  • In todays video we see a local contractor at work power-harrowing and seeding grass with a stunningly restored Fiat F140 and a very nice Renault Ares. They were very friendly and we had a nice chat, thanks to them for putting up with me.
    Filmed in Cumbria, UK.

Now that’s an engine note!! The day’s when an engine sounded like it had power unlike today’s adblue machines. Love the Renault Aeres to, two great 6-pots. Lovely video Jacob, great to watch and listen too.

Thank you David, glad you enjoyed. The Fiatagri is one lovely machine to hear, filmed this with my good mic too so it should sound just as I heard it irl. Shame how quiet some modern machines are, with the exception of the New Holland T7040, which sounds incredible. th-cam.com/video/OINH1GiZ2yU/w-d-xo.html

Yes the older engines had a rawness and bark to them unlike those of today. Was up in the Scottish Borders at a good friend’s farm yesterday watching and filming first cut silage and he was using his 290hp NH T7.290 (that replaced his T7040) on the forage wagon, a very impressive machine but also very quiet despite it’s power!

It's a shame as you just don't get that growl of an older engine anymore. Normally sounds like more of a while when a more modern tractor is under stress.

Yes, they lost their bark that you always got with a 6-cylinder engine.

Thanks Tim, It's a brilliant thing to hear. Don't know another of these Fiats about here so very lucky that the one that is about is so local.

My ole boy drove one after he left the contractoing to a road works outfit it was an animal, down one hill in Londonderry she was revving right out of the clock down the hill never gave any bother at all. No-onw wanted to drive her before my dad started but he changed the filters and adjusting the foot throttle to give full revs an stuff she ended up being the best tractor even outpulling a supposed set-up F130 on the hills leaving her sitting

Sorry for missing this, seem to miss a lot of comments. It is a brilliant tractor, really glad they decided to restore this one. Not so often you find imacculate examples these days. It's a sound you can't miss, and a tractor that keeps on giving no matter how old it is.
