Very much appreciated Aztecross' approach on new player experience as a streamer. People usually would just bombard the inbox with gifts, especially the ones that affecting the gameplay, and ruin the authentic experience as a new player.
Yeah I think gifting catalysts, forma, slots or cosmetics are fine but as soon as they start gifting weapons, frames and such, there'll suddenly be whole chunks of content that they as streamers just never have a reason to play.
Well new players that end up in our clan, get traded a “starter pack of mods” and Ignis Wraith BP for an ammo drum. There are already 1800 comments on this video, so I'd imagine that this one will get buried, but I just wanted to correct something that your chat was not getting across correctly. Warframe, is actually free to play. It isn't like path of exile where trading is just to speed up the process. Because you can trade platinum from player to player, and because there is no "ultra premium" currency that can only be bought for money. In warframe you can turn your time into platinum, and you should. The reason I bring this up is that you have 900k subscribers, and I truly wish someone with a big platform would push this narrative out to more people. You do not save time in warframe by spending money on platinum, or by flipping rivens, only. You can literally go fishing and trade the fish to other players for platinum. You can run deimos vaults. You can crack relics. Hunt rare mods from certain bosses. Basically imagine if destiny had a system where you didn't have to grind everything, but instead you could grind the things you really wanted to grind, like trials, and then you could trade your extra trials god rolls to someone else who only wanted to raid. THAT is the warframe system. Some things you might find fun other people can't Fucking stand, so you trade your extra copies of things to those players for platinum, then you go and use that platinum to buy things you are either too early in the game to access or that you find tedious. Please I hope that you will show this to your community, there are far too many new players who get into warframe and think that they have to drop $500 just to get started becasue they don't know of any good ways to make platinum.
My first Kubrow was a Sahasa too. I always held on to her, 6+ years and 1100 days in she's still my favourite and most used companion, and the equipment I've invested the most Forma in (by a pretty big margin). She eats Steel Path Eximus for Breakfast. Today she killed Stalker in one or two hits before I even saw where he dropped in. Take good care of that puppy, they're the best. The next Dog Days event is still a ways off (end of summer) but if you make it that far, farm her a few "roller floofs", they're decorations, big beach balls that your Kubrow or Kavat will hilariously pounce around your ship.
First Descendant just looked at Destiny and Warframe and said "can we just copy that system but charge more for less/worse gameplay, story and content?" I'm pretty sure that was the entire pitch.
To go with the "community made" discussion. i've always wondered why Bungie didnt keep and evolve the whole creative aspects they created in Halo 3 and Reach with Forge and Custom games options, File Shares (and my extension theater mode for a "photo/Film mode") all of those social aspects that made Halo 3 and Reach great. I've personally always felt like PvP could've solved itself long ago if it was treated the same way they did with Halo, by having player made Maps through "Forge" voted by the community added to the map pool or in a separate playlist and same with modes if the custom games feature was as extensive. Even for the non PvP players, having a Theater Mode that would record Strikes or PvP Session and you could go into it to take Photos or clips would've given another layer of creativity tool for ppl that loves doing that.
Been playing warframe for 10 years, have 5k hours in the game. Cross goes on his first spy mission and takes the most complicated route to vault A that I've never known existed. Just shows no matter how long u play this game u can always be surprised or learn something new.

Mad respect to Cross for sticking by the “no gifting” rule. It reminds me of when i started out in Warframe and earned everything I wanted to have. Still goves me pride that I played a majority of the game and managed to grind out both Nidus and Equinox without having to spend plat on acquiring them.
If you jump while crouched/sliding, you will perform bullet jump, where you character does the spin leap, in the direction you are looking. If you aim down sights while in midair, you will instead begin to aim glide, which cuts your vertical moment, but doesn't effect your horizontal momentum. You can roll in mid air, and you have an single air jump, which will reset off being grounded for any fraction of time. You can kick off of walls as often as you want. This counts as being grounded. There is an obstacle course that can be built in the dojo, if you want to get better at movement, you should check that out.

@@epicbrofist6531Warframe also didn't copy anyone. They made mistakes because they didn't have a blueprint from another studio to copy. TFD literally copied Warframe IN IT'S CURRENT MODERN STATE, and purposely removed the parts of the game that were fair or under monetized. That wasn't an accident. If they're going to copy a game so heavily, why change the exact things that Warframe is highly praised for (the monetization/fairness) into a worse state that only benefits the profit-takers?
A few little tips from a L4 nerd: 1 - Whenever you do Survival missions, you don't have to immediately use the life support; you can rely on the personal modules that enemies drop to keep you at 100. It's only when you get about 35-40%, do you use the life support towers. 2 - There are many breeds of Kubrow and Kavats (kitties). Each have a different and unique abilities on each of them. You can also interact with them in your ship. :) 3 - Each celestial body has resources that are tied to them. You can craft extractors and assign them to a celestial body. They will collect the resources for you. 4 - Appropriate Assassination nodes and the WARFRAME QUESTS will give you Warframe parts. For instance, Thermisto on Jupiter will give you the Valkyr Warframe if you farm that assassination node specifically. Or like how you did in this video, Fossa, to get the Rhino Warframe. 5 - Trading is helpful. People are very reasonable with prices. Like how you asked where to get the Fetch mod. Say I traded you, I wouldn't ask plat of you. I'd just say put an Ammo Drum. Essentially, it's "free". 6 - Always keep these three things around: Orokin Reactor, Orokin Catalyst & Forma. Oddly enough, the reactor and catalyst are called potatoes. And POTATO means: Potent Orokin Technical Augmentation and Tactical Offensive device. Forma is a valuable resource that allows you to add more mod space onto your Warframe. However, it will reset your Warframe back to rank 0. Don't worry, your mods will still be there. 7 - There are mods for your parazon. One has a chance to automatically hack consoles for you. 8 - Warframes have real world references. Excalibur - King Arthur's sword; Volt - a measurement of electricity and Mag - short for magnetic (also super attractive. 😉) 9 - All Warframes are progenitors. Meaning, they belong to certain elements, and can be used in later content.

Welcome to the club Tenno, great to see you're having a blast. It's a cake that's been years in the making, for some of us it been a tasty bite for a while. The new player experience isn't necessarily ideal but warframe is the gift that keeps on giving, a labour of love that has been there for many years for us.
Look that lvl 10 Grineer Butcher was clearly a grave threat to everyone involved, the only way to ensure safety was clearly to hit him with integer overflow
There is a warframe that only have 1 minute crafting time on all its components. You have to get all his components. It's called Limbo and you get his components either from Duviri circuit or from his quest. Limbo is hated by most of the community though. Then there is a warframe with only 24 hours of crafting time named Koumei which is a new warframe added not so long ago. Her quest/grinding area is on Earth. She's meant to be a warframe that new players can play with early on in the game which is why she has way lower crafting time than all other warframes aside from Limbo.
Limbo isn't hated by the community. People who don't know how to use limbo in a squad or people who intentionally use limbo to troll the squad are hated by the community. A good limbo player is loved and adores by even the most hardcore of players. It's because Limbo is the only frame whose entire kit can negatively impact the rest of the team's effectiveness when not used correctly. He's the only frame who if misused can literally prevent other players from being able to hit a target in the center of their crosshair.
@@jazzyjswift ^ This! Yes! The fact that Limbo mains have a lot to consider, their own playstyle, how their teammates gonna play in the missions, and adapt to any situations on the fly. The best tip to improve your bullet jump is also knowing when to aim glide in between bullet jumps. Took me a couple hours before i got good at the movement.
Warframe: My Newest Sponsor Regardless I’m glad you’re finally trying it I used to be addicted to D2 as well and played it from launch to Neomuna and now play wf full-time
The biggest difference between WF and TFD is the movement system and combat flow. It's not even close. TFD you get a crap grappling hook and a roll. Warframe you get to run around like a parkour space ninja on crack. Blows my mind they decided to basically copy WF 1 to 1 and didn't give us any of the movement/combat flow.
honestly, that might've been a bit TOO obviously copy-pasted. copying a few mechanics (even major ones) from another game is one thing, but copying almost EVERY mechanic is wild.
@@avaliantsoul5408 It's one thing to take inspiration, but it's another thing to be lazy with the inspiration. TFD didn't even improve on their copied system. They purposely inflated the mod capacity cost to the point of weapons requiring more Formas than a general Warframe build. That is worse.
To help you out a bit with the jumps cross, the usual movement for warframe is Bullet jump (jump while sliding) double jump, roll, aim slide then repeat youll get it down glad to have you along tenno!
Not sure if its mentioned anywhere in the comments, but one way cross could actually participate in the trading is for him to keep a track of the plat that hes bought, and keep a track of how much hes earned by selling items himself, that way if he does come to a decision in which he wants to buy something/rush something ,it'll be with what hes earned instead of what he has purchased himself. Just an idea.
Once you get the movement done, it flows soo good. Also the game gets more overwhelming the more you progress through it. Been playing since necros prime came out and I still feel lost at times.
Mactics played through warframe and had his chat gift everything under the sun to him. He basically played through warframe without ever having to properly grind, so thank you for telling people not to gift.

So fun remembering what it was like to be a new player. Love your commentary. There is so much all at once. You just think you know everything and then find out that there's a bunch of other stuff you could/should be doing. Eventually, it will fall into place.
Unless you have plat, you will not have wukong today. They take 72 hours to craft. And 12 hours for the other 3 pieces. At best, you can have a new warframe in 84 hours, if you start all the components at the same time. If you're collecting the blueprints and starting them individually, it will be longer.
3000+ hours in and I am still not a fan of this system. It comes off as so mobile gameish. I think it exists to not overwhelm new players though, at least that's my head canon.
@@aersla1731 tbh, I like it. 2500hrs in, and I've never rushed a thing. i see it more as a good stopping point for a session. It serves as a solid natural stopping point for me, though i can understand why some people don't like it. The fact that it doesn't literally kick you off the game is nice, you can keep farming, push towards a new goal, but its a good place to log off. the one thing I'd change, is shorten timers by 1-3 hrs, so that if you hop on at the same time every day, its ready by your next session, instead of right at the end of your next session.

Very much appreciated Aztecross' approach on new player experience as a streamer. People usually would just bombard the inbox with gifts, especially the ones that affecting the gameplay, and ruin the authentic experience as a new player.
this. I can understand boosters, but all the rest just ruins it.
This goes back to when in early game you got flawed versions of continuity and intensity and may not see real copies of them until you where at Neptune or Uranus. Tfd did improve on it a little, once a polarity is there it's always there so you can forma a mod slot to have every polarity possible which is something I would love in warframe
@MortalTempest yes but in TFD you cannot experiment with builds because of how expensive their forma equivalent is to buy/ build. And you need almost every slot for an endgame build. While in warframe 5 Maybe 6 max for a weapon

The first Descendant was SO utterly shameless in stealing everything from both Warframe and a bit of Destiny 2 lmao
Killing enemies to the beat of never gonna give you up while flying around the map is a joy no other game has given me so far
First Descendant just looked at Destiny and Warframe and said "can we just copy that system but charge more for less/worse gameplay, story and content?"
I'm pretty sure that was the entire pitch.

Watching Cross play a game I first started nearly a decade ago is so surreal but welcome
So glad to see him enjoying it. It’s fun watching him learn and I’m excited to see more keep it up cross.
A few little tips from a L4 nerd:
1 - Whenever you do Survival missions, you don't have to immediately use the life support; you can rely on the personal modules that enemies drop to keep you at 100. It's only when you get about 35-40%, do you use the life support towers.
2 - There are many breeds of Kubrow and Kavats (kitties). Each have a different and unique abilities on each of them. You can also interact with them in your ship. :)
3 - Each celestial body has resources that are tied to them.
9 - All Warframes are progenitors. Meaning, they belong to certain elements, and can be used in later content.

She's also really, really good.
Limbo isn't hated by the community. People who don't know how to use limbo in a squad or people who intentionally use limbo to troll the squad are hated by the community.
A good limbo player is loved and adores by even the most hardcore of players.

The true end game in Warframe is fashionframe and helping new players.
Finally got Cross on the warframe train and I’m excited for more
Not sure if its mentioned anywhere in the comments, but one way cross could actually participate in the trading is for him to keep a track of the plat that hes bought, and keep a track of how much hes earned by selling items himself, that way if he does come to a decision in which he wants to buy something/rush something ,it'll be with what hes earned instead of what he has purchased himself. Just an idea.
Once you get the movement done, it flows soo good. Also the game gets more overwhelming the more you progress through it. Been playing since necros prime came out and I still feel lost at times.
Going to be very fun when he starts hitting the newer era if development and sees just how big this game is and how much they have expanded

Unless you have plat, you will not have wukong today. They take 72 hours to craft. And 12 hours for the other 3 pieces. At best, you can have a new warframe in 84 hours, if you start all the components at the same time. If you're collecting the blueprints and starting them individually, it will be longer.

Ngl cross... you should definitely farm for Gauss and take him for a spin
he has to literally complete 90% of the star chart first not happening any time soon
@wkkqewqaver7766 but I'm gonna wait for his ass to catch up
@@HeavenlyDemonicEmperorhey man i agree👍 warframe is a marathon not a sprint.
man, i hated the grind for gauss. I love gauss, love playing my build so much that i bought the prime access when it came out and made the same build. But i was months on that disruption trying to get all the bp, by the time i got the systems for the first time, i already had more than 50 copies of the other 2 pieces
@yayco123 💀🤣🤣 agree man that's tuff
hi tenno my only advice to you is to focus on unlocking planets and doing the story mode is the most important thing for you at the moment, doing builds of all kinds will be welcome on the farm i mean warframe ;)
Damn, he’s already calling the story peak and he hasn’t even gotten to the real story yet lol
D1 beta vet and Warframe Founder here. Glad to see you’re enjoying Warframe! Much respect for not dipping into trading yet! I would love to see Bungie implements some ideas like housing and clan houses, companion allies, NEW CLASSES!!!!

So glad the warframe community is very willing to help and communicate with new players. Been loving these warframe videos cross.
Love watching you go through the game. Everyone saying vets just enjoy seeing newbies play and learn are right. And remember, fashion frame is the true flex of Warframe.
stick with it. warframe is a game that only gets better and better, I can't tell you why- just trust.
Watching another Tenno's journey will never get old. Hope you have the most enjoyable experience as you join our fold!
We all lift together!

Wonder how he'll react when he learns he can customize his HUD
UI Themes and adjusting the HUD elements are kinda hidden at first but WOW make the game your own
