As someone who lives in Malaysia i am proud to say I've visited this area many times, it was super fun, i always loved going there. I rode on robocoaster, it was really fun, i recommend trying that ride next time, you should also ride on the boat ride i forgot where its at but i know that it includes water, it requires a raincoat too, could really get you wet but its super fun!
FYI, if you need public transport to go Genting Highlands, there is buses in KL Sentral and also Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS). Those buses will take you to Awana Skyway and you could ride the cable car up to Genting SkyAvenue.
There's also a bus in gombak LRT station

It's GERN-ting (as in games, gate, get...not jet, Gerry) not GENT-thimg Highlands. Genting means roof or peak shelter in Malay language :) GEN-thimg or Yuen Ting means sky roof of the mountain etc :)
.you can take bus from KL Sentral...the bus will take you the cable car station at Awana...from there take the cable car to the top...

The drone shot is amazing and high quality. Also love the editing skill. There are a few more cool/cold place such as cameron highland and fraser hill. Definitely recomended if you are going further north towards ipoh/penang. But it is raining a lot lately so please be careful on the mountain roads. Hope you have a great time here guys. Xiexie. There are always private cars, bus and taxis to go up to Genting Highlands. It's a very popular place so it's very easy to get a transport to go up. Another reason (probably main) why KL ppl likes to go there is also because of the weather. It is chilly all year round. I remembered my younger days just driving up with some friends and just sit at Coffee Bean or any outdoor place just to hang out in a colder temperature! Plus, it's a place with loads of horror stories too! Just ask any Malaysians if they have a ghost story to tell. 😄

In Chinese Genting can also mean "Above the Clouds". I was there 20 years ago and took the tram to the casino. The entire mountain has been developed nicely.
Not sure if you know, genting is a very big company based in Malaysia that has casinos, theme parks and properties in Malaysia, Singapore and also Las Vegas
In Thailand, most of mountain tops are kept as reservation so there are no development like this, only small villages. You can see similar development in Vietnam like theme parks and big cities as well.
haha fun rides,btw other then just driving cat there are bus u can ride that goes to genting like 1 utama, kl central theres lot more and it only goes to awana skyway aka where the premium outlet is located. If u wanna try out the awana cablecar take note there is some dates is not open, and u would need to take the old cable car which is genting skyway
15 years ago i went to Genting Highlands from KL Sentral by bus, we bought return tickets, unlimited outdoor theme park entry and cable car, all together (bus, theme park, cable car) about USD 13 only
Definitely add this to my list of places to visit. Kids will love it.

I'm local, the last time i went to Genting Highland was more than 10 years ago..
During that time, there's no outdoor Theme Park yet.. even the indoor also not happening like today!!!

There was a outdoor theme park for more than 30 years ago, what are u even saying. It has always been there until recently 20th Century Fox took over and rebranded the theme park.
The outdoor theme park was always there until 20the Fox joint venture with Genting to develop a larger theme under the 20th Fox brand but half way the development, they have disagreement and stopped work for several years, that's probably when you are there. Later Genting owned the whole project and become as it is today.
The reason why there's so less people, apart from it being a weekday, is because currently it's towards the end of the monsoon season, which means it rained a lot and recently there were landslides around the area killing a group of children who were camping there. It was big in the local news, that's why many people refrained from going to the area until it is less humid.

Can you please give tips to get to genting. We are now the first time in KL, but didn't get very good help with normal trains. We stay at Hilton garden hotel
The easiest way is to go to KL Sentral station. Downstairs is a bus station (ask somebody if you have difficulty finding it) where you can buy bustickets at a stand at the platform, in combination with a ticket from Awana station where the bus drops you off, for a gondola-ride up to Genting.
FINALLY! YOU GO GENTING!!!!
And it was worth it!! We had a lot of fun there 😂

Hi. Genting Highlands is 1.8km high from sea level. The mist you experienced was actually cloud. If its from the ground, its just fog. Coming from above, then you're in cloud 9.

‘Cool’ video guys. Genting Highlands is the quick cool getaway for many locals. Its where we go for dating, fun with friends, family time and even shopping or golf (some even go for road racing 😮). Have a lot of good memories there. Fun fact - I cant go into the casino as Muslim Malaysians are not allowed to enter the casino.
You are lucky, avoid their casino, that's where the money came from. The 2 best Islamic conditions are not allowing alcohol and gambling, 3rdly, fasting.

Actually I am also glad you went to Genting. Whilst GH is bright and colourful, it is a wonderful contrast that you see of Malaysia; we have the full spectrum from the solitude nature to the other end like Genting, and everything else in between. What Malaysia doesn't have is 4 seasons. If we have that, I thin it would be even more fun.

One can get to Genting by dedicated bus which is the cheapest, taxi, grab and even by helis if u are among the elite.

Take bus from KL sentral until the top of genting highland or take bus from KL Sentral to half way at genting, after that take cable car to top of genting

The cable car was closed for maintenance that day ☹️ We missed out!

Average every half an hour if from KL Sental, other stations will be every one or 2 hours, but all stop at the Skyway Station to connect with the cable car.

Well you can go by bus... It's run by Genting Highland company... You have to go to KL Sentral to take the bus to go to Genting Highland... It cost about RM 10 each per person...
Is this really the price for bus? RM 10?? Local price or for international quest also? KL sentral is very confusing. Getting a bit lost
Yes it's rm10. But one way only and the bus only gets u to premium outlets and not the resort. U need to take the cable car to continue ur journey which costs another rm10. So it's roughly rm20 per person but if you are a family or group with 4 persons or more, it's more economical and convenient to just use grab or airasia ride and it costs aprox rm90-100 one way for the whole car

If you want to take luggage there then how do we do it? You need to take a car right. Also can we get a cab while returning or maybe are there any storage facilities near the cable car to keep our baggage?
Yes u can take a reasonably sized luggage with u. The buses and cable cars allow that. And there are paid storage facilities too, plus complimentary storage if you are a hotel guest

There is a bus from KL to genting.
Many but all will stop at the Cable car station unless it's a tour bus.
People usually get up there by bus. The ticket is inclusive with the cable car service.

Sorry i don't think there is any bus going to the Japanese Village. Usually by private arrangement.
