Nahida has hur burst grass spawning while she floats. And floating characters do have the nice detail of not leaving water ripples while hovering in the Fontaine, Inazuma backgrounds (which is basic, but a nice detail).

Fischl is doing a similar motion to one of her idles but the animation looks completely different.

Some of the stuff that's "just idle/e" are because they pretty well capture the character. Like Faruzans is very straight to the point and on the nose, but tbh i really like it for that. I'm not really sure what else i would choose, beyond something almost the same but with the burst style polygon instead.
Although I do not agree with a lot of his ratings I do think Nahida's is way better than Childe's. I don't mind them "reusing" old animation as long as they change it enough to be more pleasant as an entrance animation, but Childe's wasn't that different from what we'd usually see, or should I say it didn't feel different, while Nahida's does, hers is so much more dinamic and playful compared to her idle. That said, putting Xiangling low but YaoYao in S tier baffles me, Xiangling's is so good, and it also has Guoba interaction.
The fact that there are no sounds makes it so much worse. When this whole thing got leaked, there were few videos with edited sound and it was amazing. Even many of the "worse" animations were still kinda nice with some sound effects. That aside, I don't think that reusing idle or skill/burst animations is necessarily a bad thing, as long as they look good and fit the character selection vibe. I think that was especially true for Childe, Xiao, Chongyun and Cyno.
None of the animations are reused. It's like the one good thing they've done. Also, Xiao's is at least B if not A. You're not going to get something flashy, but at least incorporating accessory elements and/or adding particle effects is nice. They may look similar but they are not. I'd have to confirm Yun Jin's though, I think that's the only one that literally reuses an animation. Edit: Tell me you haven't seen Qiqi's burst animation without telling me you haven't seen Qiqi's burst animation.

Nah I think what he's saying is that the dice was too big for her hand even at the point of contact, so if you really look at it, it kinda looks like the dice just disappears for a bit. I kinda get where he's coming from though personally it doesn't really bother me at all.
From my understanding, he thinks that hoyo tried to do a perspective thing where she throws the dice closer to the camera and grabs it after (which doesn't look right if that's the case and why he disliked it). But in reality her animation is probably just that her dice changes sizes, simply as that.

Ayato's animation is NOT the same as his idle, he's carrying the water sword he uses in his ult and skill, while in his idle he poses differently with the regular sword you can equip him with.
Ayato's is not his idle, it's the animation that plays after his burst if you stand still and do nothing. While it is a pre-existing animation, it's one you never really get to see so I still like it a lot.
This tierlist is a fun idea, but it really comes across as an unnecessary over-critique of a nice feature. Searching for things to complain about to justify the tiers just brings a negative vibe. (Also imo the tierlist itself is just wack, the characters with fully new animations got underrated)
i thought this was supposed to be a ranking based on the quality of the animations, not based on originality like yeah some of these are similar or identical to pre-existing animations, but those animations are still good. i get it's lazy but if it fits it fits
I still like Raiden's the most personally. I loved when she did that move in her teaser back then and she was my first limited 5 star ever back when she came out so I might be biased but I think it looks so cool.
kazuha has a cool ass sheathing animation after his ult and nahida couldve just swung on the swing imo my opinion may be wrong but in general i hope they continue improving this, i like the idea and think more effort to polish it would be awesome
The fact that Kazuha's animation doesn't let you see the Raiden symbol when he sheets his sword cause they decided to put the camera on the opposite side is baffling to me
They could have done so much with Kazuha tbh, and we only got a basic sheathing motion, and not even a new one at that. I know he's basically the symbol of Samurai/Ronin whatever, and maybe they did change the animation a little, but it doesn't feel like it at all

But considering his personality I would have liked an entrance that had nothing to do with swords and maybe more about poetry, or the wind itself since he can understand it, or even his leaf idle but modified enough that it looks like he just arrived while playing it and lets it fly away to the wind in a more noticeable motion compared to the idle. normally he's just down to earth and i respect him for that but lately he's become so negative about everything, i went to watch his live but i couldn't stand him complaining about everything in this new update, there are definitely things that could have been better but he couldn't have bothered to learn how swimming works, complaining about the controls you can reassign in a minute, it's one of the smoothest controls out there. I think he should take a break from genshin as he is clearly not enjoying it, he is on his way to becoming a second Tectone.
I think I dipped into only highlights channels after HSR. It seemed like he was having fun during it, but every time I tuned in, he was being so negative, and it felt like it was just being negative for the sake of being negative, because I guess that baits more engagement in chat or smth? It's just not a vibe that I... well, vibe with. Still probs the most GOAT'd EN TC we have in Genshin tho, so I'll always be here for that.

Then he started ranting about how he would end up accidentally pressing the button on land (on PC the dive button is also the button to switch from walk to run, you can literally reassign it to a button you don't use so you don't press it by accident), he also ignored the tutorials that appeared on the screen. He later complained about how disappointing this patch was when he didn't even try to properly engage with it.

The way Zajef aww'd at Yaoyao's (12:43) is so relatable. When I scrolled through my character list to mentally rank my lineup, I thought I'd be upset if Yaoyao and Hu Tao didn't get an S. Honestly expected Nahida to score one too, though. The pose seems more natural when you get zoomed out and see that she's floating, I guess. Overall I'm kind of disappointed with the effort they put into the guys' poses, imo only Wanderer, Lyney, Albedo and Venti have gotten good ones (though I haven't seen what Itto does). Zhongli can be excused because it's in character for him to show off as little as possible, though.

I'd rank Noelle's way higher. Not S, but it's a strong A in my opinion. It's small, but captures her heartwarming politeness very well in a way her gameplay animations don't get to reflect. And it stands out as one of the very few animations "directed" at the player in some way. Other characters show up or show off their attacks somewhat threateningly (I mean, Mika looks like he notices us while reading and then faces us ready for a fight), but Noelle just greets us. It's just so hecking cute.
i really cannot take he put childe on C just because his animation "This is him pressing E" LMAO.. but hey that your opinion.. But if only he pay attention to his Pose, his dagger spinning in air for a mili second, his cape, his face entering this state.. i mean attention to detail like that is crazy enough to me knowing mihoyo do care to him by looking back that he is their first difficult in term of character development (back on beta from what they say in their livestream)

I don't mind them "reusing" old animation as long as they change it enough to be more pleasant as an entrance animation, but Childe's wasn't that different from what we'd usually see, or should I say it didn't feel different, while Nahida's does, hers is so much more dinamic and playful compared to her idle.
That said, putting Xiangling low but YaoYao in S tier baffles me, Xiangling's is so good, and it also has Guoba interaction.

Nahida idle is just her sitting on the swing, not swinging out of it into a pose.
The fact that there are no sounds makes it so much worse. When this whole thing got leaked, there were few videos with edited sound and it was amazing. Even many of the "worse" animations were still kinda nice with some sound effects.
That aside, I don't think that reusing idle or skill/burst animations is necessarily a bad thing, as long as they look good and fit the character selection vibe. I think that was especially true for Childe, Xiao, Chongyun and Cyno.

None of the animations are reused. It's like the one good thing they've done. Also, Xiao's is at least B if not A. You're not going to get something flashy, but at least incorporating accessory elements and/or adding particle effects is nice. They may look similar but they are not.
I'd have to confirm Yun Jin's though, I think that's the only one that literally reuses an animation.

Yeah Yu Jin is reused, like you said. But you can argue with Ayato's, it's 1:1 of his burst animation (after he slashes). The only difference is that he stays still instead of the sword vanishing at the end. Like Yun Jin's
Beidou's animation is also been reused. It's from a cutscene when we are going to inazuma the first time

Nah I think what he's saying is that the dice was too big for her hand even at the point of contact, so if you really look at it, it kinda looks like the dice just disappears for a bit. I kinda get where he's coming from though personally it doesn't really bother me at all.

From my understanding, he thinks that hoyo tried to do a perspective thing where she throws the dice closer to the camera and grabs it after (which doesn't look right if that's the case and why he disliked it). But in reality her animation is probably just that her dice changes sizes, simply as that.

Ayato's is not his idle, it's the animation that plays after his burst if you stand still and do nothing. While it is a pre-existing animation, it's one you never really get to see so I still like it a lot.
This tierlist is a fun idea, but it really comes across as an unnecessary over-critique of a nice feature.
Searching for things to complain about to justify the tiers just brings a negative vibe.
(Also imo the tierlist itself is just wack, the characters with fully new animations got underrated)

I still like Raiden's the most personally. I loved when she did that move in her teaser back then and she was my first limited 5 star ever back when she came out so I might be biased but I think it looks so cool.

If they wanted to keep the sheathing animation I personally thought that doing an entrance with his CA (like Nahida he gets closer to the screen from a little farther away) would have been cool.
But considering his personality I would have liked an entrance that had nothing to do with swords and maybe more about poetry, or the wind itself since he can understand it, or even his leaf idle but modified enough that it looks like he just arrived while playing it and lets it fly away to the wind in a more noticeable motion compared to the idle.

normally he's just down to earth and i respect him for that but lately he's become so negative about everything, i went to watch his live but i couldn't stand him complaining about everything in this new update, there are definitely things that could have been better but he couldn't have bothered to learn how swimming works, complaining about the controls you can reassign in a minute, it's one of the smoothest controls out there. I think he should take a break from genshin as he is clearly not enjoying it, he is on his way to becoming a second Tectone.

Then he started ranting about how he would end up accidentally pressing the button on land (on PC the dive button is also the button to switch from walk to run, you can literally reassign it to a button you don't use so you don't press it by accident), he also ignored the tutorials that appeared on the screen. He later complained about how disappointing this patch was when he didn't even try to properly engage with it.

I hope he takes a break and plays a few other games and then comes back some time later. I myself had to take a break from genshin for two months or more and came back with a refreshed mind.

The way Zajef aww'd at Yaoyao's (12:43) is so relatable. When I scrolled through my character list to mentally rank my lineup, I thought I'd be upset if Yaoyao and Hu Tao didn't get an S. Honestly expected Nahida to score one too, though. The pose seems more natural when you get zoomed out and see that she's floating, I guess.
Overall I'm kind of disappointed with the effort they put into the guys' poses, imo only Wanderer, Lyney, Albedo and Venti have gotten good ones (though I haven't seen what Itto does). Zhongli can be excused because it's in character for him to show off as little as possible, though.

I'd rank Noelle's way higher. Not S, but it's a strong A in my opinion. It's small, but captures her heartwarming politeness very well in a way her gameplay animations don't get to reflect. And it stands out as one of the very few animations "directed" at the player in some way. Other characters show up or show off their attacks somewhat threateningly (I mean, Mika looks like he notices us while reading and then faces us ready for a fight), but Noelle just greets us. It's just so hecking cute.
