6 episodes / week ist totally fine. In a few hundred episodes when the pacing drops quite dramatically because of padding and 7 minute recaps you might wanna reconsider maybe ^^
@@heck6757 Maybe it was a bit overexaggerated but not much. In Arlong park the tilte card is around 3min in, in episode 270 (just randomly looked up by me) it is 6:30 min in.
Trying not to give spoilers, just discussion. Yeah. In this series, when they say strongest, they really do mean it. Most of the time. There are a few characters that are just talking out of their asses, but that's par for the course. But in general, if someone is stated as being strong, they are. Usually more than is originally let on, in fact. Mihawk here is impressive, but you haven't seen what he's capable of against an actual threat. You're not going to see him again for a while, but he only gets more impressive when you do. A note though, which I've seen a couple of other people in the comments address already, is that the subtitles are miss-quoting a bit here. That's a problem which comes up once in a while, mainly due to how many different competing English translations have been made for the series. Mihawk is recognized as the strongest swordsman in the world, but not the strongest man in general. That's... someone else, currently. But in terms of sword based combat, Hawkeye is stronger and more skilled than anyone else currently sailing the seas. Special note: Yes. It will, in fact, leave a fucking mark. One of the things I like about this series is that injuries have lasting consequences. They don't just poof and disappear the next episode. (well, major ones anyway. Little stuff still tends to get forgotten about.) Zoro's going to have that scar for the rest of his life.
To this day, we still havent seen the limits of Mihawks power, and remains to be the Strongest Swordsman and one of the strongest & mysterious characters in One Piece.
Hawk Eye is still one of the most powerful characters in one piece. While there are a handful of others that are at his level or even slightly exceeding it they are all either immensely powerful monsters or have massively powerful abilities. Regardless of that Hawk Eye is still easily in the top 10 strongest characters even after 20 years.
The fact he's even doing 6 a week is pretty awesome. Editing them takes a lot of time and I don't want him to get burnt out on it from overworking himself.
Thanks for having this kind of reaction. It sure takes me back to the times when I also felt how you feel right now 😁 Here's to more goosebumps and story twists
I'm so glad you're watching One Piece and found a schedule that works for you. The way you're watching it is fine for now, though if you ever think you ought to skip filler episodes just to speed things along, you can always ask us which episodes you should watch. Krieg doesn't have a history with Zeff, Zeff was just an infamous pirate that Krieg has heard of. Also, Nami's holding the wanted poster from a few episodes ago, the one for someone named "Arlong"... That'll be important, especially in regards to where Nami went. It's also important to know that Don Krieg only cares about his men in terms of how they give strength to his overall crew. He needs his men to be a powerful pirate. Otherwise, they're completely expendable, especially if they don't follow his orders. You seem a little confused by that comment about the East Blue being "the weakest of the seas". Koby touched on this back in episode 3, but basically the world is divided into four seas by a massive continent known as the Red Line and the sea current known as the Grand Line, those four seas are called the North Blue, the South Blue, the West Blue, and the East Blue, the East Blue being where the crew currently is right now. In the One Piece world, the East Blue is known for being more peaceful compared to the other sections of the world, which in the eyes of pirates across the world, means it's the weakest and therefore has the weakest pirates. Whether or not that's true, though, is up for debate. I don't know why this translation called him the "strongest man", he's supposed to be the "strongest SWORDSman". There actually IS someone with the title of "strongest man in the world" in One Piece, but we won't see him until much later. Until then, though, Dracule "Hawk-Eyes" Mihawk serves the unique function of not so much showing what the Grand Line is like, but rather what the strongest of the Grand Line has to offer. He basically helps illustrate how, even though Luffy and Zoro seem strong now, they still have a LOOOOOONG way to go before they can truly accomplish their goals. I also believe this is one of the few times in which Zoro cries in this show, his loss to Mihawk is an incredibly important and impactful moment for his character. Sanji's words about how "easy" it is to give up your "ambition" is something he'll go through during this arc, not just from Zoro, but Luffy as well. Lastly, Krieg's a flipping idiot to try and take on Mihawk after he just wiped the floor with Zoro, AND took down Krieg's 50 ships all on his own. Krieg just has such a conceited view of himself that he can't accept that there are people stronger than him.
In One Piece the big players appear early on and remain strong throughout the whole story. It's nice to see the main characters try to catch up to them :)
Funny how you said six years! I started watching one piece around 10 yrs ago but decided to watch it again to be able to understand it more 6 years ago XD just enjoy the journey!
As I remember, the reason Mihawk sliced Krieg’s ship was because they woke him up from his nap... kind of like disturbing a vampire as he slumbers. I think Zeff was the one who pointed it out sans the stuff about vampires. I just thought it fits his theme as a vampire (crosses and his coffin ship)
978 chapters in. Mihawks power still not clearly defined and everyone arguing constantly about it! Have fun AJ Rich getting further into the story!! Stay strong and don't give up on One Piece!
I am a simple man, I see Op and AJ i drop a like. Here's the thing, in OP world "reputation" is everything. That is the reason Luffy is seen as weak by his opponents, since he has no rep. Zorro is known so he is perceived as stronger by strangers then luffy. This will of course change, when Luffy gets a bit more fame. For now, "world's greatest swordsman" is the 2nd highest title that was shown, only second to the Pirate King, that will change too in time ;) Tldr, reputation in OP world is everything.
I really love how Oda uses Mihawk here to show a depiction of the upper echelons of the One Piece world. We don't know, at this point, the ceiling and Mihawk here is showing us that the ceiling is so much higher than we all originally thought. It's ingenious that it shows us the the potential upper limit of the show, while at the same time preventing too much power upscaling problems like in DBZ.
Oh yeah Mihawk is a pretty chill dude all things considered. He is just tired of asshats challenging him with no chance in hell of winning and won't be disrespected. Zoro however showed potential and thus earned the honor of tasting his sword. On that note his sword's name is Yoru, which translates to Night. Its one of the 12 top swords in the world. Though you'll learn more about sword grades in later episodes. So I'll save any big explanations for later. Also something to keep in mind that you didn't comment on during the video. Mihawk states that the East Blue, where the crew currently are, is the weakest of the four seas. This is an important piece of world building. Since even a powerhouse pirate thats considered the 'ruler' of the East Blue like Don Krieg is a weakling compared to successful pirates from the North, South or West blues.
It is still pretty fast. Don't worry, sooner than you think you'll be at a point you feel you've lived so much adventures watching this. We are is the most nostalgic song I've ever heard due to that
You know what's great about Mihawk? 20 years have passed since his first appearance, hundreds of characters were introduced... but he is STILL the world's strongest swordsman. Isn't that a pretty rare case?
In the One Piece world "strongest" means strongest, because Hawk Eye never prentends to be the strongest, that's what his reputation is because of what he accomplished.
"I don't know if I can call Mihawk a villain". Yeah. He's not. He's a character with his own motivations and ideals. You can't just label him as that. You could call him an antagonist for Zoro, but he's not even really that? He doesn't so much stand in opposition to Zoro, he's Zoro's "goal", functioning as a motivator and a target to reach. He's clearly not hostile towards him, and even expects great things from him.
"I'll never be defeated again! Until the day I defeat him and become a master swordsman! I'll never be defeated! Got any problems with that?!" is one of those moments that stick with you in this series. And there are many more to come!
One thing I love about one piece is that they make it clear that there are people out there much stronger and more experience than the main characters by letting them lose from time to time
This is went One piece starts doing its World Building from now on you will learn something new about the world of One Piece in every arc. This is the start when One Piece become the greatest

@@thedarkknight9193 yeah it's definitively as epic today as it was at the time.
But why here tho?
mobïus helldoctor
It came in my mind at that moment, I love LOTR too.
@@thedarkknight9193 yeah lot is good, more of a Star Wars fan but once again WHY
6 episodes / week ist totally fine.
In a few hundred episodes when the pacing drops quite dramatically because of padding and 7 minute recaps you might wanna reconsider maybe ^^
Im at arlong park rn, and your telling me later in the series there are gonna be 7 minute recaps???
@@heck6757 Maybe it was a bit overexaggerated but not much.
In Arlong park the tilte card is around 3min in, in episode 270 (just randomly looked up by me) it is 6:30 min in.
Sanji and Luffy are my favourite character ❤️
there are too many favorite charaters in OP, I just fuck it and fav them all
Come on bro Sanji from the anime. He is kind of a repeated joke at best.
Mihawk is an amazing character i love him and he's a fan favorite in the community
If Hawk Eye decided to he could end Luffy's crew and they couldn't do anything to stop him.
Hey, Milk happens to have well known tooth restoring properties!
@@Devonimp I was just about to mention that xD
@@Devonimp Also heals skull fractures
you play persona right?
zoro vs mihawk this early, is like facing the reaper at level 2.
"Thats gonna leave a scar". Oh yes. Hahaha
Finally ... My favourite character ever
I can't believe the disrespect some people put on his title.
Not even the manga readers know about Mihawk's true power.
I understand the sentiment of doing two at a time, but maybe you could do three each Saturday or something
The fact he's even doing 6 a week is pretty awesome. Editing them takes a lot of time and I don't want him to get burnt out on it from overworking himself.
Thanks for having this kind of reaction. It sure takes me back to the times when I also felt how you feel right now 😁
Here's to more goosebumps and story twists

@@thedarkknight9193 XD man noone's gonan get that one
Rich, you're going at a good pace. Keep appreciating the journey and enjoying it! I'm glad you're able to bring in 6 episodes a week!
You react a lot. You put it a lot of work and you have quality content. Keep up the hardwork I'll be here to support all I can
Your pace for now is perfect, not too slow not too fast , I'm really enjoying your reactions
Mihawk is not wearing a cowboy hat, he is wearing a french musketeer hat.
3:25 Normal and size does not go together in One Piece 🤣
That fight remembered me of the scene where Shaltear fought with Brain Unglaus using his pinky finger nail
15 years and this is still my favorite series.
18:23 Mihawk could use a butterknife...
for Mihawk, that little Dagger is more like a Toothpick...
“ Don Krieg the Strongest man “. Me: BrUh
Finally you reached one of the best moments of One piece , after this episodes you will like and respect Zoro more than ever
"Hawk Eye" is actually not his real name but his nickname. Every strong character in One Piece has a nickname, it's kind of a tradition.
16:50 “does Zoro stand a chance?” Me laughing my ass off: Ahahahahahahaha not a fucking chance!!!
Just thinking of a certain family from the north blue ;)
Ahhhhhhh! Why did he cut the part when Zoro said "Got any problem with that? Pirate King"
Hawkeye is a perfect measuring stick for the series after 900+ episodes we still don’t truly know how strong he is
i am rewatching this with you even though i have seen almost all of them
It is still pretty fast. Don't worry, sooner than you think you'll be at a point you feel you've lived so much adventures watching this. We are is the most nostalgic song I've ever heard due to that
I cant wait for you to see so many things in the story!!! You will love it every day more and more!!^^
The thing about One Piece I love is that when people have a title they usually back it up unlike the cliche spineless big shots in most anime.
"Cowboy!" sorry, we were looking for "musketeer" XD
He is to this date still the strongest swordsman, so One Piece is out of the norm on this one.
I am usually only here for your one piece reactions... they give me quarantine joy...
You know what's great about Mihawk?
20 years have passed since his first appearance, hundreds of characters were introduced...
but he is STILL the world's strongest swordsman. Isn't that a pretty rare case?
You probably started at the perfect time. You'll be caught up right about the time episode 1000 airs, which is kind of cool.
AJ: "this is not just a typical thug or villain.."
ME: IKR. :) wait what episode are we? :D
See the remastered version of this fight in a film. Maybe you can even find the fight itself on youtube. The remastered version is so epic
In the One Piece world "strongest" means strongest, because Hawk Eye never prentends to be the strongest, that's what his reputation is because of what he accomplished.
So happy that you're watching this and keeping a good pace! Keep it up!
Basicly caling him a villain is caling Kuina a villain, because they are(were) Zoros goal to surpass them
Facts 💯
"I'll never be defeated again! Until the day I defeat him and become a master swordsman! I'll never be defeated! Got any problems with that?!" is one of those moments that stick with you in this series. And there are many more to come!
"What happened ?"
"Nothing. Nothing happened"
But its not true. Enel, Perona, Sabaody,
Mihawk never claimed to be the strongest. Everyone did
One thing I love about one piece is that they make it clear that there are people out there much stronger and more experience than the main characters by letting them lose from time to time
This is a good one! Keep up the good work
Nooo my fav part was cut! Zoro saying "Got a problem with that... King of Pirates?!"
from here on out, it gets better and better
after so many years seeing Mihawk flaot into the scene like G is still so fucking awesome
Mihawk is just awesome, keep up to the 900's for more legendary people and adventures
This is went One piece starts doing its World Building from now on you will learn something new about the world of One Piece in every arc. This is the start when One Piece become the greatest
This is an example of how smart Oda can be. Literally starting Arlong park and we still are not even 1 inch in this arc. Well played Oda. Well played.
