A recording of my final moments in the game as well as an update on where I am and how I am doing.

I remember when my parents bought me the Songwing, and I remember buying the light fury and I cried when it shut down. I took one last flight with my favorite dragons, and I remember taking one last flight with my dear Aurora the light fury. Rest in peace Aurora and my other dragons. Gone, but never forgotten.
I cry every single day for school of dragons intill it shut down so now I just do voice acting

I was the Art Lead on School Of Dragons. Your videos were always a big help in finding bugs and other issues that needed to be fixed. It was a fun game to work on, I do wish we had the resources to fix some of the persistent gameplay bugs and keep updating the older outdated art. But the team really put a lot of effort into School Of Dragons, it's good to know that so many fans got so much enjoyment out of it.
what if you make a new httyd game like sod but better in every way like enhanced graffics, smoother gameplay, more customisaition, new challanges, new activities, increase the max Viking level and dragon level, more dragons to grind for, more islands, improved flying, more story and lore ect. This could be a massive hit if you can mannage to that but if you can't I completely understand hope everything goes well for you guys
@@DinoDude6711 That would be great. But Jumpstart Games is closed down now and the team is working at other studios. Maybe another studio will do a next gen HTTYD game after this new live action movie comes out next year?

@@VirtualTempleOfTheForbiddenEye who was the head of the writers Team because the story was good at first but around the things got really confusing and who was the animation team too because I was not the big fan of when ur dragon is 100 % happy like say the Deadly Nadder would dance yeah that was not it.
Wow! You did a great job! I really enjoyed SOD's graphics and models. It was everything a dragon game needed. Can't you get a contract with Dreamworks and make a new game using SOD as the base and improve?

I... didnt know my whole childhood was shut down last year, I remember playing it since it came out. I didn't know, and now all my childhood is lost forever, not even any screenshots to remember all my dragons by. I am truly at a loss for words
If you want to replay it, there is a discord server where people basically run this game on their own servers. They even added one dragon that Jumpstart studio couldnt finish

Dude. I had a whole bond going on with my 54 dragons 😭🙏 and the moment I saw the shutdown notice, I froze. This game was so special to me man, no matter how few people would play I loved it till the end.

Yeah, me too. When I saw the notice, I couldn't stop crying for the rest of the day. I love my dragons probably too much for it to be healthy since they're not truly alive creatures... And I still have the app on my devices.
I found out very late, on like the 26th of June and spent pretty much the rest of the time left playing SoD and recording it.
I still have a folder of SoD videos that I took, and it takes up 110 gigabytes of space

I found a Discord server that's a HTTYD RP, but some of the mods are also working on a SoD remake game, I think on Roblox
I haven't deleted the game yet, I'm still in denial. I hadn't realized it's been a year, I still think about and miss this game so much. It was and still is so so important to me.
i also didnt delete the game< sometimes ill open the game just to sit and stare at the endless loading screen, i miss the music when you would load into the game it was always so nostalgic for me

I really miss everything about the game. the dragons and fly with them everything.
I remember with my first savefile, when my baby Deadly Nadder flew for the first time, it was during the eel minigame, I got so excited that I started to cry from happiness
I do too. I was so sad when it shut down. The game was important to me. I absolutely loved it, and wish it was still running. It was so nice just to… fly around. I loved my dragons too, I loved them so much. I miss the game.
People have remade the game. It still has pretty much everything from before, and you can download and play it pretty easily.
I will say, I still miss my Skrill, Spartan, he was my main dragon who I did quests with, he was my racing dragon and my tactics teammate, he was the dragon I made memories with and truly formed a bond with.
And on the last day I took off his saddle and said goodbye to him. I actually cried.
Our dragons will never be forgotten, they'll remain in loving memory and in our hearts. Rip SoD

I miss my Woolly Howl, Snowsummoner. I played the game as a child, and I was unable to recover my password for my old account when I started playing again in high school, Snowsummoner was main dragon on that new account. I have no memory of how I ended up with his egg, but I had him. Two days before the game was shut down(I was unavailable on the day of), I took all my dragons out one by one, and took screenshots, so I may always remember them. I just wished I could have said goodbye to the dragons of my old account.

I miss my favorite, Ruffrunner, he was the one I did racing and everything with. "No longer by our side, but forever in our hearts"
Back then, me and my friend were OBSESSED with the light fury. I never got the membership of something to get the light fury. (I only had the sand wraith and the two headed dragon I forgot the name of) So when we would find someone with a light fury, we would just yell “I SEE A LIGHT FURY!!!” And just chase the poor person around the map. Then, we both stopped playing the game because we weren’t interested anymore.
Then, I found out it was shutting down, and I found my old account, and logged into it. It was really nostalgic to play the game for the first time in years. I finally was able to ride the dragons I wanted to get since they were all on discount. (I finally rode a light fury!). And the. I remember waiting out the last minutes of the game with other players. It was a sad day.

A year already? School of Dragons was my childhood, I played since it first came out, saw every update, every new dragon. I remember saw happy I was when I got my screamin death and my snafflefang. I cried having to lose it all. Silver, you played a huge part in my childhood, and honestly helped me more than one can ever know. Thank you for sharing those final moments. Take care of yoruself.
I remember playing school of dragons for HOURS and never getting bored. When I heard it was shutting down, I just kind of fell apart. A lot had already happened so to see my childhood game just shut down was really heartbreaking…

I remember my parents bought me Dart, and I remember being online, playing the last few moments of this game. People were doing a countdown, but when they all said Zero, they were confused because the server hadn’t shut down, I asked my parents when the England servers would shut down, and my dad said 9 o clock’, I was there, heartbroken when it shut down… Rest in Peace School of Dragons, you will always remain in our hearts ❤
I was also up early in the morning and spent the last hour with my dragons... Until the last minutes before the server kicked me out. It's unbelievable that it's been a year... But I'll never forget my dragons and I'll never forget that date or the date I joined the game ❤️

The night that the game shut down also happened to be when my dad caught a raccoon in a cage, so right after I was logged out of SoD for the last time, I got in the car and drove to a park to release the raccoon.
I have to admit, i did start watching your videos because of School of dragons, and i watched the whole playthrough that you did, i really enjoyed watching it ❤❤❤❤❤, but then later on i did not watch your videos just for School of dragons, but for all of your videos, i really do enjoy all of your videos, they are so, so SPECIAL, and thak you for putting so much effort into your channel!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤

Man…i remember playing this game a lot when I was younger. I was obsessed with how to train your dragon when I was younger (13/14) i still can’t believe this game got shut down, it’s sad that games like this are no longer around. Online role playing games like SOD, Jump start, club penguin, monkey quest, animal jam, feral, are no longer around nowadays…and i don’t know why. These types of games were EVERYWHERE when I was a kid, but now…they’re mostly gone.
I wish more games like this were around now, we need more games like this. Anyway, I hope you find what you’re looking for. I just found this in my recommendations, and I’m sad that this game is no longer around. Till next time…Let’s go, where no one else goes.

I remember when I first played school of dragons and it was so much fun I was sad when it shut down. I took one more flight with my dragons before it shut down with my sword stealer blade and my other dragons. May my dragons fly in the hidden world free they’ll always be in my heart

i still havent deleted the game on my computer yet, i cant bring myself to. i was away that month and had no idea it would shut down. Coming back online and seeing that message saying it was shut down while i was away was heartbreaking
I remember when I was young, getting stuck on a quest for the Ice world expansion in School of Dragons once, and I went to one of your videos to figure out how to do it; I also remember binge watching your “Raising A Dragon” series, specifically the Scauldron and getting inspired to make my own. When the announcement came that the game was ending, my friend & I got on a call and talked about how we didn’t really play game anymore, but it still saddened us as we had so many memories with it; And most of mine we connected to your channel. Your channel also lead me to playing many of the games I do now, such as Century Age of Ashes and Riders of Icarus, (until my dads computer couldn’t handle it anymore lol) I’m so grateful for having to have learned about them from you. No matter if you keep doing TH-cam, or end up leaving, I hope you have a wonderful life and find a job you enjoy; Thank you Silver for all the memories with SoD and other games during my early childhood.
As someone who practically grew up on your channel and your content, I can only wish you the best, Silver, and don't worry too much about uploading anything until you took care of yourself first, because that's far more important that anything else.

SoD was a big part of my childhood and i loved to play it and also watch it here but time passed and i said the last goodbye to my Dart-dearest dragon,Light-my first dragon/flightmare,Storm-deadly nadder/second dragon and first alpha and many many other loved ones. School got more difficult so i didnt have much time to watch youtube and as i got older,i got interested in different kinds of content and started to listen to music(Joost Klein for life). In that year when i wasnt on this side of youtube i got into a completely new school,cut and colored my hair and much more stuff happened. Tonight i was scrolling through channels im subscribed to and i see this channel,i was like “lets go look at this once again like a year ago” and then i saw this video and wanted to see what ended a year ago. Now im just sitting here,reading all the other comments and almost crying(crying badly) about the footage of the end of SoD.Silver,i hope you feel of will feel better and please focus on yourself. The amount of tears & memories I got through watching this is incredible. This game was everything to me, even made it my wallpaper whenever there were events. I've been playing this game for so long. I had it when I was a little kid, then our tablet broke, and I couldn't find it for so long. Finally, after years I did, I found it and got a baby Deadly Nadder and named her Lydia after one I had in my first game. I had quite a few more. I miss them.
I'm sorry that you've been going through a hard time lately. But you will get out of it just got to keep moving. In terms of your channel though I will love to see some of your art and drawings. but it all comes down to what you want to do on your channel and what makes you happy it shouldn't matter what other people want. Just do what you feel motivated to do and what makes you happy.

This game was important for a lot of people and I wish I shared the same memories, I would always get so excited to play but unfortunately it just never worked good for me, it would crash every few minutes and so much of my stuff got deleted, I love that so many people had a wonderful experience, made lots of memories and new friends

i played that game for nearly four years, my first ever dragon, Lightwing, a flightmare was so beautiful. I first learned about this game from my first best friend. This game reminded me of her and brought nostalgia every time i played. I cried all night when i found out it was shutting down. So many memories, I can't just put into words. Dang the music while playing that footage hit me hard. It’s like witnessing the shutdown of Splatoon 1’s official servers all over again (even though this game’s shutdown happened last year). I remember playing the game but didn’t get far because my iPad couldn’t keep up with the graphics lol.

I remember seeing an advertisement of this game on TV when I was just a little kid and begging my mom to let me get it. This was most definitely a game of good memories and nostalgia for me. It's sad that it got shut down, but it was an absolute delight to partake in
As a kid ive always wanted to play a game with dragons, when I found out about school of dragons i kept playing it for years with my best friend. When I heard about it shutting down it just broke my heart. School of Dragons is always gonna be a part of my childhood.
its strange seeing a youtuber i whatched when i was a kid now that I am an adult. It is sad and nostalgic but also kind of nice to see a bunch of people in the comments who also have the same thing. If anybody here also played jumpstart as a kid.. they were part of the same company.. I hadn't played jumpstart in over a decade but when I heard that one of the games that built me as a person, taught me simple math tables and how to read, gosh.. and I still remember in the DVD for how to train your dragon 2 I got a special code for a skull crusher flight suit for school of dragon's, sadly lost the login info due to me having a terrible memory back then, but either way, that game was a really big part of my childhood as well.

I still remember the time we didn't have wifi connection so I went over to my friends and watched your videos I promised myself when I could I'd play this game and I did for years and now that it's gone I've realized how much I've grown up and so have you good to see you're doing well do what makes you happy wish you all the best :)
I have never even heard of his game until now and I am crying because I can see just how much it meant to others. To see games that matter to others, shut down, is just sad.
It's just heartbreaking to even myself knowing how much it mattered to everyone else.
This games bring so much joy at first to the point where we start to love it and it becomes a part of our lives. Then when the online games shut down it's like as if there is a big hole in the hearts of those who loved the games and stuff. Point is, I can understand how sad it must have been to others who played this game.
All I can say is, though I have never played it or even heard of the game, If it mattered to everyone who played or had some memory of it, then it matters to me.

Hi Silver. I started watching your channel when I was 11 years old, and i'm now 20. I've grown up watching your videos, i remember watching your isle videos on loop and laughing so much at what would happen, I remember watching your videos on Ark, on star stable, on riders of icarus, on primal carnage. You introduced me to so much wonderful media, notably the last guardian which has become my utmost favorite game. Your art has deeply inspired my own art, and it helped me as a kid find the motivation to work on my skills. What has especially captured my enjoyment over the years though are your vlogs, whereas i grew out of school of dragons, how to train your dragon and such, your vlogs have always entertained me, I remember cawki the crow and being enamored by his trust in you, i remember your toy reviews, your q&a. I remember your video where you went looking for bones, and it inspired me to get into vulture culture and bone collecting myself. A lot of what you've done has inspired me, you were the very first youtuber I watched, and as I grew up though i would watch less and less, I would always check in on the channel to see what was up. Wherever you head in life, I will always be here to see which direction this channel heads in. It's a decision up to you and what you feel will make you happy. I remember always going to battle events whenever I could, and completing as many tasks as possible before I had to go. When I saw that it was shutting down, I took a flight with my two dragons. RIP my SandWraith and DeadlyNadder.

i remember playing this when it came out i just bought the dvd set and got a paper with the link and played nothing but school of dragons and Minecraft for years then finally got an xbox and still played it this game is still one of my highest hour games on steam its enough to make a grown man cry. i also hope you have a better time with your job soon best of luck willow.

I only spent money twice in this game, to get a Death Gripper and Titan Flightmare, my two favourite dragons to this day and I will cherish Phantom and Gaslight until the day this game falls into mystery
I used to play School of dragons on my cell phone when I was a student seven years ago. So much good memories ! I was devastated when it shuts down.
Fortunately, with Sod off and a bit of thinkering, I was able to set it back again and rebuilt almost everything I’ve lost so far. It has taken time, but now I’m enjoying the game locally on my PC with a new family of nearly 60 dragons(including Toothless, the night fury and the night lights). And this time, I will take care of them forever.
For those who are interested with running the game in 2024.There is Sod off, they have a discord with everything needed and detailed instructions.
There is also project edge which is simpler but it is discontinued and far less practical for modding. You can still find instructions and the files needed on their discord.
I was one of the many who got into your channel for school of dragons, but over the years I ended up watching your other content specifically for you and your personality. I hope you can figure out something you want to do, I love hearing your voice! Maybe speedpaints where you talk over them?

Silver, you have been such a huge part of my teenage and young adult years. I remember watching your SoD videos every day after school and getting so excited when Icestorm Island released for coins so I could play alongside you. Once I got a gaming computer, I poured hours of love into Riders of Icarus until it became a PTW. Your videos have been a very special memory and I’m so proud to see how far you’ve come. I remember playing SoD when I was little and never fully figuring it out. I started playing it again a few years back and I miss all my dragons very dearly. Especially my first ever dragon I got,Blue the deadly nadder. I also miss my deathgripper,Charlie, that I saved up for,I miss both of them so much :(
I love this game so much me my cousin used to play all the time we loved it but now it's just gone it was are favourite game 😢
i think this is a blessing in disguise [or something like that]. like yes its sad to know skool of dragon is no more but that game was keeping you form tying other things [well we where keeping you to try other things] and i believe you can finally try something new and we wont stop you this time.

This game was the best for all us amazing HTTYD fans. School of Dragons was a loving and beautiful game and I was personally one of the very original players as I started playing School of Dragons just after a week it released ( remembering I was in holiday and didn’t have access to laptop and phone was not my video game device.) We will always remember this game in our hearts and then again… Good things always have an end. 😢❤
I miss the school of dragons, and i feel so bad for all the youtubers who did those videos, but I'm sure you'll find something if you decide to continue content. In the meantime, we'll miss you, and i hope you feel a lot better soon!❤

I am and forever will be in love with httyd. Finding the game gave me a taste of the world I would never get to experience. I used to play it after school, so excited to log on and just keep the farm going or do some battles. I got a membership for christmas, did the quests I wanted to do, spent hours flying around the hidden world map with Dart. But the game shut down about half way through my membership. When I found out, watching one of your videos, I cried.
I recently watched a video made on the game remake, the music, sound effects and visuals made me feel so nostalgic, even though it has only been a year. I know I probably would have lost interest eventually. But this game means so much to me that I don't mind. I am yet to try out the remake and probably never will, but SoD will live on in my heart and my memories.
Look after yourself Silver, you created amazing content for so long, you deserve the break. Your mental health is more important than any youtube video out there. Thank you so much.
