Wow...the supporting musicians are superb. First off was the bass player holding down the groove...then a brilliant keys solo and finally nice lines by the guitarist. Keith is stellar. Not fond of the white shirt and horn but that’s personal preference!
Man, oh man! Back when I was in high school (2011-2015), I fell in love with this man's drip! Still like it, actually. That horn.... I wanted one, but I'd never play it. I'd have it set up next to a Raven Stone Series (that dark brass of course)! But, I stopped playing often back in 2016 when life hit me like a fuggin Cargo Ship.
Oh, the unbridled joy of Cannonball funky jazz! The horns swing, the rhythms sway and my soul takes flight! The Cannonball band's infectious beats transport me to a bygone era of hip cats and cool cats, where the music is hot and the vibes are hotter! Let the horn section blow me away! ❤️
I wish my band would mix my horn like this. I blowing my head off. I’ve got to let them hear this. Great playing and tone Keith, and I love the white horn.
Awesome arrangement!! Keith Anderson style really fits this Sly cover song. The solos were pleasant and upbeat, I could play this a million times! Which I played back about a dozen times! 😁 Really Nice all around.
I don't even listen to straight instruments but this here I feel it all in my soul I love this here!!!!💙💙💙 Awesome I haven't heard nothing else that compares😍😍😍
Does Keith Anderson have any CD's available. Keith and Gerald inspired me to play again after 50 years. I bought a used Cannonball Alto Sax from a pawn shop in town. Had the local Cannonball dealer rehab it for me and now the rest is up to me. I'm almost 70 years old and still love the Sax. I don't have the wind power I had when I played my Bari. I'd love to buy the Gerald Albright Edition Sax later if I can pick up where I left off in 1966. I better start saving my money. Love your music and Cannonball Saxophones.
Yes he does. Keith is my cousin by marriage. Well he was married to my cousin they are divorced now. Spent tons of time with him and his son. He's an awesome guy ... Raced go-karts with him too. He does all kinds of stuff in his free time
Age is just a Number; your spirit is our emotions that we have yet cant unlock in a horn or any instrument until we are trained and let the fire in us out. Love it ...its yr emotion coming out and we are listening. Yes! Feel it, sleep with it, and give it.
Excellent cover of a song we all love. But if you check out Sly and his band in Tokyo 2008 Jazz Fest they played with fewer musicians but still hold the Gold crown on this groove. I still like your work though.
Keith, I have been a fan and have loved your playing since the first time I saw you....the night Emerald City (think the place was called Venice Beach Club) made you their new sax player when Mark Early moved. You were spellbinding even way back then. Love all these clips done with The Cannonball Band...slick and tight and this is a great sounding arrangement and song.
+Mark Rybiski I cant add any more compliments than have already been given here ,just was curious if the Emerald City act you mentioned ,There was an band out of Dallas by that name that I thought were excellent back in the late 80's early 90's I was fortunate to catch on our dark night while playing the Summit Hotel there ,walked into this little club on our dark nite just looking for something to do and found it when they (EC) hit the down beat good band for sure
maybe its just the lighting but is keith Anderson playing a white lacquered sax with black keys? I saw on the website that u had the same horn but with gold keys. I know u guys make custom orders so I was just wondering.
+Steve O'Gorman ....not like Keith needs anyone to defend his level of musicianship. Steve does your resume include playing, touring and recording with Les McCann, Al Jarreau, Marcus Miller, Roy Hargrove and most recently Prince? I can assure you Keith is a far more advanced player than you are giving him credit for.
Mark Rybiski I see... I didn't realise because he's played with all those guys and I'm just a mear nobody I'm not allowed an opinion on this one solo, in this one piece of music. My bad.
My band got to open for The Family Stone Experience and what an honor and privilege!!
I caught this by happenstance while trying to fall asleep at 3 am 07/23/2024, now I'm all hyped. I hit that subscribe button! ❤️🎶👏🏾
This is where I started. Music in the garage. San Francisco. SLY and the FAMILY mixed instrumentalist . GREATNESS HAS ARRIVED
Energy this guy is w/sax. .oh, dear Sly we love you, ya never forgotten.

I love their cohesiveness, sax player’s tone quality is spot on, great guitar solo too. Overall I dug it. (5) Stars.
Great Smok'in Funk! Outstanding! 🎺🎵🎶👍
Always love what a bari brings to a horn section…

I wish my band would mix my horn like this. I blowing my head off. I’ve got to let them hear this. Great playing and tone Keith, and I love the white horn.

It’s like The Undertaker has a trumpet-playing, less-darker brother. The third, more well-adjusted brother who still has soul.
Good looking keyboards.
Tá louco pra lá de ótimos

Beautiful
Well done. Worth buying
Love this arrangement!
Keith Anderson es el Rey. Sin duda es el mejor saxofonista funk de toda la historia. Él es mi inspiración diaria.
I f*cking lived it! Had my head bobbin' and all that!
INSTANTLY SUBSCRIBED!
🎉🎉Excelente 🎉🎉
Prayers for Keith Anderson!
Wonderful artists ❤
Wow!
Fantastic! Thanks for sharing.
greats version love music thanks
Excellent
Ok. I accidentally got on this page. But y'all go head and do y'all thang...that shit hot
I hear some Kirk Whalum influence on Keith Anderson's tenor playing. Very tasteful.
I play sax but all I can say to kieth is WOW!!!🎷🎷🎷🎷

cool jam track, thanks dudes!
awesome
Sly told you he was a songwriter, a poet
buenísimo..
Nice one bro ❤
Nice...!
Brilliant
Sweet solo, Byrd.
Sweet!
Good job bro!...Reminds me a little of George Howard!
very nice
What saxophone reed plays solo guy, cane reed or synthetic reed? Thanks!
Nice.
Mi ritorna in mente. Dorsey Dodd che suonava l' organo Hammond e che piaceva tanto a mio padre ed anch'io ascoltavo con piacere
I'm shocked that several songs credited to SLY STONE aren't jazz standards.
❤️✨

I just tried to Custom Order one. Cball called it their NPG Prince finish. It can only be ordered by Prince or a current member of their NPG 🥲
Anyone know the notes that was played on the trumpet for the lick?
Steve, of course you (and I too) are both allowed to post our opinions and views. I don't disregard yours....mine just differs.
Mean Dude Mean
Where is the trombone section
Keith was channeling some serious Kirk Whalen.
whos the girl on the keys?
Kenji is one bad "A" guitar player!
agree !!! dam
I'm suing... No safety belt warning!!!👍😎👍
Yeh but you should hear Sly's original.
fucking amezing!
N-Credible!!!!
Se konsa Cadence Rempa te ye wi
EXTREMELY decent!!!!....
play that sax...
i came
if this comment doesn't get 1 million likes i cut my ween off
Great rendition, the sax is wonderful, but a little too dramatic with the dancing....let the music speak-which it did.
Keith sounds like Kirk Whalum to me. Not like that's a bad thing.....
Keyboards, no wonder they all turned.....
It would be better if the bassist was playing the correct notes!!
At least the guitarist understands the harmony, in stead of just the blues scale with a few altissimo notes.
+Steve O'Gorman maybe kieth was going for a more simply approach... less is more
+Steve O'Gorman ....not like Keith needs anyone to defend his level of musicianship. That was a killer solo, period. EVERYBODY played their ass off, but that was a great especially on a Tele.
Sweet!
