    It’s so annoying how there aren’t many or known young Soft Dramatics (ages 19-28).

      i agree, im 20 and rarely see women with my body type. Hard to find a more modern or casual style icon in my age range

      Is Jameela Jamil a soft dramatic? She's a little bit older than the age bracket you have though

      @@sabrinapitt1466 I was just wondering that, I think she more dramatic side , but she dress more soft dramatic style and she does look good in them

    Yay! This is totally me! Thank you for including tips on casual outfits. Us SDs can’t just go out in an evening gown everyday 😑

    • @thealignedlover

      Hopefully will focus more on casual options in the next SD video! 🙂

    When you're SD but live the sweatpants life, it's a real shock to people when you dress formally 😅

    I'm a SD 5'11 curvy etc etc I've spent my entire life trying to make myself seem smaller so when I figured out my body type I was like oh no I can't wear these clothes people will notice me more!! But now I'm older and more comfortable with myself and very excited to start dressing to honor my type 🙂 ty for the great recommendations

    can you do examples for soft dramatic with 2022 fashion

  • @deilen961
    @deilen961 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    thank you!! the comparison you used around -7:04/14:40 helped so much!! I've worn variations of the outfit on the right and it always felt a little off, what you said made so much sense and seeing the practical examples helped a tonne
    also made me realise i resist a lot of SD stuff because it's too much attention ahahah seeing her in outfits i've worn myself and remembering how much it affects the way people look at you is uhhh 😬 i love wearing those outfits, it's just too much for the lifestyle i have

    • @deilen961
      @deilen961 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      also! would love to hear your take on colder weather outfits
      i tend to give up in winter and just wear a massively oversized puffer coat, with the length being the only thing on my side, and thermals jeans and an oversized jumper cause anything else is too cold, but i miss playing with my outfits, i just find that a lot of weather appropriate winter clothing doesn't fit me - knits don't have the same stretch potential so the cute ones are usually too small for my frame and i look squished into them, hence the oversized solution

    hi nona:) love ur video ur voice is so soothing. im SD and curvy /hourglass but very soft more “romantic” looking Christina Hendricks type of SD. Monica Bellucci is also a good inspo for the ppl looking for some more youthful or current silhouettes, i use Monica’s 90s/2000s style as inspo all the time 💗i think that sensual Italian style is wonderful for us

    Hi Nona, thanks for another insightful video! I resonate a lot with this body type, but do you think it’s possible to be SD and 5’4? I like to think vertical line is more important than height… Either way, these are some lovely style recs to try. 😊

    • @thealignedlover
      @thealignedlover  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You’re welcome! And yes totally possible! It’s really all about using the IDs like probability clouds to point you in the right direction so you can figure out the most flattering items and combinations that honor your silhouette and persona (if that’s what you want out of clothing.) From the top of my head, I think Mae West was a verified SD icon at 5’1”

    • @oliviagates8664
      @oliviagates8664 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like your describing the IDs as probability clouds. It’s so easy to get caught up in wanting to put myself in a box rather than using the system as a way to free myself. 😅 Thanks for the reply. ❤

    Much of the Hour Glass was exaggerated by girldles in the 60s , the problem with using celebrities for Body Types is they have usually been manipulated on way or an other. But yes SL is a SD with an hourglass waist great vidi 😎☕💋

    • @thealignedlover
      @thealignedlover  ปีที่แล้ว

      The older icons were definitely exaggerated with clothing and lighting and strategic photography!

    Modern fashion is either too masculine or overtly girly it’s hard to find curvy women’s fashion.

    • @thealignedlover
      @thealignedlover  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Modern trends are definitely polarizing, hence why I definitely focus more on timeless patterns...there's still many designers catering to a more conventionally womanly figure- try ASTR the Label, Lulu's, Reformation, and Windsor.

  • @objetcache

    This video is kind of unhelpful since Sofia Loren isn't a modern example at all !

      I use the photos as inspiration. For example the outfit on the left with the white top. At 8:35 that can be recreated with a similar top, and modern flaire jeans. Sometimes just looking at the fabrics or dimensions or lines can help rather then recreating the whole outfit. I see those shirts all the time.
