My mom just passed on the 30th, also her birthday and wedding anniversary. Her wish was to be cremated, and my dad honored her wish. I wasn't in agreement because I believe our body deserves to rest underground. But that's what my dad did, and it's done. I miss my mom so much, and I believe that it was just a body that was cremated, because her soul is alive in heaven. Rest in peace mom.
a body isn't "resting" anymore as a body than it is as ash, the person is dead, it's an inanimate object at that point, there is no function, it's just keeping the body wastes more land, money and space than ashes.

One thing I want to clear up for anyone who has been wondering, you DO NOT have to have a casket encasing the body in order for it to be cremated. It just needs to be encased in something. I've known for larger scale crematories that cremate between 40-50 corpses per day to just use duct tape and plastic sheeting or trash bags then place the corpse into a cardboard box before being chunked into the cremator to make the process cheaper and faster before the sifting process etc Which is why I recommend anyone interested in being cremated to talk to morticians that work at smaller or family owned crematories or funeral homes where cremation is done that way there's more respect given to the deceased and you're less likely to be given the wrong ashes as larger facilities place the remains in identical boxes.
sweet. Very popular these days. Why can't we bury our dead in the backyard and plant a tree over them ? would make more sense. A shallow grave makes decomposition go faster....
I watched a cremation video on TH-cam where the people were brought in o the crematory in large cardboard boxes. The people themselves were in thick plastic bags and put in the furnace in the bags. There were at least 2 comments asking what did they do with caskets, but in this video the caskets were burned with the person inside of them. I guess it depends on the crematory.
my papa passed away recently, he was cremated a couple weeks ago, its so difficult to think that the body of the papa i loved for 15 years no longer exists and is just now one with the earth, love you so much papa, fly high🥰😇

We have special made coffins for cremation here in Europe. 🙂 And using cardboard box is illegal.. So. And the coffins dont cost more than the actual funeral.
I agree with you nobody cares if you died well maybe if you have something to leave them but flowers and all that crap is a waste of money I done told my family I don't want anything fancy just burn me that's it my soul has already left so there's nothing there
I knew of a person that insisted on being cremated in his 24,000.00 casket. I think that was sickening as he could have donated that money to charity and been cremated in a 500.00 cardboard cremation casket designed for the purpose.
Whenever someone in my family dies, we get the relatives together for a couple days around the funeral. During that time we go to church, have dinners out at nice restaurants, and go on lots of walks in the woods. It's a nice way to honor our loved one and pay homage to the winds of time.
Freshman in my high school just committed suicide a few days ago and today she was cremated it’s just so weird to think this happened to her that she was just burned into ashes yet it feels like she was just here a few seconds ago. She will be missed #rip

My cousin is about to be cremated, he died a hero trying to save a friend in dangerous currents, he was only 20 years old and didn’t even get to experience his full life, he just had a baby that turned one month old 3 days after he passed. He was the very first grand child and nephew, he was very special to my uncles and mom because they were finally an uncle or auntie, he had a little brother which is 12 and a little sister that was 10 years old. Life is tough. RIP Gabriel
@@mistylover7398 kinda disrespectful to say, i wouldn’t say he killed himself, his intention was to save a friend, he risked his life to try to save his friend, just a friend, very kind hearted person
My mother was cremated. I was there when she unexpectedly passed. I watched this not too long after she passed. Just to k ow what she went through. I just about couldn't get through this video. It just blows my mind she is gone. Love u forever momma. Thank you for posting this video though, for explaining to me what my mother went through for her wishes. I have to admit though when it showed the casket igniting I just about lost it completely. But it is good to know what happens.
A container is usually required for cremation, even if it's just a cardboard box. If you don't want to purchase a casket, you can often rent one from the funeral home, the cardboard box will be placed into it for the viewing, then removed & cremated w/the body.
James, Stacey, and Kristi Crutchfield Jr I think the cremation services offered by funeral homes are a flat rate, that includes the burning of the coffin. They would have to dispose of them somehow, not like they are going to get used twice. they are probably considered biohazard/medical waste considering what they are used for, & that kind of stuff isn't cheap to get rid of either.
All the organic material (flesh and casket) will burn and vaporize. What remains is mostly bone, and most of that breaks into small chunks. Any remaining chunks are ground into a sand-like power. A down-side to cremation is that any dental fillings will vaporize as well... adding toxins to the atmosphere. Oh, and the funeral home will remove dental gold from the deceased. No point in wasting it.
The cremation process requires there to be some sort of receptacle in which the deceased can be placed. This is because it is being loaded into a chamber that is already up a very high temperature, which is needed in order for the process to work. It is similar to the way people tend to make sure the oil in a pan is hot before putting anything they wish to cook into it. It is highly likely anyone reaching into such a chamber would receive second degree burns. It would naturally seem a better idea to use cardboard but paper tends to turn more into soot than ash. It is also natural for people to form all sorts of ideas and theories as to what happens during this process as it is usually done away from the public. Viewing the casket can be arranged but because of extreme temperatures I think most crematoriums would disallow the public to be in the vicinity of what is going at the risk of someone getting severely burned (its is such things that large law suits are made of).
Lower chamber is raised to 1750 degrees...body is placed in a cardboard box at minimum, and put into upper chamber...which is room temperature or a little more, but not much...door is lowered, heat is then sent to upper chamber to start cremation process...
mike wright it’s not being a cheap shake if you’re dead 🤔 and who cares about getting a casket (not to mention JUST to burn it at the end) the only way to get one is if you don’t want to be cremated.
Last year 2019 my mom who had cancer she chose to be cremated. She got what was planned. Passed away this March 2020 and I really really miss her. My family and I might plan a trip where my mom loved to enjoy we will spread her ashes. Love you a lot mom!!

My mom was cremated yesterday. I kind of wish I’d been there. Learning about the process helps my brain accept that it’s not her anymore, it’s just her body. She’s at home with the Lord 😊❤
So sad I wasn't able to see my Dad for the last time since he was living in a different country. We watched his live funeral services and it just finished. He's being cremated at the moment. RIP Dad 🙏 To everyone who still has both parents, never ever waste any moment with them. Show them and make them feel how much you love and care for them. And to everyone who've lost their loved ones this year, my heart goes to you. Praying for everyone's safety wherever you are in this world. 🙏
Look into a Green Burial. Usually you are washed and wrapped in a biodegradable body wrap it does have different colors. Once in the wrap they dig a 2-4 foot deep hole. The you are placed in the ground and buried. Usually you can have a tree buried over you so your nutrients can help it live.
When the Vehicle (Body) that has housed your Spirit dies, that Spirit - or Soul- leaves the physical body. Only the shell is left. ❣️ There is *nothing* to fear in regard to death, or the manner in which mortal remains are catered to. The Essence that was *YOU* has already departed. My own preference would probably have been cremation but I feel that my husband would want our bodies to be interred together. That is why the burial plot for the two of us has been selected and paid for. Less hassle for our children to deal with when the time comes. 🌸 I have no idea why this video cropped up in ‘recommended’ haha, but if my thoughts help anyone then that makes me happy. Either way - burial or cremation - we simply have no further use for the *suit of flesh* which has had its day, so to speak. Onwards, and hopefully *Upwards* ....... 🤩 Best wishes everyone!

My friends mother was buried in a willow casket made by a family friend. She arrived in the back of a van and the casket was brought to the burial site followed by a brass band. She was buried in a field and a tree was planted at the head of the grave. After, all her belongings were gathered and everybody took somethonf away with them. Everybody wore colourful clothes. It was the most amazing funeral I've ever been to. No priest, no tears, no bank busting expenses. That's how I'm going out.
I never imagined loved ones were present during the cremation process. It must feel so jarring. Being there until the body’s true last moments, that’s true strength and loyalty. My respects
I lost my mom last may,we had cremated her body at Goodhope cremation ground ,also my dad was cremated 14yrs back it is very heartbreaking to go there again. I can't get over this feeling.
Why would anyone burn an entire (expensive) casket? Most sources I've viewed show the deceased being placed into a 'cremation container' (basically a cardboard coffin). Most mortuaries, however will rent a coffin if a viewing is desired.
Than why do they mention removing casket hardware? The video shows a casket being placed into the crematorium and the voiceover describes what might happen if the casket finish ignites first.
Trust me......the only time they cremate with an actual casket is when there is a family member present to view the deceased going into the retort!!! If there is nobody present to witness, the casket is swapped-out for a cardboard casket, and the original casket is re-sold!! I know this first-hand....it's quite sad. Buyer beware.....if the deceased or family member has opted to purchase a casket, try your best to have someone (perhaps an acquaintance) be present during the beginning of the cremation process.
I had a good friend that passed away three days before Christmas he lost his battle against pancreatic cancer I never knew he was sick cause he was always happy and patient but when I heard he was in the hospital I thought it was something minor but his wife said it was more serious than that when I got the news that he passed I was stunned it was like a punch in the gut I know a lot of people but very few I called friends and he was one of the few that’s why I attended his memorial service he had it at a crematory chapel and he was cremated that was the second good friend I lost three years before another friend died in her sleep have a massive heart attack I went to her funeral and I cried like a baby at her viewing she was cremated at the same place those two friends are like brothers and sisters to me and they are deeply missed that’s like two layers of my heart gone

My father passed away recently in my arms. He was battling pancreatic cancer for 8 months. He was cremated as well but I’m too heartbroken and sad that I can’t push the button to proceed the cremation. I let them do it. It was so heartbreaking to witness death firsthand and then having to watch your own father laying in the casket getting prepared to burn. He was with us for 40 years!
From most of the cremation videos that I have watched, the bodies are placed in a cardboard box and taped up. Then into the crematory. There is no need for an expensive casket to be purchased or embalming if the deceased is going to be cremated. Some people go through the embalming and the funeral only to have the body cremated later. This is a waste of a lot of money. But if this is the way that the family wants to go, spend all that life insurance money.
I like the cremation I seen where they just put the body directly in the fire with no box then, you just get get the ashes of the body and what they were wearing in the urn.
It varies depending on local laws. A lot of places require the body to be in an individual container, sometimes for health reasons, sometimes to ensure identification, sometimes for moral or superstitious reasons. Cardboard caskets make the most sense in cremation. It takes a lot of fuel and a lot of time for cremation when the body is in a heavy wooden coffin, though counter-intuitively it is easier to manufacture coffins from chipboard/fibreboard/mdf than cardboard - so the funeral director told me - without being morbid I found the whole process fascinating and me and the funeral director had a long talk about how it all works.
Most funeral homes have caskets you can rent for the viewing. You just slide in the cardboard box into the rental. Then you are only paying for, & burning, a cardboard box.
why is there a casket at all if it's all going to be burned? The reason: because the mortician wants a much of your money as possible by ripping you off.
Ha, I've heard plenty of stories like this one. There are many articles online discussing how the people at the funeral homes will try to up sell the expensive coffins, services, and grave sites, praying on people's naivety during this difficult time. Do your research before dying.
Raymond Callies People fall for upsales out of guilt. This is why preplanning and discussion is necessary. You may as well just throw the money in if you buy an expensive casket. Not to mention urns etc.
We have special made coffins for cremation here in Europe. 🙂 And using cardboard box is illegal.. So. And the coffins dont cost more than the actual funeral. Its a plain white coffin with decoration on.

Impossible, the body has had lots of work done to it, it has been drained of all fluid, the cardiovascular system has been filled with formaldehyde, the eyes, nose, mouth, urethra and anus have been sewed shut, you’re not waking up
This post has been the most entertaining I’ve read for some time. I guess it proves the saying “Laugh in the face of death, what else can you do”. Some of you have a practical approach to the end, some with a sense of humour and some who wish they had never been born. Well the truth is we’re born, we live and we die but it’s what happens in between that matters so make it matter, be the best you can be. You just might surprise yourself and enjoy yourself. But whatever happens remember what a miracle it is we are living on this little blue planet in the black void of the universe. Appreciate it each day.
Both my parents were cremated. I guess I knew how this worked but I've always felt great guilt about consigning them to a fiery end. As for me, I'm opting for a green burial. Wrapped in a cotton sheet and buried on my property up north. Perfectly legal in MN. Just need to have the site surveyed and recorded with the county. No embalming so it has to be done within 36 hrs unless you contract with a funeral home for cold storage.
maggots eating body in burial ground is more barbaric. Sometimes stry animals includig dogs dug out the corpse from the ground and feast on it. If you want to enjoy the horrfic spectre then you should visit some islamic country or countryside in your own country. 😮😅😊😢
Hiding from realities of life does not make them go away... LOL... I am sitting here getting quite an amusement from all the people being uncomfortable due to the subject of death.
Huge profits for casket. Cremation itself is rather inexpensive so they don't make much on that part. kind of like a restaurant makes its money off drinks and not the food.
You can use a cardboard box actually. Funeral homes usually have special rental caskets that have cardboard liners and a door at the bottom that allows the liner with the body to be slid out. Then that box is what's cremated. Cremating a multi thousand dollar casket is a terrible financial move but the funeral business absolutely will prey on people who don't know better. That's why it's best to research this stuff well before dying.
casey brinegar Why the hell would anybody cremate their loved one in cardboard pieces? Wouldn’t you want somebody in casket instead of CHEAP CARDBOARD that just shows how much you don’t give a shit about them? Also, how do you put a body in cardboard box?
we used cardboard, why spend money u don't have,,,,,,there is no shame, With the drapes u never know , But to have a showing u need to rent one, which is as much as buying,,,,,,,,,,,,u also must go thru the entire process embalming etc, BUT the funeral home some will allow up to 15 people to stay 30 minutes with the body in the cardboard and then to the oven, Its beautiful, They come in the world as natural as they go out, Ask the director when making arrangements also check fees not needed like mileage to pickup refrigeration etc, U can cremate for 800 vs the costs they throw on u, We cut the bill by 2/3 in extras, Or donate to University costs nothing you get them back in 5 months and pay nothing a memorial stone is also put in the walk of life for them, That's what we are doing,

My dad passed away a year ago this month. His last request was to not be laid out for a funeral or viewing. He wanted a simple cremation and to be scattered at a later date. When he was cremated, he was shipped unembalmed in a cardboard box labeled for human remains. Once they loaded him into the cremulator and got ready to start, we pushed the button to start his cremation...and that was it (we picked his ashes up days later at the funeral home) though it wasn’t a traditional funeral it is what he wanted after all.
I just stumbled upon this video and then realized that the bed i’m lying in is about 200m from this exact crematorium. This may be the strangest coincidence of my life.

I, too, have chosen to be cremated. This has become a family 'tradition' if you will, my sister and brother in law choosing direct cremation with no elaborate settings a cardboard box being sufficient as a container. Elaborate graves will all be well forgotten about in 100 years so cremation makes fiscal sense.

Do u have to be embalmed to get crea mations
@@tamraraitt5757No, especially in the case of direct cremations.
How on earth the family can tolerate to see one of their members left on fire to turn into ash!!
The ashes can be used as fertilizer to plant a new tree. There's my legacy im gonna live for another 200 years as a pine tree :)

What happens if you're made turned into coffee table and some fat smelly bastard puts his feet up on you?
sweet. Very popular these days. Why can't we bury our dead in the backyard and plant a tree over them ? would make more sense. A shallow grave makes decomposition go faster....
Think how many dogs will piss on you in that time.
Didn't know they burned up the casket. I thought the body was just wrapped in a sheet.
Me to! And caskets can easily go over $1000. Little did I know that part of the ashes are of the casket. At that point, I rather be shark food!
Just toss my body in the flames instead of paying thousands of dollars for a casket only to burn it

Madonna Borromeo Don't purchase a coffin.
Madonna Borromeo my father was cremated and the whole casket melts and the flesh so all the “ashes” are is crushed up bones
The thought of cremation just seems so violent to me. I don't know.

So basically it's not just the person's ashes it's the caskets ashes too?
All the organic material (flesh and casket) will burn and vaporize. What remains is mostly bone, and most of that breaks into small chunks. Any remaining chunks are ground into a sand-like power. A down-side to cremation is that any dental fillings will vaporize as well... adding toxins to the atmosphere. Oh, and the funeral home will remove dental gold from the deceased. No point in wasting it.
no. all organics disappear at this temp. only bones remain.
So you do get your money back on the caskets
Do not use a casket for me, what a waste! Use cardboard...
Usually to save money a temporary casket is used and it’s cardboard.I honestly don’t know why it showed a casket

Why would anyone burn an entire (expensive) casket? Most sources I've viewed show the deceased being placed into a 'cremation container' (basically a cardboard coffin). Most mortuaries, however will rent a coffin if a viewing is desired.
Michael Witkowski they switch the casket out before burning
Than why do they mention removing casket hardware? The video shows a casket being placed into the crematorium and the voiceover describes what might happen if the casket finish ignites first.
Michael Witkowski they remove metal off of the casket they switched out
Priscilla Vincent The body should be in a container but it's not logical you must purchase a casket. It can be as simple as a cardboard box.

Kathy Owens
Kathy Owens bolso

Morticians do this because the body goes wherever the casket goes. Like when we bury people, we keep them in the casket. It's traditional.

notice how they use a casket and not cardboard? hmmm its always tied to money isnt it?
Also, how do you put a body in cardboard box?
we used cardboard, why spend money u don't have,,,,,,there is no shame, With the drapes u never know , But to have a showing u need to rent one, which is as much as buying,,,,,,,,,,,,u also must go thru the entire process embalming etc, BUT the funeral home some will allow up to 15 people to stay 30 minutes with the body in the cardboard and then to the oven, Its beautiful, They come in the world as natural as they go out, Ask the director when making arrangements also check fees not needed like mileage to pickup refrigeration etc, U can cremate for 800 vs the costs they throw on u, We cut the bill by 2/3 in extras, Or donate to University costs nothing you get them back in 5 months and pay nothing a memorial stone is also put in the walk of life for them, That's what we are doing,
Ksee no everything is free... stupid response. When you do your job don’t you want money?
i lost my cousin on the 10th march this year, we were also best friends, i stayed at his house every weekend ever since i was 2 years old, sadly a seizure took his life away from him the day before i was going to see him, he was only 18. it's my 18th on Saturday and we planned to do so much together the last time i saw him, its upsetting that i can't do it anymore and that I've lost my cousin so young, he got cremated and put in beside his mum that he lost when he was only 18 months old, i'm glad he's not suffering anymore and back in the arms of his mum but i'll forever be sad that he's gone :(
I swear this sounds like an advertisement for a 5 star hotel...
Being someone who does work at one I can confirm it does
Lost my grandfather on 25th Feb, 2020. He was 90. I had his cremated. Now i'm 18 years old.
my grandmother's just passed last night. I need some words of encouragement, if any of you would spare some. I miss her so much.
koots I am so sorry fo your loss. I know how it feels to lost a grandma. My grandma passed and I wasn’t around when she died. May her soul Rest In Peace. I hope you will find comfort from this poem as I know I do. Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.
I'm sorry for your loss😭! You will see her again. 😇
Idk why I watched dis cuz it made me remeber my only older brother, Vincent who died last year (2020) on a Sunday on Steptember 6th. and they cremated him. I miss him so much. RIP Vincent, you'r one with the wolfs now.
Can't believe they recommended this during this Coronavirus pandemic times.
LMAO!!! 😷🤭🤣
I'm seriously applying as a crematorium operator BECAUSE of the coronavirus.
Nazis prooved you can dispose of millions of corpses burning them like thirdworlders burn their garbage.

Well, cremation of dead bodies _is_ the safest and most hygienic method when preventing the spread of dangerous diseases is a major concern. Typhus is one such example of this, Ebola is also.
@@bxundxm how do firstworlders burn theirs?
Watching stuff like this makes me hope i die before my parents so i dont have to witness my favorite people passing
But then your parents will witness _their_ favorite person passing
Trust me that would be a lot more painful for them. Parents want there kids to outlive them. Atleast good parents should.
Really selfish honestly
@@juststuff9796 look death is a confusing thing takes some mulling over
From a parent point of view I don't want to be here when my kids die
Ooooops i was here bcz of Bob Collymore...
Rest in peace boss

Im going to be cremated on Thursday love to know the cremation process.
why waste a casket ...no thanks a cardboard box will do
My body is a property of Earth's soil so no cremation needed for me.
Vegito Son well said
Yeah I believe burning body dates century's ago and was considered pagan custom
Not for me...
Volcanoes create soil too sometimes
Such a pretty room. Could use some furniture in nice seating groups, maybe a small bar for refreshments... I dunno, just a thought.
I lost my grandpa in Russia on Monday night. And he chose that he wants to be cremated. I miss him so much! That I watched this video to know what to expect during his process. :(
My mum recently passed away and I needed to know the process, thanks
Sorry for your loss, I hope you're doing as well as can be expected. X
My husband Passed 2 weeks ago I wanted him cremated we didnt have no insurance
I'm very sorry about your husband. I lost mine 22 years ago this month. May your husband rest in peace. And I hope you get the comfort you need. Take care.
I am so sorry.
God knows I'm trying not break down I witnessed a cremation front row and center for the very first time in person last Saturday morning as we laid my father to rest to this day that's all I dream about. Not only was I the one who closed my father's casket but me and his wife placed our fingers on the button and pressed it to start the cremation. REST IN HEAVEN DADDY WE LOVE YOU FUCK CANCER !!!
God bless
teuila siitia sorry for your loss. God bless you.

I lost my dad oct 28th. I know how it hurts. Time will make things easier.
God bless you
My dad passed away a year ago this month.
Here after Cameron Boyce 🙏😭

Same here!😭😭
I wonder how many of us have cried while watching this.
“ The casket is gently pushed”
*throws the casket into the oven*
I just stumbled upon this video and then realized that the bed i’m lying in is about 200m from this exact crematorium. This may be the strangest coincidence of my life.

I can cremate people at home!

Because my Uncle Jim died recently and is going to be cremated in the next couple of days, I watched this video to learn how cremation works.
I am going to be cremated, besides what does God our Father says Absent from the Body Present with the Lord, so I will be in Heaven Paradise in my New Body, I will not know what is going in in this world down here Amen"!
I, too, have chosen to be cremated. This has become a family 'tradition' if you will, my sister and brother in law choosing direct cremation with no elaborate settings
a cardboard box being sufficient as a container. Elaborate graves will all be well forgotten about in 100 years so cremation makes fiscal sense.
So my grandpa passed away on Monday 10/28/2019 at 10:16 a.m and he’s a military, I found out he was gonna be burnt to ashes based on the military rule. I’m gonna be heart broken on November 15th to see him be in a container as ashes, it’s already heart broken without him😭❤️
Mortician jobs and hairdressing are the only jobs I can really see myself getting into. This kinda stuff fascinates me
Someone has to do it, it may as well be someone who is suited for it.
So thats what will my grandfather through tomorrow . Thanks for the information pal... , he will be back to ashes and be one with earth... , this make my day a bit better....
So collymore went under this process...Rip Bob
Cremated is so final like nothing left of that person I'd rather be buried
And rot away slowly and take up space for ever till they decide to put a building up
@@Joiedevivredesilives yup my decision
@@Joiedevivredesilives I want to be buried so my body can help create conditions for living things to grow, from plants to animals

Thank you, this was dignified and explained nicely
I don’t know why on Earth I looked this up. I just lost my Grandmother who is being cremated and this just resurfaced those feelings of sadness. I just wanted to know. This process is so hard. It’s hard to let go! 😢
