I'll give you a helpful tip about the tent. Don't let anything touch the sides (like your sleeping bags appear to be) this will keep your tent drier inside when it rains. Also get a can of water repellent spray like Camp Dry or Scotchgaued and spray the outside of the tent every 2-3 months. We have camped for years and these 2 tips really help. Congratulations, Eureka tents are great.
Looks like you found a beautiful spot to camp and catch up on repairs and maintenance. Watching your channel has become a Sunday night ritual here. Thanks for Sharing!
It’s spring here in the Pacific Northwest, the rain is slowing down, time to get my old Goldwing back on the road for camping adventures. These videos inspire me😊
I’m glad to see you “resimplified” back to two wheels and a tent. I might have said that before? But it bears repeating. As the fellow used to say as “Hill Street Blues” was going off the air, “Good dog, Ubu!” 😏 Courtesy of Half Vast Flying
I have a great respect for you both tent camping full time. A friend and I just returned from a five day ride to Tennessee in which we tent camped. Setting up and tearing down every day or two, in addition to long day rides wears you down. I am a few years older than Chris but she seems like she is full of energy all of the time. Safe travels.
You all are living the life people dream of. Doing what you want to when you want to.I love watching your videos. I ride a HDHERATIGE 2002.I would love to be able to ride like you can. I ride the blue ridge parkway and to the beach as often as I can .Be careful and keep 2wheels down. Maybe we could meet one day.
A very good addition to Superglue is baking soda, you can mold shapes and do amazing repairs with a combination of Superglue reinforced with baking soda, it’s part of my repair toolbox.
We schlepped aEureka Timberline with the vestibule around the US back in the late 70’s for 3 weeks at a time each summer. I still have the tent and it’s still usable.
I'm surprised you're not sleeping on Helinox cots. My youngest son had to have one because he couldn't sleep on the ground. The first place we used them was boondock camping in the mountains outside of Pahrump, Nevada in a downpour and even though the water flowed through our tents we were high and dry during the nasty, lightening, stormy night. Good to see Rich working on the Road Glide even though I ride a poor man's Moto Guzzi.
I just returned from a 3400 mile road trip from Nevada to Texas and back. Weathers getting to be a bit brisk in the mountains of Arizona and New Mexico. Things went well except for 2 flat trailer tires within an hour of each other. I did discover the bedroll pack that I created was not sufficient for the temperatures I encountered. Back to the drawing board on that. Had a few bike problems to overcome so some maintenance days in the near future. I need new clutch and front brake lever bushings so my cruise control can set and stay set. Probably a new right handlebar switch cluster. The starter button headlight cutout doesn’t always release permitting my headlights to come on after starting. My big radio speakers aren’t working. They died and every now and then come back on for a few seconds before dying again. That’s going to require more troubleshooting. So many problems that, for a moment, I thought I was back on my Harley instead of my Goldwing. 😂😂😂
I really like Lander Wy. If you’re still there, you should try The Middle Fork restaurant. The Holiday Lodge has camping around back by the creek, convenient spot to explore town. The Lodge has showers and laundry (was $10 to camp last time I stayed). The city park has free camping too.
Good morning Chris. Congratulations on creating another excellent video with superb production values. Not surprising however - from a strong self sufficient and creative woman such as yourself. Thanks for sharing a tour of your life as a motorcycle camper such as yourself . 🌹🌹😉😉😉😉
I camped at a KOA in Wapakanetta, OH last June, and I was the only person camping. I asked the owners why, and they said $5 a gal gas was the main reason. The park was almost full with RV’s and full time summer campers, but they said the high fuel prices are hitting young families hard, as expected. The RV’rs were mostly retired and on fixed incomes that did t effect them as much.
My Dad couldn't work out how to brake a modern day pushbike (no break lever on handle bars) going down hill, so he had to use his foot with flip flop on. He burnt out all the rubber on flip flop trying to stop!
You can never tell if there's a smart bike riding bear in the area...seen a few open car doors and get it....didn't hang out long enough to see if they drove off....Hugggzzz yall I started using loctite super glue, may be better & for plastic repair I use reg. JB Weld epoxy.
Nice to get a break from the hot weather. Repair day was fun I know. Feel good once it’s done. I see ya at least going back to a small trailer Richard can pull. I’m trying to downsize to the Rack that fits where my trailer hitch is. For now I still pull my trailer with the bike to camp. Ride safe.
that is one big tent! beautiful area to camp. man, it's good you know how to work on the bike, that looks like a massive under taking. i ride the Honda Rebel, easy to maintain, but i still find it frustrating to work on it, but it does save me 165.00 dollars an hour. love that night sky. can't remember when i have seen a sky like that. be safe, enjoy the wild west.
Hey are you back traveling on MCs and tents ? Hope so. I stoped watching when RVs trucks and trailers was the lifestyle. If so, welcome back ! the Harley back also ? Way cool !
@@TwoWheelsBigLife way cool ! Tell Richard my old 2010 touring HD got retired for 2022 FLTRK last week. wow Hd making awesome bikes now.!! I have an RV also, but it just stays parked and I live in it..between MC travels
I swapped the air temperature indicator for a motor oil temperature indicator. Much more useful. Actually I can’t read either of them from the riding position but I have an idea what the temp is while riding. Thanks for the video!😎👍
Much easier to take fairings on and off on the bike is on a center stand, obviously you don’t have one but, if you did it would be much much easier to reinstall when the bike is actually level like when it’s on us understand, they are kind of a pain in the butt
the answer Richard question the newer fairs have been greatly improved on had my 2020 off to install the hidden radio antanna and just watched a TH-cam video .
Question: my concern, have you ever had to do a lock up stop on hwy or quick evasive move ,towing trailer ?? iv always considered towing a sleeper trailer behind road glide.. but thats my issue
The one we have is out of production. And it’s over 2 years old and has lost a lot of efficiency. I don’t recommend anything at the moment they are all very inefficient
@@TwoWheelsBigLife I’m between the Baldr 120w and the Rockpals 100w both got good reviews ! Probably gonna pull the trigger in the next two days as Amazon has some dealios! It's not the riding but the camping I'm too old for these days. One of my knees acts up and the squatting in and out of the tent (I'm 6'4") is just too hard, especially on those midnight trips. It's been great vicariously camping with you,!
@@michaelreid2329 yes,a bad knee keeps me from ground sleeping .thinking about a cargo trailer to pull.i can use it to sleep and camp in AND haul the bike

Chris, your calming voice and detail description of all things makes this channel in my opinion
I use J B Weld 2 part epoxy for plastic for plastic repairs I've found it quite strong.
Great for metal parts.

Wyoming has amazing places to camp! I lived there for 25 years and spent most summers up in the Snowy Range camping and riding trails on our KTMs

PS The oil temp indicator is a kit from Harley parts catalog. I have a 2004 Electra Glide.
Great job on the fairing! There is a loctite product (4011) not 411. That will mend abs plactic. It is ~$30 a bottle, but works.
Thank you for sharing your adventures.

The solar panel is making shade behind it.
Blew out my flip flop, stepped on a pop top, cut my heel and had to cruise on back home! Sorry just had to!

Would love a center stand. But I got it
I don't recall ever using a water pump like that. Most of the ones that I have used have more of a traditional look. How common is that type of pump?
Glad you have water!

All I can say is thank God for super glue and jb weld! Just wish jb weld would set up quicker.
Your actions camera problems can be-cured by using a DJI action 4 camera.Much better long-term use esp connecting to tripods and other mounting gear.
You guys need to bring the trailer back....
Random question for Rich.
How much did Ruby weigh when it was all packed up?
Right at 500lbs total
👍
It's so pretty!

Hi chris are you still enjoying the trump or are you missing the gs? Thks
Looks like some Plastic Weld could come in handy in the maintenance bag...
What kind of epoxy did you use for your faring I have a 12 also one of the studs is broken off thanks
I can’t remember what the brand was. But it was a 2 part plastic liquid It hardened solid like a plastic. Hope that helped.
Did you step on a pop top and blow out your flip flop lol?
What happened to the bunkhouse trailer
It’s sold a while back.

The mechanic cut off screws instead of figuring out proper fairing installation! Unacceptable. At least you're happy with his engine work.
Yes. I do have to say it is a tricky fairing. But I was a bit upset at it.

Just love u guys would love to meet up with you some time
Super glue can cure all the problems on this planet. And beyond...???
Nope, duct tape and bailing wire cure all of the planet's problems.
