Spring tillage 2024 - Ploughing comences in Cumbria, Valtra in the Eden valley.

At work here amongst the Pennines, this is ploughing in preparation for the planting of spring barley with a Valtra T series and Kverneland plough. Sorry for the wind noise here, I accidentally left my microphone at home.

Cheers David. I'm back in Shropshire now annoyingly so I'm missing all the action at home, although the potato planting down here is like nothing you'll see anywhere else, 16 tractors in one field... Hoping to catch some silage soon as I noticed a few have started around Penrith!

16 in one field! That’s incredible! Yes things are kicking off now the better weather is here, haven’t caught any silage making yet but I might have a drive round this weekend and see if I can catch any taking place. Cheers, David

Very nice to see some spring work, looks fairly dry too, been up Cumbria today chasing Steam trains and the weather was terrible with fields stood in water, and the wind was enough to blow you of your feet ??? 🥶🌧🤔

Thank you Steve! Yes the weather has been terrible, I think this is the only plough I've seen in the last 4 weeks, really hoping it dires up soon and we can catch some drilling action.
