It hurts when there are so many good super cheap foundations. For me personally, even if i can technically afford a 55$ foundation, it would hurt so much to spend that much money on a thing that first of all will get expired, and that it does not have gold or anything because girl 55 for something so basic...

@@TBGFP it used to be something people got mocked for a lot before it suddenly became trendy online and especially people with a lot of visible freckles still get comments like "wash your face" and so on.. Aside from that, from these videos it looks like she has no freckles at all so it sounds hypocritical of her to say she uses this make up technique to cover them up. I personally don't use tiktok so I only have the material from this video as reference

AS A MAKEUP ARTIST seeing her apply the amount of foundation, was sooo incredibly wasteful and not necessary .. also the lie about the amount of foundation you need to cover frickles is UNTRUE and its just showing young girls to cover and mask yourself completely to ''be pretty'' which is sooo untrue and toxic.... DID i mention the WASTE of product??? ... haha
Yes! You don't need to be a make-up artist to understand that just a regular amount of full coverage foundation will cover everything. I mean, look at 2016 beauty influencers. Their faces were washed out

Crazy how influencers fake things like this. How hard is it to be yourself? You can't keep up a lie forever, and being an honest influencer people can trust is better than being a liar.
Ok, but they see a temporary drop in morals to be worth whatever money/clout they might get from it.
And I hate to say it, because I hate this fake stuff, but the bump in views for it is undeniable, even with the algorithm helping out. We can say how much we hate it, but until we stop watching it, it’ll continue.
Hmmmm It’s not particularly necessary for influencers to be authentic, it’s like playing a character. Or like in customer service, workers are supposed to be more cheery and friendly than they are normally. Because it’s more appealing for business. That would be considered professional, even if it isn’t honest. Honestly, it’s not the end of the world for influencers to be fake. Its just like sales person pushing a bunch of product that you don’t need, it’s the typical business model

I personally don't understand how this kind of shocking strategy works. When I'm watching shorts and I see something that's obviously over exaggerated or too noisy, I just swipe right away. But if it works, it works I guess 😂
Because this content is largely made for young people, I can't imagine anyone above the age of MAYBE 15 is enjoying this kind of content unironically.
Because people can't HELP themselves BUT to comment/engage with videos like that. They HAVE to have THEIR opinions known. Realistically, they'll stop doing it when we actually stop watching it. But we won't so.

I’ve always said, the influencers aren’t really the problem - the audience who keeps clicking, keeps commenting, and engaging with the ridiculous content are the problem. Do you watch instagram or TH-cam shorts? Because I never had TikTok but I’m still so addicted to instagram. I do have quite good content I’m really interested in but I can just spend hours. And then I switch to TH-cam or Facebook which only lasts luckily like a minute because it’s so dumb but still the addiction 👹

@@trevillinghonestly I deleted tiktok and Instagram exactly for that reason, while I can't get rid of youtube shorts there is a way to make them dissapear temporary by not interesting all the ones on your feed, they'll go away for like 10-20 minutes (some people have said they go away for hours but mine usually come back quicker) I'm hoping they'll make it a removable option
@@trevilling Yea, I will occasionally fall into the reels and shorts rabbit hole. But I know when I should get off and do something else productive. But I guess another thing that helped me was that I was posting on TikTok for public views but on Insta I mainly post for friends and family so it feels like less pressure and societal pressure that helped with my mental health.

Make up TikToks are useless to me. The things I need explained if I’m going to buy or use a technique: like various ways of applying and (the biggest) what it looks like after hours of wear are not covered. Also under blushing and under contouring is an old technique. Jackie Aina did a much less extreme version of this years ago that I actually use. It’s pretty forgiving. But Jackie also did a thorough explanation of this technique in a longer video.

I'll never have or watch TikTok. You watch clowns, expect a circus! New technique that is underpainting. MUAS have been doing it for years. Or do the whole routine than apply foundation. That is the reverse make up. Since 2018.
I've never liked blush, it's always been scary for me. I'm afraid of putting too much on, but I need it in my beauty routine lol. I always with a little bit and start slow and apply more if I feel I need more. But this, had just escalated my fear of blush even more.
