can you was everything like pillows jeans hoodies ect? Can you run both sides at once? my house kills appliances we literally replace washer and dryer every 1-2 years (gently used ones) so looking for a back up.

I am in a wheelchair and have problems going into the garage to do laundry, so my daughter brought one of these over. It gets the laundry clean and the house smells nice afterwards. It's a godsend for the disabled person in your life. Imagine trying to take clothes to the laundromat in big baskets when you're in a wheelchair. This is wonderful and about $100 brand new.

This is known as a twin tub washing machine in South Africa. Everyone in my family had one of these (granny, my mom, all my aunts). The way we used it was to do a few washes with the same water, starting with whites and moving on to darker colours spin every cycle. Then we'd drain the water, add clean water with fabric conditioner and do a rinse cycle and spin every load twice before hanging washing out so dry. It takes a long time but the consensus is that these machines wash laundry better than automatic machines. We don't do washer/dryer units. I use an automatic washing machine but still hang laundry out to dry. We're blessed with awesome weather year round. We do have major water shortages in South Africa, especially in Cape Town so twin tub washing machines are a more viable option these days again.

I remember my mother's Kenmore wringer washer. She also washed several loads with the same water, starting with white clothes and moving into darker clothes. She would run the clothes through the wringer and set them in a wash tub. After washing, she would drain out the dirty water and put in fresh water for rinsing. After the washing/rinsing cycles, the clothes would be hung outside during the summer months, and hung in the basement during the winter months (furnace would be on so that the basement was good and warm). She would run the clothes through the wringer several times to get as much water out of the clothes before hanging them to dry. I was about 15-16 before she purchased an automatic washing machine. I remember wash day was 4-5 hr. day.

It also had a “spin dry” feature. EXACTLY THE SAME !
All my baby diapers were washed in my lovely portable washing machine.
It was efficient enough to do laundry for a family.
I used it in front of my kitchen sink....drained and filled from there. I loved it!

With my portable washer, I am going to purchase a lint ball catcher to place in with the washing. They are pretty cheap (Dollar Tree/Dollar Store, etc...) or you could probably make one (check out Pinterest). You still did good with that one Missy. Awesome!

    • @tundeterez
      @tundeterez 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

baiyinadotcom : My advice would be to keep just only a laundry spinner next to the right side of your sink and when it is time to do your laundry, easy to do it in the bathtub (remember to have an anti-fatigue comfort mat under your knees), easy to rinse and easy to wring out before putting it into the spinner. Then just hang your clothes to dry in the shower or just put a portable dryer next to your sink instead of the spinner :) This method is really fast when you become proficient, I hope you try it because it really will save you a lot of time and effort :)

Love when small things bring such joy. I’m happy just watching it. I’ve been looking at these but I thought they would be like a kiddie toy. So glad I watched this bc this really did impress me. It’s quite powerful. This is a dream machine vs dragging everything to a sketchy laundromat. Especially bc I work odd hours and so I might find myself at the laundromat at 1am, and I’d rather throw my clothes away and buy new ones then be at the laundromat at 1am.

Love twin tubs... 😊. Some tips: I had a twin tub (Australian term) for many years- mine lasted over 25 years. ...refilling every load is unnecessary, too much work and time refilling etc... these machines are designed for water saving, you can do 3 or four wash loads with one lot of water. Start with whites, then lights, then colors and then darks spinning them as you go... ... the water does get a bit darker per load - so it’s a personal preference how many loads you do... you also save on soap as each new load does not need more soap.. You just spin the soapy load with spin drain hose into the main tub... place each soapy spin load into a wash basket till all loads are done. Then empty tub, refill with clean water and start your rinsing in same order they were washed. You can be washing or rinsing AND spinning at same time. You can choose to let the rinse spin water down the loo and just keep topping up the tub to prevent frothing. Your whole washing chore is done in less than 1 hour... you can even use your bath water for sheets and towels or real dark or dirty loads... just bucket it over... I even used a bucket in my shower to catch water and used it for washing or loo flushing. These are the best water saving things ever.... to prevent spin noise, press load down hard first to ensure weight balance. Awesome bargain!!! 😊

These are so common in the part of London I lived in the 80s and I still miss mine to this day as I could rinse and spin anything I wanted. Now my fancy machines tell ME what I can do, not the other way around. Oh how the tables have turned. Took your style quiz... New Traditional - so knew it, but fun to confirm! Normally I just close the window when I have to give my email to get whatever, but because it was you, and you're so darn likable I went ahead... I never do that, but you seem like a great lady. Wish I could afford you! Maybe if I bought more stuff from your fun and quirky sources, I could! Fun videos, and best part, I agree with you... which makes you a genius in my eyes, LOL! xo

You can get automated washing machines from Magic Chef and Haier that are smaller than a typical washing machine, but that is a regular machine unlike this one. you can also get mini dryers that are standard voltage (US), just vent outside to a window, and drain the washing machine to a sink, toilet or bathtub. I had a Panda Washer for nearly a year and the Haier machine is a much better buy - even though a little more in cost up front.

Because he couldn't locate the manual your excellent video was just the ticket. Looks easy to use and very convenient for the small apartment as I'm now in. Looking forward to using it instead of the laundromat as I've been doing for last several years. Thanks for the run-thru.

I want to thank you for the great video about this washer. It really helped me. I just bought one on Amazon and did my first load and it is a God send! It is light enough for me to handle and I did fill with a bucket which is faster and easier for me. It did a great job and I just hung up my shirts and undies! Thanks again for taking the time to make the video. Donna

Hi just wanted to offer some advice you mentioned you had low water pressure from your sink it’s not the pressure it is the water restrictors in your faucet where the hose connects to the faucet that piece can come off by unscrewing it with a pair of pliers if you decide to take it off look in it when you take it off you will see some plastic pieces those are the water restrictors they slow the water pressure now take that piece you took off to your local Home Depot or Loews and find one identical to it meaning it has the same threads as the one you took off when you get back home remove the plastic pieces from the new one by taking the black rubber washer out first then pushing up from the bottom until all plastic pieces are out then put the black washer back in flush now screw the new one back onto your faucet by hand and you will see a very big difference in how the water comes out now keep your original one intact just in case you want to switch back. By the way great find I have the panda model myself. If there is any questions you need answered just ask me. P.S. it’s not hard at all to do what I explained.

Use no posthaste laundry soap, no fragrance, colors and you can use the drain water as gray water, for plants, for washing your next load... also, you can drain your water into your bathtub!!! You may have to clean the tub with a quick spritz, but so worth it!

Can't believe I've just spent 12 minutes watching this video. The reason was use to have the same model when I lived in Thailand for several years. Warning the one I had started giving electric shocks strange as it's mostly made from plastic but it was kept out side and a rodent could of chewed a wire maybe. When I returned to the UK l baught a similar model and had no problems and for the price a spinner alone costs more than this twin tub washer. Respect it and I'm certain this machine will lasts for many years in the Far East most family's have this type of light plastic twin tub washing machine the alternative was washing in a river, so not a great choice, ha ha.😊

Love your bathroom - you are beautiful - and I found one like this, used ONCE for $75, I live in small cabin and go next door to use daughters washer/dryer - which is a BIG PAIN. I have small loads and other than my linens/towels, which I don't have piles of waiting around, this is ideal. I go pick it up this week and I'm so excited. Walking next door doing laundry is an all day process. We Americans are so spoiled with convenience, I rather love this idea of saving water/electricity and can hang my clothes next to the wood stove and us my fan also. THANK YOU for this awesome demonstration.

Nice video! It is hard to beat that price. I walked into the laundry mat at Buckley AFB in the RV Fam Camp and one Della was sitting there with a free sign. Seems everything works. These are great for RV boondocking and at only 100 watts they can be used with an inverter, battery, and a couple solar panels. Thanks for the kool video hon! In a month I will be headed to Quartsite AZ in my RV to attend the Rubber Tramp Rondevue and this will come in handy there.

Well I hope it is still fab for you girl! Your grateful excited enthuiasm for something alot of us take for granted is contagious! I thought the other side was a dryer. So where do you dry your things? We have had many flustercluster messes in our house. Was 3 adults and 3 kids and sometimes up to 13 pets! Aarrggghhh! Washers have died then driers then dishwasher and a/c and the roof...well you get it. I used to do most of our wash because I live in basement with the l.room. I am gramma btw. I have hand washed hung outside-hung inside-run to laundromat and all dfferent fam members...good on you! What a price! I have missed thrift and yard sale shopping for a long time. Been ill plus car issues. But we all loved to do that. Plus there is a ton of stuff to give away now. Kids. Outgrow almost everything...TY for sharing! Have a great evening.😎✌🛁🚿
