Your trail run in Wales looks absolutely epic, Ben! The breathtaking scenery and challenging course make it a real adventure. Thanks for sharing your experience, and kudos for stepping out of your comfort zone to explore new places. Keep up the great work, and may your future adventures be filled with even more stunning views and exciting challenges!
Thanks Mihai! It was truly an awesome day out on the trails l. I had such a great time. I am already looking for more races in the Welsh mountains. Thanks very much for all the support mate I really appreciate it. 😎🤘
Another amazing video Ben,I was worn out just watching it. Your comment about “what goes up must come down” made me smile but it was so true. Congratulations Mum x
Thanks Reto! It was a top notch local event! It deserves to be more known than it is. Well organised and supported with a great course. Thanks veryuch for watching mate. I need to catch up on the UTMB training. 😎🤘
I am very jealous of your training ground Francois! Its epic mate! It was a top race too mate I think it could be a good one for you for sure. Bet you would place highly too. 👌 Cheers for watching! 😎🤘
This will not get the views it deserves but then you do not have the amount of subscribers you deserve either. Thank you all the same for your endevours at bringing epicness to the masses Ben. Congrats on a great race.
It's all about quality over quantity for me JBS. I would much rather have a top bunch of subscribers who like to interact like you than a bunch of faceless / voiceless numbers on a screen. Glad you enjoyed the vid mate and I think that could be a good trail race for you to take on in the future mate. Put those poles to good use for sure. Thanks for all the support buddy! 😎🤘
Just found your channel…so glad I did! What a beautiful vid, makes me so homesick (I live in Australia now, originally from Lancashire) Epic race, awesome run, congrats 🎉. Stunning scenery that you have captured so well, looking forward to watching more, thanks for sharing 😊❤
Sorry about the homesickness Mel! Glad you found the video enjoyable though. I bet you have some super places to run in Aus. I would love to visit one day. Thanks for watching I really appreciate it! 😎🤘
There are some beautiful places to run….when it’s not too hot 🥵 If you ever plan on coming for a visit to Perth WA you are very welcome to stay with us 👍🏻😊
Amazing Ben! What a race, looked absolutely stunning out there, epic views to reward the relentless climbs 😀 Great job of capturing the race too which can't have been easy with all the gnarly rocks and slidey bits around. Super work 👌
Cheers Ben. We got really lucky with the weather especially in November. It's well worth considering that race for 2024 mate I think you will love it! Take Carla along too. Thanks for watching mate! 😎🤘
Wow Ben this looked epic mate !! Beautifully edited to might I add. I was saving this one to watch when I properly had the time , to give it a really good watch and i'm glad I did!! Superb mate .....well done once again. That scenery reminded me of the Scottish Landscape from our Hills. Hopefully I'll capture some of that next week for you. Top Effort mate !!
Thanks very much Stephen! It was an awesome race. Really looking forward to seeing what Scotland has to offer. Patiently waiting for your next video on the WHW mate. Thanks for watching I really appreciate it! 😎🤘
Ben, a great video as always with a professional edit with a great opener and a great choice in music. Obviously the scenery must have helped on this occasion. Bet the local hills in Guildford were insufficient training, for once, as those Beacon hills looked really tough. Most impressed as always especially with the speed at which you deliver your video output. Keep it up.
The scenery was very inspiring Richard. Gave me loads of creative thoughts as I was running. The hills around here can't compare but I think I did enough to help me get up the mountains. Thanks very much for watching I really appreciate it. 😎🤘
Nice video and running Ben! Some really nice views, I've never been down that way! Funny when you said that you have done 12k..... there was so much nice scenery that it felt like you'd done longer.
Cheers Marc! I wish I had more time to explore even more of it. Such an epic place. There was always something great to look at. They did a top job with the course. 😎🤘
WOOWWW!!! Awesome running and awesome filming!! BRAVO!!! The opening there straight out of The Shining, Kubrick worthy!!! Tell me, has 30SomethingMike been having an influence on your filming and editing?? Or maybe just that MAGNIFICENT scenery!!!! Awesome!!! Btw Ben, I got another 24min marathon PB last Saturday at Cognac!! 😅🥰😃💪🏻🏃🏻♀️💪🏻 I am absolutely totally over the moon!!!!
Thanks Bev! I wish I was half as good as the legendary Mr Mike! I would love to see what video he could make of a race like that. Huge congrats on the 24 min PB! That's awesome! Huge chunk to take off your time! Big kudos! 🏅😎🤘
@@BenNotley THANKS Ben, it's an overwhelming feeling ... I was secretly hoping for 5 or 6min, but I NEVER imagined that, lots of tears at the finish line!!!😁🥰 I don't know how you guys manage to film and chat while running, it's incredible!!
Well done Ben - top work. When I saw the tow path I wondered if the ups and downs were just going to a few bridges like they seem to have in Hertfordshire but no up popped an actual mountain. Bit disappointing no doubt that there was no shake out run the day before so we could not spot anybody infamous for a split second :) Never mind the scenery somewhat better anyway.
Glad there wasn't any elevation along the canal as we passed under bridges instead of going over them. I have heard on good authority that that type of racing / trading can be brutal! 🤣 Thanks for watching Tim! 😎🤘
Congrats on another EPIC run and thanks for taking us along. Hope the Instinct vest is going well. Being a UD man like yourself I ended up getting a Raidlight 18L vest as I liked the pole storing options on front/back and it looked the goods. Time will tell. Only 190 days until I fly in from NZ to tackle the London2Brighton Challenge. Can't wait to run your local trails. Cheers mate!
That's very much for checking out the vid Shaun! Loved my first Wales adventure and I am sure I will go back for more races in the future. Been really enjoying the Instinct Vest. Very comfortable and functional. I will do a review of it at some point. Not sure it's going to be super breathable for the summer because the fabric is a bit thicker that the UD vests but it's built really well. Like the sound of the raidlight. 18l is decent storage mate. That will soon fly by buddy I look forward to heving.you over on our trails! 😎🤘
Cheers for checking it out boss! It's a top race for sure mate I think you would enjoy it and smash it too. Right up your street for sure. See you on Tuesday mate! 🦁⚡
It was a superb event Gez! Really well organised and supported. Jacob's ladder completely ruined my legs 🤣 Thanks for watching the vid mate. I really appreciate it! 😎🤘
Not surprised you lost the jacket early on, I was wondering why you had it on. Great area for running in the Beacon Beacons, I've some top memories from running there. Looked like you had some superb weather for the run Ben, loved the footage mate & well done with the race 😀 Looked busy on the top! Well done with not letting that other runner overtake at the end #strongfinish 👍
It was amazing weather for November mate. I think I kept the jacket on because I was freezing at the start 🤣 it's such a epic place to run I look forward to doing more running there in the future. That runner behind me was the winner of the ultra. He smashed it in 6:30. Thanks for watching Martin! 😎🤘
What a great running adventure that was!! Fantastic video as ever mate and a truly wonderful place to run. I've only ran there once before and just loved it so much! So how come you didn't do the ultra?
It was awesome Phil! Really enjoyed my first Welsh adventure. I look forward to seeing your Druids video mate. I decided to do the marathon because the ultra route doesn't climb cribyn or pen y fan it just does 2 laps excluding those climbs. Thanks for watching mate! 😎🤘
Ben please, I was just wondering, it looks like you used your new Mafate Speed 4s for this race and I wonder if you would kindly say a little of the pros and cons you've found with the shoe so far please?? Or maybe you're planning to make a video about them? I am hoping that you find them far superior to the Speedgoat 5 in muddy conditions (which Lee Runs Ultras called the Slipgoat😂, which I have to agree!!) and do you find the fit the same as the Speedgoat? THANKS Ben... I'm finding it a little challenging to find exactly the right trail shoe for very long days as I break into trail ultras!!
No problem Bev. I really like the Mafate. The underfoot comfort and cushioning isn't much different from the SGs maybe slightly stiffer but more rebound. The outsole lugs are much better in slipper wet conditions I have found. They are slightly chunkier and work nicely. You do however notice them slightly more when running on the road but it's not so bad that it makes it a bad experience on the road. At this time of year here in the UK the mafate has been working pretty well for me. In terms of fit it hugs the midfoot quite nicely because of the extra padding on the tongue and it has a wider toe box than the SGs so if you have wider feet it might work better but overal it's still a slightly narrow shoe. I use the same size as my SGs and they have been fine. I hope that helps a bit. 😎🤘
@@BenNotley That helps enormously Ben, thanks so much for that, so kind of you. From what you say they really sound like just what I need actually for this time of year, so that's convinced me to pull the trigger on a pair I found online for a really good price!! They will help keep me running all through the winter for my big 50k trail race next April 7.
@@BenNotley They just arrived and I just slipped them on and fell in love immediately!! Can’t wait to take them out for a spin on the trails this evening, but they look way too pretty to get dirty!!😂😂 Thanks so much Ben!!!
I've heard you say a few times that you aren't great at running fast so you run long distances instead. Mate, you're like boss- level greased lightning on these long trail races 💪💨 Was hoping you'd try to pronounce the new name of Brecon Beacons. Not sure exactly how it goes, something like Bonkin Breffnickynog I think😅
