    Nebraska had such great kickers during this run. Henry and Maher. Man if we could have one of those guys now.

    Coaching is everything in today’s game! Urban took this same team and went 12-0 the next season!

    it must be wild to be a QB and see what the crowd sees and hear them react to what you see, and WHEEEE TOUCHDOWN!
    NU Football magic - where the fans are basically on the sideline, in the booth and on the field... :)

    One thing that you see in this game and why he became a pretty decent pro is Burkhead's patience.

    Gosh back then we were all going at martinez and the defense blaming them. but in the end it was poor coaching.

    Bo was right. We’ve sucked ever since. We led the league in grad rates, our recruits have never been the same.

    Weird to see Nebraska ranked and Ohio State unranked. Very weird

    • @m00t53
      @m00t53 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Dick Richardson Doesn't change the fact that Ohio State was a blue blood going into this game and that history and recruiting was very much on their side. Glad I could help

    • @m00t53
      @m00t53 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Dick Richardson It was a general statement. Ohio State is very frequently a top tier program, especially compared to Nebraska who seldom ever has good seasons nowadays

    • @deelo881

      It's normal to go unranked for a few years when you're between scandals

    Great win for Nebraska, but let's face it, had Miller stayed in the game, Nebraska more than likely loses this game. Glad Miller went out, however.

    • @beng4151
      @beng4151 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Dwight A Maybe. Nebraska was waaaaayyyy better on defense in the second half.

    • @dwighta8655
      @dwighta8655 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True, Ben. And it seems like a lot of teams that get big leads in the first half, just find a way to lose somehow. The turnover by David changed the game. That, and Miller getting hurt.

    • @dadestarmysteries255
      @dadestarmysteries255 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We were already coming back and set to come within one score before losing Miller would have been a factor. That didn't start the comeback. We scored twice and stopped them twice before they had a different qb. Our offense still would have scored, but losing Miller certainly helped seal it because that backup was worthless.

    The calm before the storm. Since this season
    Buckeyes have gone... 99-10, 1 natty, 3 cfp appearances. Countless 1st round picks. OH!!. Also 16 out of 20 seasons(2000-2019)...double digit wins!! This season(2011)being one of few. Season after this undefeated

    I think it is amazing that Nebraska is almost always ranked in the top 25 at the beginning of the season! This team only has about 15 scholarships to give out and they not all free rides either. This team DEPENDS on walkons and tend to do well with them. Now take Ohio. they have 33 schcolarships to give out. you do the math.

    • @m00t53
      @m00t53 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You mean they almost always begin the season in the top 25 and almost always end it unranked lol

    We haven’t had NFL players or off field kids since Bo. We should have been more patient.

    Ask yourself if NU would have been better off sticking with Pelini even though he could be an asshole. It wouldn't have been near as bad as Frost.

    • @notiowegian
      @notiowegian 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Firing Pelini should have been done in 2012 after the blowout loss to Wisky, and done in competent way. Pelini deserved to be fired, the fact the AD and search teams were continually incompetent has nothing to do with the inital decision. Solich deserved to be fired, Cally shouldn't have been hired. Bo should have been fired but Reilly should not have been hired.

    Still can't believe the buckeyes lost this, why the hell do you throw with your terrible back up qb with a multiple td lead... Run the football.

    • @beng4151
      @beng4151 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Tim Horvath Because they couldn't go into conservative mode. Nebraska was coming back. They ran the ball quite a bit with the lead, but they didn't just sit on it.

    • @Jabberwocky237
      @Jabberwocky237 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ben G not necessarily, the Buckeyes were running the ball well to that point. It's not conservative when it works and gets first downs and keeps the clock moving. Throwing 10 times with the back up qb who was only able to complete one pass in a quarter and a half when they only threw it 8 times with Miller the whole first half and until he was injured doesn't make sense strategically. You built the 27-13 lead (score when Miller went down) with running the ball, that's how you finish it.

    • @beng4151
      @beng4151 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's in the first half. They ran it quite a bit on first and second down. On one play, they lost 3 yards making it 2nd and 13. You fault them for calling a pass?

  • @notiowegian

    Bo Pelini's dream was to coach for Ohio State. At the pinnacle of his success at NU the legendary coach at OSU gets fired and replaced with a young lost assistant coach, OSU plays NU and NU beats them in a memorable game. He had to have thought he would be the next coach at OSU in his deluded minded. After this game he was recorded criticizing the fan base for leaving early(although the weather was miserable, and he had been blown out many times already), and he basically said he was already gone and they could kiss his ass on the way out...what an idiot.

      You don't sound like tru Husker to me. Does this only apply to opposing teams players being hurt? Did you say the same thing when Nebraska had players hurt like Martinez and 4 offensive linemen hurt? Have to play walk ons and they lost games? Or did you say the coaching sucked?? Newsflash..... A WIN IS A WIN!
