@@tibovanhulle7301 it’s not an insult to fed, it’s basically a fan saying they’re sad that yet again fed lost after having match point like he’s done countless times and it hurts for a fed fan to watch this so many times
People forget how good Nikoloz can be. He plays attacking tennis which can be deadly when it is his day. People also dont know that players that play attacking tennis (Roger, Wawrinka, Basil, Rublev) have a much higher ceiling (potential) and can be terrible when they cant hit winners consistently. Apart from Fed who can make up for it with serve volley and slice shots, all the others have no alternative when they cant hit it cleanly all match long.
@Colonel Gibbs not talking about the way he played. More about his lack of energy, lucidity and endurance. I hope I’m wrong and he’ll recover playing more matches but that was my feeling
His best ever was arguably 2004 - 2007, maybe until 2009. I don't see how on earth the 2012, 2017 or 2019 version of himself could beat the young version. He was so quick on his feet and had video game-like shots. As for him getting back to at least the level he played at in AO 2020 or Wimbledon 2019 which was still world class, I believe so. His ground strokes look solid, maybe movement is hampered by the knee surgeries? He looks way closer to competitive level than Murray
Had the same feeling again watching him. It seems he can endure one set and give it all to win a second. It could be that he needs some time to get back to the rhythm? I certainly hope so.
You have to realize it's not easy coming back after 13 months without any matches. Of course he's not gonna play perfect right away, he's still human(even tho he seems like a robot sometimes)

*s h u s h* he lost
damn, what was that! Basil played lights out!! I don't remember seeing him play that well for a fair while.
No matter Fed was out for 1 year or 2 years. Basilashvili wrote history. The strongest won. Finish!
he's sucha goat , he's old AF and hadn't played for ages -- yet he comes into this 1 point away from defeating the eventual comp winner .. woo!
To my Hero Federer,
Well, what I feel always in all your matches is 'pure elegance'...people will speak about your age, your abilities to cope up with it and all, but what I think is - you've already proved that Age is nothing but just a number. This was your comeback tournament, after knee surgery, but what you did, what you showed in your strokes your aces today, is definitely awesome! It will definitely turn out to be better in the upcoming ones!Congratulations! My Hero, take care..you're what we call the peRFect!❣and your smile!!You're a great source of inspiration to me Hero!❣
Congratulations to Nikoloz too!You're remarkable
Have a nice time!💐Take care and stay safe!
Chill and relax. Take a deep breath

Well there you go Niko had a good day at the office.........good to see Roger again........love that tennis!!
Losing after having match point?
Federer is well and truly back 😭
Could you have played the matchpoint better?
@@tibovanhulle7301 it’s not an insult to fed, it’s basically a fan saying they’re sad that yet again fed lost after having match point like he’s done countless times and it hurts for a fed fan to watch this so many times
@@tibovanhulle7301 Nice pfp hmm wonder where you got this from
23 Matches now that Federer loses after having 1 or more Match Points. Unbelievable
chokerer as always
Quel beau retour et quel plaisir de vous revoir Roger mais votre adversaire, que j'apprécie, a été le plus fort. 👍👍👍👏👏👏
2 days ago : atp - Welcome back Federer
Today Mirka at home - Welcome back Federer
@@martydav9475 it's just fun. We all know that Fed is great player
Great to see people in comments respect Basilashvili, crowd almost never respects Federer opponents in important matches.
Basilashvili not only made an extraordinary comeback but help me beat this old guy, full credit and good job, you deserve it my man👍💪😭😭
I hate to say that, but after his match yesterday and today, I’ve had the feeling that we won’t see Roger at his best ever again.
Too many good players out there. Roger paved the way now it's time to let the others drive down that road of success.
You have to realize it's not easy coming back after 13 months without any matches. Of course he's not gonna play perfect right away, he's still human(even tho he seems like a robot sometimes)
Nikoloz played great, very good match to watch
no ones said anything ab badilashivilli, everyone’s just saying fed lost
I mean he choked a match point again
Im here, who says basilashvili is winner)) and I’m proud of it 🇬🇪❤️
Roger plays well when he faces Baghdatis, Roddick Gonzalez, Hewitt, Safin, Philipoussis
@@jeycalc6877 here u are my 40 15 friend
Big respects to Roger and loves to Basila
He came to get his 1.5 million dollars for showing up and thank you very much . See you next year
Basilashvilli played great today! Such solid, powerful ground strokes. So cool to be able to watch federer again, think he has potential to get back to a really good level, just needs more match play!
He loses again from match point!! 😢yes he hasn't played for a year and yes he played quite well and yes opponent is a very good player himself but it's not fair he loses at match point 😫
🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪👏👏👏 Federer you are a legend👏👏👏
From matchpoint, a Federer classic in his return 😕
His return was a bit tentative, but not terrible by any means.
Basilashvili ❤️
I watched Basilashvili's atp interview. He used to sleep in the car during tournaments.
Wow
that is why I am always rooting for the unknown, not famous players, they need to earn some money too.
Big deal...
Federer is still a legend..........!
Even if Federer wasn’t rusty, I still think Basilashvili could’ve beat him. He has so much power in his backhand and has such good mechanics.
Power not the only thing. It's technique. Roger is top form is unbeatable
Yeah basilashvili is the hardest hitter on tour
What a match! Both of the players performed incredibly and the stronger the winner!
This was a start for Roger ,
Hope to see him again ,,,,
What a clean shots from Federer. Just enjoy😍
Roger seemed gassed in the 2nd and 3rd. It'd be extremely hard for him to win at a non slam event these days now cuz these back to back matched will wear him down
Its normal he isn't match fit after no competition. Being 40 has to be some of it. Just hope it's not this much of it
Nice game from federer. Congratulations to basilashvilli. Federer really played crispy and don't want to play long rallies ,keeping in mind age factor. He wants to finish point as early as possible. Good game plan though. Just a bad luck and unforced errors.
