Thanks Animal for doing a"big on basics" with the Higa monster, got to meet him this summer at rum 7,he is an awesome lifter and person,I talked to him alot at the meet and he was very willing to answer alot of guestions ,and gave me very good advice on lifts i was having trouble with,he reps ANIMAL and its products very well. Thanks Again animal.
Hands down one of the best videos on TH-cam. I have a tendency of cramping up around my hip area trying to warm up for squats but with all these tips and techniques it definitely helped a lot thanks animal and keep the videos coming!
PROPER professional, seen a lot of fitness youtubers giving their opinions as they're learning themselves, which is cool but really great to see an actual pro at it. Brilliant advices and presentation! Makes it looks soo easy.
Very good video. It's the small things like warm ups, foam rolling, and basic set up that can make a world of difference. I feel the small things like this are often looked over. Picked up a few new things to do too haha.
Sweet video I just started squatting a couple months ago and I just bought the Nike squat shoes I was using the regular trainers before and yeah I could feel the squish ness for sure especially when walking out now nice and hard worth the cash for sure....I can't wait to start hitting some big numbers.
if your feet are properly lined up, you'd feel the pressure on the high spot. But like he said, they should be on your peripheral vision for small adjustments
I don't know if anyone will actually answer this but I constantly do my heavy squats with no shoes on at all (Bare foot). Something I should be aware of? Bad for the arch of the foot or something? Shoes really necessary?
Not that whoever admins this page has the power to do this, but I'd enjoy a Big on Basics with Derek Kendall. For Squat. Not that Higa or Boss or Eric aren't phenomenal, I'm curious how he'd go about it.
I don't think there's any point in rolling the IT band, its an incredibly tough and hard piece of tissue, rolling it with a pipe isn't really gonna do anything, not even a barbell
no bullshit, no lies, just straight work...best lifting company to ever exist period
Excellent video. Great info and I love how much information you provide.
Awesome vid Higga and Animal. I am always looking for ways to improve and I think these warm up tips will def help.

seriously some good advice here. Love these videos.
Higa is the man. He posts some great stuff on his Instagram as well. Would like to see more videos with him.
I am more impressed of him box jumping than squatting heavy! xD
Awesome stuff. Would love to have a squat session with Higa
Higa Monster is the man
If you don't look down your feet may not be lined up properly so wouldn't that effect your lift if they were off?! 10:00

this video is sick i really have to start rolling i dont even know why i dont
Great video...I ever thought about rolling BEFORE my squats. I am going to implement this on Sunday Skwaat Day!
I started squats, I start by foam rolling the quads, glutes, calves. My form has gotten better because of stretching and foam rolling
@1:46 someone please fix that guys deadlift lol
I think you've probably learned by now but he's doing that on purpose
it's called a deficit stiff legged deadlift
Hey look. Its my gym!
Will start rolling my legs etc out man I have that issue thanks Animal!

great video from a great guy sponsored by a great brand
Is it just me or does he have incredibly small legs which would make the squat much easier. It looks like he barely has to move. Still respect tho
Its called short femur.
