Most of DEH’s songs are even more beautiful out of context. But I was a bigger fan of the music little bit more so than the plot. I’ve had Suicide thoughts during my senior year but never attempted at all.
Requiem from Dear Evan Hansen will always strike the biggest chord with me. Every Zoe has done the part justice in this song and the movie cent made it Ben more chilling, raw, and emotional. Definitely my favourite of them all

I didn't realize they wrote a lot of these. Just hearing the words "you will be found" makes me weep even before hearing the music. It's a superb song. The Greatest Showman is my favorite soundtrack of all time. I've lost count how many times I've listened to it. And their work on Smash deserves to go to Broadway. They really are very talented.
You noticeably forgot to mention that Pasek and Paul weren't the only songwriters on a couple of these songs. The music for "Speechless" was written by original Aladdin composer Alan Menken, with Pasek and Paul doing the lyrics. (They also provided some new lyrics for "Arabian Nights.") All the songs in La La Land had music by the film's composer, Justin Hurwitz, with Pasek and Paul providing the lyrics. You even showed a picture of Hurwitz with Pasek and Paul and their Oscar trophies, but you forgot credit him.
I met them at a book signing for ‘dear Evan hansen’. I told Them that while they deserved the oscar for ‘La la land’, it was for the wrong song. Benj just nodded. 🤣

They're both uplifting ensemble anthems and they share keys at some point, but that's about it. The melodies are completely different.
