I live in a large metro area and went online and checked the # of SKU’s all the close stores had. What was surprising was one store had 167 SKU’s whereas the super center closest to me has 131. I THOUGHT the Walmart Supercenters closest to the retirement areas (Sun City AZ) would have the most. Nope, 133 🤷♀. So, if anyone is interested, that was something I discovered is helpful before driving out when you have more than one to choose from locally ☺
Hi Ginger, thanks for taking us along to your Walmart. My local one has one aisle and part of the opposite side with yarn which are about equal to your one long aisle side. I don’t remember it having the Bonus bundle last time I was there. Looks like a trip to Walmart in my immediate future. 🧶🫂

My Walmart has a small amount of yarn. If they have something you want there is rarely enough for a throw or lapghan.

I have used the Willy yarn a lot in different projects and it holds up very well and very nice. I mean Afghan, sweaters with it and mitten.

I use the chunky to crochet or loom knit cat and small dog kennel pads to donate to animal rescues. It makes a really cushy bed😊❤

I love going to walmart for yarn deals. The location i like to go to had the lion brand mandala ombré in color chi on clearance for only $3 per skein
Also, Joanns is the most expensive place for yarn out of walmart, Hobby Lobby and Michaels. But Hobby Lobbys is by far the best quality and best price every other week, as its all 30% off bi-weekly
I've noticed that walmart is usually less than the yarn stores. I only buy it when on sale. I scored Mandala for 3.75 when I bought it. Its good to know base prices and watch for sales. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Walmart in Flagstaff has very little yarn. We are forced to only go to Joanns or hobby lobby.
I wish Canada had the Mainstays yarn. I really want to try it. My Walmart has one small half row of yarn. Usually only one or two shelves are stocked. Even the mega Walmart close-ish to me barely has any yarn. Of course, US Walmart is very different than Canada Walmart.
The big chunky chenille yarn...it's my FAVORITE for throw pillow covers. It's so soft and squishy to lay your head on on the couch. :)
Thank you sooo much for showing us the prices of the yarn at Walmart. I have my husband pick up yarn for me all the time since I am disabled and it is hard for me to get out. The prices are so much cheaper and I also shop Walmart yarn.

Yes, our Walmart was remodeled over six months ago and the yarn isle was moved. No new yarn after the reset and I haven’t seen any new yarn in there lately.
My Walmart has no yarn (about 50 skeins) It has been like that for almost a year. Very sad when I see all the choices at other Walmart.😢

My Wal-Mart in southern Illinois has hardly anything and it has not been remodeled. Very poor choice of colors and not a lot of stock. Your Wal-Mart looks Wonderful!!!

My wal-mart has gone down hill over the years. watching your video that wal-mart that you are in looks over over stocked compared to mine. wal-mart use to be the place to go to get yarn at decent prices.
The prices are really good for "non" sale yarn if you can find what you need or want. I wish they would step up with their offerings though. I only occasionally buy yarn there. If they offered more non acrylic yarns or even sock yarn I am sure I would be buying their more often.
Cooboo is great. Have made baby clothes, ornaments, many other things. Easy to work with, looks wonderful and lasts. Try it 😊.

I didn’t have a problem with the red heart Granny Square yarn and I have made 2 blankets with it and it’s not the yarn it your tension and you might need to go up or down a hook size so try to change the hook size when doing it because everyone have different tension. Because I have a tight tension on my hook
I like the Mainstay yarn. I wish Wal-Mart would give another yarn wall. I would like to see RH,Premier, Lion brand,plus a larger cotton. I think they need to take the craft section more seriously. A person should be working there at least 8hours. It is always a mess. The fabric has been cut back. But they need a craft savvy staff. I and other customers straighten out the yarn isle. They need to keep it better stocked. The granny yarn is gone in my Wal-Mart. I agree about the Mainstay yarn. Never enough colors. Yes my Wal-Mart was reset.

i hate the remodeling. FOr context i have ASD and these stores iv been to FOR YEARS are not only being switched up but ENTIRE BATHROOMS ARE CLOSED OFF. I nearly peed myself bec they decided to rip up tiles to the only bathrooms available DURING STORE HOURS. TMI I do not have a large bladder capacity. Didn't even get to buy all my groceries. I COULDN'T GO LOOKING FOR THEM WHEN I WAS about to DIE. I HATE HATE HATE walmart. Im so upset by this change and im glad i have other stores that i can go to bec they just lost me... I hope they lose other people too, seriously, ONE RESTROOM? cmon.

The Mandala ombre yarn is so much softer and nicer to work with than the regular Mandala yarn. Can anyone comment on the Mandala Baby yarn and how soft that one is compared to the other two Mandalas?
It is not as soft when you are working with it, but it got super soft after washing. I LOVe the ombre though.
Walmart has such good prices on yarn vs. Joann, Michaels... I went to Joann, their clearance prices were ridiculous

Donna here, that looks very full compared to my walmart in La. They have the planograms up too, but since covid we don't have the colors or the variety of yarns that you do. I haven't even seen the walmart brand in over a year! How weird is that??
Your mainstay is 3.98 in Illinois it 3.15 but your red heart the same price that 1000 yard on Amazon is over $15
WalMArt does this every 5 years. Corporate headquarters sits down and analyzes the movement around the store and shifts things. The last time my store moved the fabric/notion/yarn items ( more than a year ago) to a more mid point in the store and put their Clearance aisle in it's place.
Walmart only stocks what sells, and only restocks when 60% of the inventory is gone.
(sigh) How many times are you going to state that the Walmart prices are substantially less than in the other stores? That kind of redundancy is getting boring since Walmart is known for undercutting prices in comparison to the predominantly fabric/craft stores.

Firstly, I happened to be in Walmart to get an oil change, and looked at their yarn, it was a superstore and the yarn department was pathetically stocked, it's mostly acrylic yarn all made in China, you can expect less yarns everywhere just like the fabrics because we aren't doing as much business with China as a few years ago before #45 disrupted the trade with China. Joann has almost no new fabrics and it's mostly cotton, no heavy weights hardly at all, that's why all the pricing is so high these days..slim pickins.
