its "the best time" to visit now since the libra is 5/1 to brazilian currency , so the travel would be way cheaper. And in Rio you need less than 3 days to do everything.
Please care about your life and keep away from this land of corruption and crime, where the bandits have more rights than the honest people!!! Tell your friends to avoid bolivarian countries!
I agree in that it is one of the best landing experiences. I was seating on the right side of the plane when I landed at SDU back in April 2014 and you can have a nice view of the bay, corcovado and the Christ the redeemer statue.
Correcting ... you can have a beautiful view of Guanabara bay, Sugar Loaf Mountain and Corcovado Mountain with the statue of Christ the Redeemer Or not? I am proud to have been born in this city. I am carioca! 😎
I've seen pretty exciting turns over water or cities.....my favorites are Manhattan and Chicago....I've seen a turn over chicago and it feels like we were about to fall over the Sears tower.....✈✈......that was dope
Rock mountains, Rain forested mountains, bay, lagoons, water falls, long beaches, a lot of beaches (more than 20 km). People can climbing, trekking, hang gliding, to do any sea sporting, everything without go out of the city. Just like in the Olympic time.
Ali Kassem Yes, Beirut! I flew to Bey in the 70's, way before runway 16/34 was built. I was a teen by then and have great memories of Beirut and Lebanon. MEA and TMA 707s ruled Beirut skies then. Good days.
When flying over Rio beach, I didn't see anyone on there. That looked like the main Rio beach because right before turning left to fly over it, you could see the beach curve and Sugar loaf mountain at the end of it
@@TheMquads, oh, that's right, I forgot that the main Rio beach is called Copacabana. I've never been to Rio de Janero, but would love to go someday, the Copacabana has always been a big vacation spot, I've heard and seen. I've seen plenty of photos, tv programs, etc. showing the long curved beach with Sugar loaf mountain at the end of it. I have also heard that some parts of Rio are also dangerous with alot of crime and muggings, since there are alot of shanty towns with some very poor desperate people in some parts of the city. I've heard that Caracas, Venezuela, Bogota, Colombia, and places like Guatamala are that way too, numerous parts of South America. And other places like Calcutta, India and Manila, Philippines are also that way. It's sad that there are so many poor people in the world desperate just to survive and fairly often turn to crime and mugging as a result. Most of those cities are hot, tropical places too. Rio de Janero is a tropical climate similar to, for example, Jamaica, isn't it? (Kingston, Jamaica is another city similar to the other cities I listed, hot, poor, and crime ridden). I'm quite sure that Rio is north of the Tropic of Capricorn line, so it's tropical. Buenos Aires though is south of that line, so it's more temperate, I believe. Correct me if I'm mistaken on any of the things I've said above.
You´re perfectly right. Although I didn´t feel unsafe in any place I have visited so far (including Rio). But I definitely would not stroll around any non-tourist area in Rio (or Manila) after sunset.
@@TheMquads, that's right, going to the non-tourist areas in those places after sunset would not be wise. But I'm sure most tourists don't go on vacation to these places to visit the shanty towns. Unless maybe they're reporters or something curious to see how the poor live there. As for safety, most of the tourist-filled vacation spots I'm sure are probably ok.
Rio is not the safest place in the world. That’s for sure! But it’s not that bad! Some USA cities are worse than Rio (ex. Detroit, Saint Louis, Baltmore, New Orleans). Some friends of mine got robbed in Amsterdan and New York. I got robbed in Paris in 2008. Besides that Rio is one of the most visited cities in the southern hemisphere (it was top 1 couple years ago but i am not sure now). Hope to see you in Rio in the future. We are very welcoming and warn people. And remember as the Tim Maia song says: “Do Leme ao Pontal não há nada igual” (From Leme to Pontal there is nothing alike)!
@@Carlosr2rp I actually met some nice people in Brazil when I was there, and I am sure that the majority are perfectly reasonable and decent people. I was there for two short visits, once in 2004 and once again in 2009. On both occasions I was robbed in the street, even though on the second visit I took the precaution of not going out at night. On that basis, I am sorry that I could not recommend it as a travel destination for my friends. It's just too dangerous.
Those runways seem short but I really didn't hear the brakes grab hard nor did the camera man lunge forward from extreme deceleration. Approach is hella awesome tho
I love Brazil and Brazilian.. Greetings from India.
Jagadeesh babu hey dude thx greetings from Brazil
What an approach and what a city! Just wow. Spectacular!!
Whoa those mountains on the approach looked real close. I kept hearing in my head "terrain terrain, pull up pull up"!
Sushi Mamba actually, the approach chart makes it so the aircraft gets just as close as possible without hearing any terrain warnings
Funnily enough, when you're watching the planes on the ground there, they look so far away.
my dream place to visit am long long way in England but I will make it there someday love you Brazil

Rio is just so beautiful

Me too..Rio is wonderful!!!
Gaming With Las g
Gaming With Las It’s not just so beautiful, it is also very dangerous. 😳
When I visited Rio in December 2016, I enjoyed a lot watching from the top of "pan de açucar" those planes landing in Santos Dumont! So exciting!

Chega triunfal ao Aeroporto Santos Dumont. Um arraso!
One of the best and harder approaches and lands to do.
Man you were sitting on the correct side of the plane. That is GORGEOUS
Yes,,I was pretty lucky. This approach is not so common as it used to be.
I've seen pretty exciting turns over water or cities.....my favorites are Manhattan and Chicago....I've seen a turn over chicago and it feels like we were about to fall over the Sears tower.....✈✈......that was dope
Airports can't all be boring to land at, this is an interesting approach & landing @ Santos Dumont!
Rio de Janeiro is like a mixture of New York, Honolulu, Los Angeles and San Francisco at the same time.
Yep and the rest.
Love the exciting approach to Rio !!
Rio. A cidade mais bela do planeta
Para quem vive numa bolha, talvez.

Absolutely amazing!!! :D What a wonderful view of Rio :)
Sobrevoando magistralmente o Centro da Cidade do Rio de Janeiro. Show!
Nice because you can see the mountain then the coasts. Especially beautiful during the Take Off at the Sunrise or the sunset

Cidade maravilhosa.....
I haven't been on lots of planes, but I've seen lots of airplane landings and this one is very good, maybe even the best approach in the world!
Thank you:)
No, THANK YOU!!!
On the other side you can see the Christ the redeemer
yes, and the sea right 5 meters away at the end of the runway, which he reached.
beautiful approach
i live right next to that airport and i can see some a320s and 737s flying REAL low everyday at gears down
The book is on the table.
Rio looks like a very picturesque city (judging by the videos on here and NBC's Olympic coverage). Wonder what the dance clubs are like?
Very lively I think:)
Wonderfull city !
Maravilloso video...maravillosa ciudad !
