That is what people will think and then they will put it up against others like I have and say oh shit I think I prefer the Cyrus that surprises me and there is the real value for money right there
More power on paper doesn't really mean that much in practice, I compared the Cyrus to two amps with hundreds more watts on paper and that is not what you hear as any difference at all. I cant speak for Heed but if that is what you like its what you like man fair play
I do know about power on paper …. And I am not into buying new ⚙️ gears. I’m happy with my SUGDEN A21SE SIGNATURE PURE CLASS A and it’s around 40 watts per channel. What I was trying to say was that with that kind of money one has multiple choices…. Thank you for all the videos you create and as an audiophile and high end audio businessman with more than 40 years of experience from Tehran Iran and importing many magnificent brands under exclusive basis; hope to see you at one of those shows, shake hands, have beers 🍻 ( pistachios on me ) and chat 💬 a little more about our beloved mutual hobby. 🤩
Not my cup of tea but the fascia/display is extremely well designed. Also nice to see they're still using discrete class AB amps and don't earth ground the chassis.
The only reason why i never considered Cyrus older lines was because of aesthetics. They look to me at least like car stereo's. Like the cleaner lines in their new line.
Im just not a fan of touch controls… I prefer solid buttons. Interacting with HiFi products adds to the experience just as much as looks or functionality
@@PursuitPerfectSystem Sounds great, looking forward to it - here's hoping for a bit of comparison with the Essence, as I can buy it for the price of a 333, but have a hard time auditioning them back-to-back.. :)
I have not had the essence here in some time so I cant really say much on how they are I would need them all here. I have the 300 and 333 so basing my video on that comparison
I would like a CD player of the same size and similar look but maybe I could not afford it. I love the compact size. I also fear that electronics that are too complex could fail more than simple things and that thing has way too many connections that could potentialy fail with time and or heat IMO.
Sounds like an upmarket second system for the well-heeled enthusiast who already has a better system but wants something good, uncomplicated and up to date.
Only if you like the classic Japanese hifi look that’s been similar for a very long time, yes it’s very nice but I am glad it’s not the only option available
@@PursuitPerfectSystemTrue, but most oldies, like me, are grown up with the old Japanese looks, and are somehow addicted to it. That’s why they still make it, I assume. And Audiophiles are most time older people enjoying the old Woodstock times. Anyhow, I love your reviews a lot!!
Imo, Rotel is the best performing Japanese amplifier brand these days, beats Yamaha in A-B tests - lower noise floor, more detail but less bright, fuller mids, equally good bass.
You might be getting confused when several units are stacked, some of the shots are just the amplifier some are.of the units stacked because its how the system looks as whole is a big part of the picture here.
Does this new amp support "AV-Direct" allowing you to drive the front channel speakers from a surround sound processor/receiver? All other Cyrus amps/pre-amps had that feature.
When did you hear any of these and have time to compare them to the others? Also your not getting products from Accuphase, Mc or Rose for less then these? In fact in reality the AMP 40 with the power supply upgrade will hang with the Mc MA352 for £3k less, different sound but it will hang with it.
Or I am just speaking from experience having had all the products here now or recently. People make assumptions based on prejudgement and I get it because I do it as well, I am terrible for it. Just wait until you have at least had a chance to have even a little listen and then come back to me after. Then I will take any and all criticism you feel is valid.
@@PursuitPerfectSystem can you give us that price point comparison? Because I'm thinking NAD M10, Arcam new range or even good Marantz amplifiers. Really like Cyrus but I think some manufacturers are overpricing their products.
I am waiting to get my hands on the new Arcams, the Cyrus holds its own more with the M66 M23 rather than the M10. The M10 is lovely but its power limited due to its size so it depends on what speakers and room size and volumes you listen at. They also all have a different sound character. I talk about this in the upcoming 40ST review. I havent listened much to the new Marantz to be able to say much about them sorry. If you have them narrowed down best to go and listen for yourself you will know very quickly what you like.
If they are easy to open I generally open them and show the insides, especially if it seems a big part of the design or story is inside. However that is not always the case and it doesn't guarantee anything about the sound, nothing in fact but its cool sometimes the see the internals I agree. Cyrus generally do their own internal photos or video so I am sure you could find images if you need them.
To be fair the ? is based around a very subjective question with nothing being more subjective than looks. That needs to be decided in the flesh especially with this amp or series because at first your not sure if you like it, because it seems overly simplistic. Then you go and look at others and think actually these look a little dated to me now when they didn't before and then you go back to Cyrus with a different frame of mind about its looks. The way light hits them is different thanks to the glass, I tried my best to show this but its hard.
@@PursuitPerfectSystem thanks for your answer, I just wanted to make fun of the click baity title. So many reviews have nowadays titles like" the best amplifier I ever heard?" or "the prettiest speaker I ever saw?" I actually like the new design by Cyrus. But I think still, Linn's Selekt or Klimax DSM even more appealing. Yes, that's a hint or a wish for a future review 😉
Yeah I agree I was struggling a bit for something interesting for the title and copped out here. My favourite one to hate is this product destroys all others because that is a blatant lie not just an a play on words or something clever or a twist, its a blatant lie that is never substantiated.
Best looking hifi review video. Keep up the great work.
I wonder what their more affordable offerings will look like.
Thank you for noticing, I am always working hard at it
Glad to see that they finally got away from their '80s car stereo aesthetic 😂
I think it’s a little bit on the overpriced neighborhood but I truly admire Cyrus.
That is what people will think and then they will put it up against others like I have and say oh shit I think I prefer the Cyrus that surprises me and there is the real value for money right there
But I will go for HEED for a compact form and lesser money and of course the Italian Gold Note IS-10 or IS-1000MKII😊 for more power and features.

Nice review! I love this redesign phase. First Arcam and now Cyrus. They both went from ugly duckling to swan! Of course taste is personal 😅

5:49 can you connect a power cable with a large IEC plug or does it clash with the Pre Out connections?

Yamaha has the looks and the sound quality you ever need, or an Acculhase, or Luxman. It’s that simple, or isn’t it?
