ISU Player Attacks Rex Burkhead
มุมมอง 575K14 ปีที่แล้ว
Iowa State layer tries to injure Nebraska Running Back Rex Burkhead by twisting his neck and ripping off his helmet. The ISU player was not penalized, but Nebraska Fullback Tyler Legate was flagged for "unsportsmanlike conduct" for protecting Rex by pushing the ISU player back.
Tyler legate went to my high school
One thing that you see in this game and why he became a pretty decent pro is Burkhead's patience.
Nebraska had such great kickers during this run. Henry and Maher. Man if we could have one of those guys now.
Bo Pelini's dream was to coach for Ohio State. At the pinnacle of his success at NU the legendary coach at OSU gets fired and replaced with a young lost assistant coach, OSU plays NU and NU beats them in a memorable game. He had to have thought he would be the next coach at OSU in his deluded minded. After this game he was recorded criticizing the fan base for leaving early(although the weather was miserable, and he had been blown out many times already), and he basically said he was already gone and they could kiss his ass on the way out...what an idiot.
We haven’t had NFL players or off field kids since Bo. We should have been more patient.
Bo was right. We’ve sucked ever since. We led the league in grad rates, our recruits have never been the same.
Bauserman = Nebraska MVP this game.
Incredible game GBR
it must be wild to be a QB and see what the crowd sees and hear them react to what you see, and WHEEEE TOUCHDOWN! NU Football magic - where the fans are basically on the sideline, in the booth and on the field... :)
NEBRASKA IS GOING TO BEAT #2 MICHIGAN THIS WEEKEND. I BELIEEEEEEEVVVVVEEEEEEEEE
Epic collapse Fickell got better 😎 at Cincinnati
Everyone knows Nebraska only won this game because Braxton got hurt. He was terrorizing them all night
Nebraska fans always crying about refs 😂
F Iowa State for this
And people wonder why Bo would get upset...
Isu is getting as bad as lowa.
And the ref should be fired. Dum blind sob
The fact that 48 had to be flagged at all for defending rex was bullshit. Refs were working so hard against big red in this game in general, but flagging a player for saving his teammate from a potentially career ending injury is ridiculous. Especially considering rex's success in the NFL now
Horse shit
Look how the ref just lets his arm dangle in the air like he enjoyed throwing that flag against Nebraska smh
one of my favorite Husker games.
Ask yourself if NU would have been better off sticking with Pelini even though he could be an asshole. It wouldn't have been near as bad as Frost.
Firing Pelini should have been done in 2012 after the blowout loss to Wisky, and done in competent way. Pelini deserved to be fired, the fact the AD and search teams were continually incompetent has nothing to do with the inital decision. Solich deserved to be fired, Cally shouldn't have been hired. Bo should have been fired but Reilly should not have been hired.
Don’t forget Mike Riley aka Mr Rodgers. That was the low of the low.
This was clean. It’s just bodies getting tangled up
Great officiating...NOT!
I support players that intentionally injure, I’m ok with it.
This is almost as bad as supposing shark"attacks"
Wow! Cornhuskers leading a game after three quarters.
The brief malaysia currently glue because sparrow tribally nod along a giddy fur. spectacular, lavish banana
Lmao and they call the penalty on Nebraska. Sometimes you just have to laugh at how truly trash some ppl are at their job.
he was trying to injure him? highly doubtful, but he was very close to a facemask penalty and probably would have been flagged if a ref saw it, unless I missed it no ones helmet was ripped off by anyone in this clip. I also noticed that no one was attacked either unless I missed that as well. Finally the Nebraska player was rightfully flagged for coming in after the play was over and pushing the ISU player. he got caught that's on him whether you think it was justified or not doesn't matter it was a penalty and he was caught. Nebraska hasn't been good since Tom Osborne left just be glad they scored a touchdown against another team that wasn't that good either.
Old guy at the wrestling matches used to yell: TWIST IT! TWIST IT!
had no idea that nebraska was ever any good at football. was that ranking a fluke?
Back when Nebraska was ranked lol 😂!!!
If I had seen my tammate getting assaulted like that, I would have got in a major fight as well. That was dirty as f
Thats football.
Eric Crouch: "Meh. That's nothing."
What a pussy move
That was not cool. Necks are off limits.
Typical of Big10 refs. Completely ignore a flagrant penalty by Nebraska’s opponents but then flag Nebraska for a BS call.
47 dirty player
That was such a bullshit call on Nebraska 😭
dang
Who else is seeing this on their recommended 11 years later
I noticed that Nebraska was ranked #7 and I'm thinking, "oh, must have been when Bo Pelini was the Coach". Sure enough. I bet they wish they had him now...what a sad decline that program is in.
That's how referees handle Nebraska. They beat that ass fair and square on the field and still get penalized constantly.
Refs did their best that year to make sure we didnt leave the conference with the Big 12 title.
Rex' teammate kept his neck from being broke. F that guy that was doing the head pulling. F the refs.
Rex got rings... Iowa tried its best...
48 tried to snap his neck back in place
Big 12 refs same with Eric Crouch kstate game NO PENALTY!
