Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. What a journey and it was a privilege for us to come along. Thank you Ben for all the hours of filming and editing, the highs and lows, the challenges and moments of joy along the way were wonderful to share. And this was August 😮 I can’t recall a month like it and it’s credit to your mental strength to have got through the Lake District in what I consider appalling conditions. Congratulations 🎉 That was a bit emotional watching the slipway appear. Fantastic for PCUK too. nice one Ben 👍
Congratulations on an epic walk. The moors were my favourite section as I love their bleakness. I was going to camp at the Lion but they had one free so took advantage of that. The hill out of Grosmont is another thing other TH-camrs fail to mention as it’s a killer. Intake Farm was a great little place to stay as well.
Just realised that despite enjoying all these vids last month, I never left a comment Ben! Thank you for filming this so honestly - highs and lows - and congrats on the achievement from both a personal and fundraising point of view. I hope you treat yourself to some nice lazy relaxed camps for a bit now - you deserve it! But also looking forward to the next challenge... cheers mate. Rich 👍
Absolutely outstanding achievement, and series Ben🙌. You dealt with everything you had thrown at you with such strength of mind and purpose, a man on a mission! This is one of the best through trail series we have watched, we felt right there with you the whole way, quite literally through all the ups and downs, and even felt emotional watching you walk your last mile and complete your epic journey🥹. You did your dad proud. Thank you for sharing this journey with us, Shell and Pete 🤗🙌
I always really appreciate your lovely comments Shell and Pete. Thanks so much for watching all of it. It’s a bit of a long view!! It’s been great hearing how you and others have connected to the adventure and felt part of it. My simple plan as always is to just tell the story - worts and all. Keep it real. Would love to meet you both one day! Speak soon. Ben 🫡
@@benhikescampswe meant every word, it was a compelling watch Ben, start to finish🙌. It would be lovely to meet you one day too. If you ever do decide to give the lake district another go, let us know 🤗👊 Have a great weekend, Shell and Pete
Awesome mate ! What a journey. A glass raised to you Ben, your dad and your friend that you lost Thank you so much for sharing this with us. All the best mate! Mark 👍
Well done Ben, congratulations and all for an important cause. I enjoyed watching this series and it captured the challenge well. All the best to you. 🙂
Hi Ben,many congratulations on completing the C to C,you had everything thrown at you,bad weather & injury but you stuck at it,thanks for taking us along, atb Colin P.👍
Well done Ben. What a great adventure. I am sure I walked part of the Yorkshire Wolds Way with David. He was a great chap. If I remember correctly he was going to walk the Portuguese Camino. Thanks for sharing Ben. Phill
Really well done Ben. Have enjoyed immensely your series of videos. Enjoy the rest now you’re done and get that leg sorted ready for your next thru hike 😉 🎉 Angie & Rob
Congratulations, what an amazing achievement, I am so proud of you Ben , 192 miles of endurance, pain , happiness and kindness, you are an inspiration to others, great video buddy.
Congratulations Ben. You should be super proud of completing the journey and raising funds for a worthy cause close to your heart. Well done and see you on the next one 🙌
Congrats on finishing the walk. On a good day you can see the sea from when you first crest onto the open moors (about 4:30 in your video) - but then you realise there's still 3 or 4 days walking to final goal and the excitement quickly fades. Thanks for the vids. Next year I may do an E2W crossing (and then walk the 4 miles from St Bees to home at the end) - mind you, it'll be B&B to B&B - none of this camping lark.
Well done, fantastic effort. I’ve enjoyed watching all the episodes of this series and your challenges through physical, mental and emotional ups and downs. Hugely inspirational 👍💪👏
Great series of the walk. Avery well done on both the walk and the raising od the funds. I camped at the lion with my dad and brother when I was about 12, back in 1982, we were doing the like wake walk and Cleveland way combined, I will never forget we got to the lion about 1 am the field was full of rabbit droppings. All the best to you Ben
Well done for getting through some awful weather and injuries. I did the C2C early May 2008 with a group of three female friends, we were celebrating one of the groups 50th birthday, and all of a similar age. Lovely to bring back all the memories. We were luckier than you with the weather, only an hours rain going through Ennerdale Forest and even had to buy shorts in Richmond due to the heat 🥵 Also had the luxury of B&B's and hostels every night which makes a huge difference!
Well done. A fantastic achievement for a fantastic cause. Enjoyed following your journey and the highs and lows. I walked the Pennine Way a couple of years ago and totally relate to that final day emotion after so many days of walking. The realisation of what you’ve just achieved and that it’s about to end is very overwhelming. I recorded my journey too and it’s great to watch them back later down the line and relive the memories. You should be very proud of what you’ve just achieved 👍
A bloody well done mate, some of that looked hard, especially with illnesses and injury And a really good cause, too. im currently recovering from a very rare cancer myself. All my hiking has taken a back seat lately due to it but watching this journey of yours has kept me wanting to get back out when I can
Well done Ben, that's a massive challenge you have conquered there. Really enjoyed following your journey through the ups and downs of this trip. Definitely something we all should aspire to have a go at once in their lifetime if we can!
Huge respect Ben. Only other walkers really know what that last mile means. Your videos and you have brought me joy, massive thanks for that, walk on!!!!!
Congratulations Ben, I’ve ’liked’ them all and binge watched them over two days, I did the trek in 2016, living only 4 miles from St Bees id like to to it again East to West so I’ll always be heading home.
Well done mate, fantastic achievement! I was so disappointed with Lordstones, £25 for a pitch, restaurant shut at 4pm and didn't open until 9am the following morning - no option for dinner and no breakfast!
Congratulations what an amazing achievement and for such a great course. Ben I think you're a great inspiration for me and others to follow and I look forward to hopefully seeing many more of your adventures. I'm planning on doing the South Downs way next especially after watching your videos and will be raising money for Alzheimer's as my dad is suffering from it. Would like to pick your brains on doing it at some point Ben . Keep up the amazing work and really enjoy watching your adventures.🎊❤️🎉
Thanks for sharing your adventures Ben. I really enjoyed watching the highs and lows of your trek and it kept me entertained while completing the C2C myself recently. I've just donated to your fund as a little thank you - good luck on getting to £4K...
What an achievement, Ben! I always admired you, walking with a heavy backpack and sleeping outside. Plus the weather, the pain and the work of filming. And despite your struggle, which can be seen in your face, you convey a good mood. Your contribution is a gift to me! I salute you! Congratulations! ❤
This is on my radar for 2025 so interesting for me to see your experience. Many hikers! I completed Glyndwr’s Way (Wales) just a couple of weeks ago. It is a national trail but is the least walked. 135 miles in 9 days and I saw only 2 other hikers!
Massive congrats Ben. Watched the last part with some a sense of willing you over to RHB. Celebratory GoOutdoors ready meal😂. Well done. Great effort 👏👏👏. I remember the sense of achievement reaching the coastal section and pride walking down to the RHB causeway to throw the stone into the water. What’s next? 🥾🥾😂
It was wonderful following your journey. I did the C2C when I was 17 (I’m 50 now). My mate and I slept in the hermitage for a night. It was bloody cold, especially without sleeping bags!
Congratulations, Ben, on your amazing journey. The word 'epic' doesn't do it justice. You did your Dad and Amanda proud.
@@scotbotvideos thank you so so much. Very touched by that. 🙏
