I appreciated hearing your thoughts on this one. I keep going back and forth on A Man Called Ove; indeed, I believe that I donated my copy to the charity shop a few years ago.
I have read My Grandmother Sends her Regards and Apologises and it sounds like it deals with similar themes. I thought it a great portrayal of a child grieving, and the way that stories can help a person find solace. We see a young girl discover things about her grandmother and has something of the tale of found family in there.
Either way, your review has made me reconsider heading to A Man Called Ove. I do want to read more Backman in future, but maybe Beartown is where I should head first.

Hi Christina, ok, so happy holidays to you. Ové was a great read. Beartown was captivating cause I felt so close to the characters. You don't have to read it again to read the other books, as Bakman gives a recap in the other books, so just go ahead and read them, a lot of readers didn't like this cause it's like wasting there time cause they already know this . The last book drags on and he should have shortened it. the other books in the series is very average, I wouldn't be in a hurry to get to them.
