Not fair since 2014. Backloading all the jumps? With too much prerotation? That should be minus goe. Then we have new score for alina. What quad? With an almost 360 prerotation, its a triple. Eteri girls are great skaters, but the scores inflated too high. And remember, girls, not ladies.

Russia had all the new talents coming up that will dominate figure skating after 2014. I just don't understand why they *had* to fix the game for Sochi 2014. Sotnikova's win was very unprecedented. She never won a single gold medal before and after the Olympics because the judges weren't bribed. Not even when she had a clean skate. (her free program at Sochi wasn't clean btw) She wasn't in anyone's conversation about who will win the gold medal --- until Russia's no.1 gold candidate Yulia Lipnitskaya messed up. Sotnikova was just Russia's plan B. Yes, she had a more difficult program in the free skate. But clearly not in the short program. The scores for the short program should have been far lower than Yuna's, to begin with. She didn't get called out for the wrong edge on the Lutz, and got massively inflated GOE!! I don't get it!! Zagitova was amazing though. Along with all the Russian skaters that will be competing for Beijing. But I have zero respect for Sotnikova.
Couldn't sum it up any better. Especially with Sotnikova's so-called gold medal skate where she completely botched a landing. I don't recall any other time when the gold medallist won with an unclean program. Anyway, it's buried in the past and most people understand it was Yuna's stolen gold.

It's so disappointing cause Adalina's short program really is not that bad minus the lack of edge on the step sequence. It's the long program where the real talent shows, and there is not doubt Yuna should have won. No doubt at all. And if every Russian did in fact dope I. Sochi, which I do believe, I hope she is one day stripped of me medal.
I used to find Yuna's skating bland and didn't understand why she dominated especially against Mao who had a triple axel, but after educating myself regarding jumping techniques she was textbook. The speed she had, minimal pre-rotation, correct edges and flow coming out of her jumps...now I know why she could beat someone who had 2 triple axels in a program. Zagitova was the most fun to watch imo and I was really hoping she could have learned some quads to compete with the younger Russian girls or even a triple axel. The other Russian champion was sloppy but she did have some entertaining spins.
Yuna is the perfect blend of jump and artistry.. Zagitova almost come close to her but not up to Yuna's artistry and personality on ice ..Zagitova has great transitions and speed and flexibility but her jumps are not as strong as Yuna.
Yeah I feel like as viewers, we sometimes forget that jumps aren't the only thing when it comes to Figure Skating. It's a combination of athleticism (the jumps, steps, and spins) and artistry (the performance). Yuna Kim was a perfect blend of both. Her artistry and performance was just beautiful to watch, like you said, her routine flowed nicely from one technique to the next so you're not "taken out" of the performance aspect when she sets up for a jump. And while she didn't have a triple axel or quads, she excelled at the jumps she did have and they were clean so she was still able to rack up the points. And the fact that she was able to maintain all that throughout her career, I mean, is there any other figure skater out there who can say they never finished off the podium their entire junior and senior career?

Yuna absolutely feels the music. What a wonderful move, expression she make. She deserved better in Sochi.

Of course. You couldn't let the Ruskie lose on home turf.
They took yuna’s sp title literally
It was a pretty big scandal in 2014. Everyone knew Yuna should have won.
El programa corto lo debió haber ganado Carolina Kostner con mayor margen, Kostner está muy por encima de Kim y Sotnikova en cuanto a PCS.
Yeah and when it comes to Adelina they say :”Adelina did 7 triple jumps. Yuna did 6 triple jumps. Adelina had higher technical score but then they forget that Adelina got the same score as Yuna with a way lower technical content than Yuna in short program”. Even now the skaters can hardly get 74 with only 3T+3T as combo.

@@missblackcat4655 In all that I see only one gold. And is not that we ignored it, it's just that it was not significant in comparation of what others did before her, she was really not relevant or did anything special before Sochi. Yulia on the other hand...
@@aracelichely2954 oh I’m sorry, I didn’t know it was a requirement to be a world champion in order to win an Olympic gold medal 🙄 medals are awarded on who’s best that particular day or night, not on past achievements. Yuna was not the best at Sochi. Carolina kostner was much better as was Mao Asada. Too bad she totally screwed up her short.
Adelina with 2 foot landing got the gold
That was not her only mistake, she did NOT deserve that gold, and Russia knows it.
Not to mention her flutz and prerotations. And also waving to the judges during choreo sequence instead of doing choreographic movements. And some Russians still saying why Yuna had 6 triple jumps and criticizing her for not doing loop jump.
I always feels sorry on how sotnikova take the fall. She doesn't actually cheat, the judges and her coaches n her federation are the one should be hated. She was forced to take the gold, and hated for it, remembered not as the gold medalist, but as the robber. To be fair, I think all champions since 2014 are not valid, their score should be judged without bias, and we can get a true champion.
@@jesslynvania1420 could you kindly inform the world who the true champions are according to your expertise? If Not Scherbakova, then who? If not Zagitova, who would that be?
And if you consider yourself so unbiased, why not criticize Sara Hughes, who got gold from the 4th place after short program. Irina Slutskaya was robbed of her gold - they gave her 5.6 for artistic score in freer program and Italian judge even placed her 4th with clean skate. So that Sarah could be dragged from 4th after short to the 1st place. Irina won world championships a month later with 6.0, but she is not the Olympic champion.
If you are truly unprejudiced, do look up ALL cases of doubtful judgment.

Yuna Kim Two Time Olympic Champion💖💖 2010-2014
The olympics was happening at home (RUSSIA), they wanted their champion, they basicalybought the gold for Sotnikova, and also another fact played in these matter were that Russian hockey team also lost.😑
@@orcapuff So you have obviously not watched the Olympic Men's Figure Skating Champions...In 2014 Yuzuru Hanyu landed TWICE on his behind in the Free Skate and still won Gold and again in 2018 he totally botched a jump and again won Gold...!
either way im sure that Sotnikova herself had nothing to do w the score, i dont think she deserves to be disrespected because it was politics out of her control whatsoever
@@stayingaliveable she took advantage of that and she was fully aware of what is going to happen if she participates, she could have said somenting after her win about the scoring, she should have said the audience helped me, the fact that the olympic games happened in russia helped me to win a gold medal, instead she goes and hugs one of the competition judges and makes it so obvious that the politics where on her side and so on on

@@sashaxtina Alina and Yuna are the two women in the history of world skating who have a Grand Slam. Just these two women. So there is no need to belittle Alina. Alina's content is more complicated, Yuna skated longer in the absence of competition. They're both real queens.
@@OlyaGroom I absolutely agree with you, and I apologize if I came across as disrespectful to Alina. I really don't feel like I belittled her, rather I just succinctly stated how strongly I feel about Yuna. Alina is absolutely magical and a joy to watch. They are both clearly the best two in this compilation. I was simply relaying my own personal opinion that I believe Yuna to be the best female skater of all time (which is just a matter of personal taste) ... absolutely no disrespect to Alina or any other skater intended. Honestly, I would have been insanely thrilled if Alina had been able to compete in a second Olympics. If she had, she would have been my top pick for sure! I hope this clears things up. There was no shade intended whatsoever.
However, I will note that your comment reads as a bit belittling itself, considering your insinuations that Yuna won only due to lack of competition and that Alina's content is more complicated. Perhaps I am misconstruing this? If so, I apologize. They are both queens (and Olympic champions), as you said, so why compare them in this light? They each have a style and grace that is beautifully unique and captivating. Naturally, every FS fan is entitled to their own opinion. I was simply stating mine and made no qualitative reference to Alina's "inferiority" or anything like that. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about her, only praise. I just simply love Yuna. Queen Yuna Kim, 2 time Olympic champion 🥰❤️
Yes she had textbook technique in jumps and fabulous musicality and artistry!
@@coolgirl312 exactly, she's just phenomenal
I found her to be the most graceful without evening knowing techniques. Most non skaters watching her feel the same
