- Hey party people! Thanks so much for hanging out with me while I share with you this new room makeover! Today I'm tackling Avalina's room and boy was it a DAY! It took forever to declutter everything and go through it all and then to decorate! This was a total budget-friendly room decor too because she had a lot of the things she wanted I didn't buy a lot, which was so nice! The vibe / aesthetic of this room is indie/skater girl / who the heck knows. Tell me what it's called because I still don't have a clue. Really makes me feel like a mom haha

Love that you let children have a say in what they want in their rooms we let our daughter do that when she was small and helps them to create and responsibility for their STUFF I know it drives us mama's CRAZY thanks for the makeover video God bless you and your family

We are moving and I have 4 kids. I’m excited to see how they want to decorate their rooms. They only thing I get a say in is the wall color. But other than that they get to design it

I love that you let her have her own style/aesthetic and even encourage it. I know some people wouldn't want their children to have any sort of expression. Thank you for encouraging your daughter to be herself.

I really appreciate that you are raising children that are secure in their own likes and dislikes. That Avalina was able to express her aesthetic with you, even though it was something you weren't familiar with, and weren't a big fan of.. and then TOGETHER you created a brilliant room that Avalina loves. That... that right there is the most amazing Five Star mummy award ever! You should be so so so proud of yourself for being the parents to such amazing kids. This is my 9 year old - he saves EVERYTHING! If we have a “good” box (like Bojangles - sturdy with a handle) he grabs it for storage. So much stuff it starts trickling into other spaces. He also has ALL THE SCISSORS!! Thanks for this, friend! Love that you respect your kiddos’ spaces and decisions about their preferences. ❤️

I spent months looking for my largest mixing bowl, finally helped my 9 year old clean out her closet and found it. She had been using it as the ocean for her mermaid Barbie dolls. 😂😂

You should really try to get items from a College! Like those students dump everything from their dorms! Sometimes it’s free or they’ll give it to you for cheap. They typically do it at the end when graduation happens! I’ve found so many great items!

I find myself saying that alot "you are definitely your father's child" when they have the same tendency haha. Being able to spend that one on one time with each child and their room is a fun time and bond. I'm doing this with my 9 year old daughter and she loves it.

I am the treasure kid! I have boxes and boxes of sentimental things from childhood and I’m a collector! My family pokes fun at me but I love everything and I donate things often if I can.
Hi kym if your going to move the other small cube holder out of her room add the tall one in their or flip the tall on it side and add to the other side with the stool and that could be here cubby and keeps everything out of sight too...looks good.
Oh the struggle is real!! I have a 17 year old & a 13 year old (both girls), and I gave up on the room situation years ago 😂. The parenting years when you don't have as much control is so bitter sweet, isn't it?! Avalina reminds me of my older daughter - artistic, independent, and definitely her own style!! I love it💖!! Btw, I spied a mini fridge (my girls are BEGGING)... what's your opinion? Anyway, you both did a fantastic job 👏👏👏👏

Do an Ikea closet system in that room when the Baby comes. That way you can maximize the square footage and sound proof the room with the hallway on the other side.

So cute! Avalina is definitely the IT girl! Little miss alternative new age hippie! Her style reminds of my own in middle/high school and beyond. Even now at 29 I still have tapestries in my home.
