This is fast becoming a favorite of mine. I dare say that you can find many power options, that will blow you away with these . A speaker that takes the best from your source, not a source that gives the best to the speaker. Mr. Wilson left some great audio gifts. I'll keep a set of these on my Christmas list !
Wilsons sound great, heard them live in store playing an old LP on a high-end turntable, though I didn't know what they were at the time. They are very transparent, I first thought it was CD source material. You don't even notice the speakers, they literally disappear. Wish I had the budget for them.
nice speakers, but don't forget that the source material (aka software) is responsible for 95% of this overall sound. This exact track sounds stunning on my car stereo.
These speakers are supposed to be designed to work with smaller amplifiers even as low as 50W or so. All the demos I've seen though feature this pair of VTL 200W mono block monsters! Are they as hard to drive as all the other Wilsons or what?
Giannis Nikolinakos it sounds better with more power driving the speakers as in all cases, basically it's the extra headroom taking care of the peaks where a smaller amplifier may be struggling although you may not notice the difference at a lower volume. So I anticipate if you take those speakers home and don't have the same setup or as powerful amplifier, you may be a little disappointed. If those speakers are truly design for lower wattages, maybe it's hard to tell if you don't AB test it against a more powerful amplifier.
with this kind of electronics even emerald physics would perform equally well, for a fraction of the cost. the real test for this speaker would be a fast orchestral piece and I don't think it could come close to neither sasha nor sophia 3
Magic, just magic sound. VTL + Wilson Audio....i'm diggin this combo. Very very transparent when compared to the other videos you posted with the same track. Instruments stand out better. P.s. what's with all the plants at the hi-fi shows? I don't think those small pots influence sound :D Soon we'll have people petitioning on change.org to save the hi-fi plants from all the bass onslaught LOL
Willson speakers are always Strong and hard sound, live music performace ..... can't not hear in a long time.......... difference way sound of Avalon Acoustics , soft and clear sound !
Not true what you said about Wilson. Definitely not with the bigger models. Older, first gen W/P‘s had to be handled with a bit more care. And Wilson needs good components to play how they are meant to.
Ah, Wilson Audio, the king of audio price gouging. The prices they charge for these speakers is beyond all reason. It is elitist nonsense, and the profit margins should be criminal. I have no doubt they would claims their profit margins are low, which is complete BS.

VTL and Wilson is like PB&J

Holy Cow that sounds good.
Hi Peter. I absolutely love the Sabrinas . I wonder if they would work in my room. 12'x11'.. or is that to small.. love your comments. thanks..
+geoffrey welsby Hi Geoffrey, please ask this question on www.avshowroomsforums.com and I will be glad to give you an answer. Peter B.
Good but I think they are overly emphasizing the mids somewhere around the 1-2 kHz mark.
The Wilson with VTL, the top end is bright and too aggressive. dcs didn’t help
Could also be in the recording itself
Sonus Faber dream system!

Wilson’s actually aren’t hard to drive. They only need quality and current stable amps
Beautiful system!

my 3grand Ascend Acoustics RAAL towers sound just as good. I put a new roof on my house with the left over money.
Then you will love the fact that the newest DW creation, the WAMM Chronosonic is $685,000. Makes these Sabrinas look like a real bargain for $16K.
If you say so....
It all depends on your budget. I'm not in the market for either one, but I can appreciate how great they sound. That's all I'm saying.
I was referring to Eric rather ironically....
Sounds awful
