My New Best Choice Mini Portable Washing Machine

  • This is a showing of my mini portable washing machine by Best Choice, I purchased this on Amazon for around $94 if anyone's interested. This is my first video of me showing how to use something that I have gotten that isn't craft related, so bear with me because I stumbled a lot on my words explaining but hopefully you got the point. Also this message is for my concerned viewers. I did drain and rinse the cloths before I put them in the spin cycle. If you noticed in the video I stated that I am going to run them through again and be back. I didn't show that part to keep the video a little shorter. Also the plug in the back is an inch above the base of the machine and also has legs under the machine which is another inch. My shower drain also has a dip in the center so my plug never gets wet. Someone else has a video about this on TH-cam as well and you can see for yourself. I really appreciate the warnings and my husband has since covered the back with duck tape and plastic just incase.
The blue and white one is no longer on Amazon but I found one exactly like mine with almost 5 star rating in black and white. Link below

Actually they did, but the were much larger, heavier (metal) and I believe all models had a pump. Wash section and spin section. Spin was rough on socks. Modern technology. Light, smaller and this particular model utilizes gravity to drain. They also sell automatic small washer. They cost a bit more, but these are great for washing anywhere.

Got a tip for those who fill it with a bucket: if you don’t use a Liquid fabric softener in the final rinse, and you still have another load to do, don’t drain that final rinse water!
Just add soap and use the water as the next load’s wash water!

This works perfectly. The only problem I have with it is the fact that it is a bit smaller then I thought. Clothes come out CLEAN and are pretty much 80 to 95% dry. if you are thinking of getting one of these washer I believe you should just jump the gun and buy one. The pumps are a bit weird and frustrating at first; but once you get the hang of it, it becomes soo simply.

@@katydid1903 no because when you spin it automatically opens the drain so you can't fill the wash side. Spinning usually only takes 3 minutes so it's really not that much of a time waste. Mine has an inlet for the spin side so you could add water while it's spinning, but my usual method is wash spin wash as a rinse then spin again. This method works to get all the dirty water out of your clothes.

suzy Hall I use a teardrop of detergent. Since this type of washer has a very strong agitation it will help to wash the clothes more efficiently. It is best to use a low sudsing Detergent too. I have been using a homemade detergente, soap nuts/ berries and love Method detergent/softner. As you get the hang of the washer... there's some things that don't require a lot of water to rinse.

If it's plugged into a gfci protected outlet it doesn't matter. If thier is any kind of conductivity between the hot wire and ground it will trip, and in a bathroom you should be using a gfci protected outlet. "Ground Fault Circuit Interupter" or in the uk it would be an RCD I think. That is why the current electrical code at least here in michigan U.S.A. requires GFCI outlets in the bathroom and kitchen.

Based on your review, I decided to buy this! I've been doing my laundry by hand for 7 years. It's not a big deal--the washing part, that is--but wringing out wet clothes--that part is tiring. At first, I was looking at those spinners, but for about the same price, might as well buy a complete portable washer/dryer. I'm doing my first load right now!

    • @babycakes8434

I am here for the same reason. The biggest problem is the wringing the clothes by hand. Then they dry too long and if they are heavy like sweaters or towels or sheet they start to smell bad from long drying ugh.

Lol! Unless your kid's are rolling around in black dirt all day, you're probably seeing a lot of the dye from their colored clothing. However, this washer has a very powerful agitator and spinner! It definitely removes the dirt and as you said, almost dries your clothing in the spinner. I purchased mine last year and I notice that if I evenly layer my clothing in the spinner, it will not rattle or bump around when it starts up. I love this washer and actually prefer it to the full size washer I had before.

I couldn't find it anywhere online and a few weeks later, someone was selling one close to my place, and had barely used it. My apartment building has ONE dryer and washer for 21 apartments. While the washer works fine, the dryer can't manage to dry half a batch of clothes even after they spent 1.5 hour in there. They're still damp and small (did I mention we have to pay 1.50$ for every use? 4.50$ for one load is getting pretty expensive). This machine has been a LIFE SAVER. Yes it's more time consuming but my clothes are pretty much dry after using the dry spin, and completely dry on a rack inside in a few hours. PERFECT if you don't have much space, honestly.

One word of advice...store the machine with the lids open to cut down on bacteria and mold forming in your machine, until it dries out. Then, once it dries out, you can close the lids until next time. If you store it away with the lids closed, you’ll get a foul, nasty smell next time you go to use your machine.

I have one of these units and they really are pretty great. I was very impressed with how well it cleans. I had just returned from the laundromat when they delivered mine. I had no dirty clothes, so I thought, having just done mine. I threw in a load of clothes I had just washed, and to my surprise the water was almost brown/black when it was done. These washer/spinners are incredible. I have washer hookups in my apartment so I hooked it up with a regular washer fill hose and a 1/2 inch reducer to fit over the water inlet on the machine.

      How do you drain it?

    • @ericsmith8825
      @ericsmith8825 4 ปีที่แล้ว

@@caylor1123 I have mine set on a 10 inch high stand that I built. This raises it enough to get it to drain into the drain for the washer. I simply cut the washer drain pipe at 4 inches up from the floor and inserted the drain hose from this unit. I clamped the drain hose from the unit to the drain pipe with a ring clamp to ensure that it did not come out.

I just got one of these, brand new never used from an estate sale! I just did my 1st load of clothes and I'm super impressed by the power of the washer motor!! This little machine actually washes very well! The spinner works well too. All around happy I bought it.
My wrists are destroyed so washing and wringing by hand has become too painful to do anymore.
The only thing I noticed about this washer is that if I put the timer more than 6 minutes, the motor seems to get pretty warm. I will wash 6 minutes, give it a 5-10 minute break, then do another 6 minutes.
Dimensions are 26 inches high X 23 inches wide X 12 inches deep.

Do not put stocking on the hose. Use a "mushroom" stopper in the drain. It will catch everything.

Thank you for a great review. I have watched so many different reviews on so many different units and I have found yours to be the one I like best. Come the first of the month when I get paid I am going to purchase it. I also like the idea of filling the water with a bucket instead of the hose. A lot less hassle. Again, thanks for helping me make my decision.

I forgot to tell you. I have watched lots of these videos. They say to always store with the lids open to dry out moisture. That way there won't be mold or odor. I don't know if that is something you already do so I thought I would let you know. I can't wait to get one of my own.

Thanks the video was very informative. My bf just gave me one for my apt because he wasn't using it. And it was just collecting dirt and dust. So I'm definitely happy I stumbled upon this video I was actually really nervous about using it since he didn't have any other information for me except fill it with a bucket of water and that's it. I learned a lot of quick tips on use in my own time but this makes me feel better.
