I really enjoy your vlog. I am thankful I can fast forwaed past the "sounds of makingh coffee". I regret that I couldn't enjoy the end of your video due to "Sounds of making dinner". I look forward to your next vlog.. be safe!
Wow bring back some memories that Keller ferry, did that many moons ago🤓. We are just north from where you were in Bc,love to ride hwy 20 in north cascades too. Beautiful, thanks for taking us along on another part of your journey. 😎🏍💨💨💨💨👍🏻🇨🇦
One of the things I appreciate about both of you is that you take it as it comes.. When things are less than perfect, you don't complain and quit, but you take it as part of the adventure, and maintain a positive attitude (as much as possible). IF everything went well and according to plan, then it's not much of an adventure.
You guys live what I can only dream of. My wife’s MS keeps us tied to our toy hauler, and on 3 wheels, but we are still out there! 3 trips planned for 2023 so far!!
Frank here. Smoke does the job. Some years ago I was taught about tamping back those m'skeeters by making a smudge pot. You start a fire with sticks, leaves, pine needles, pine cones. You add larger pieces of wood of course and then WET materials as above plus wet green grass, moss, sticks, leaves. These wet materials cause tremendous billowing smoke permeating the entire camping area that tends to hover. Sure you choke a bit. Your clothes smell & stink of the smudge pot fire, but wala!!! Your bugs fly away to a region far from you. Try it you'll like it. WELL, maybe you won't like it, but neither will those pesky critters and those bumps on your head will be a thing of the past. .
We rode it on bike trip in July 2018 it was full. Then we had five bikes. There were motor homes and cars with us. On our way to stay in Bonners Ferry Idaho then to Canada.
great video. beautiful scenery/camp set up. i can relate to the sun coming up above the mountains. i was hitch hiking, and got stuck on I-10 in New Mexico. it gets light, but it takes 2 more hours for the sun to appear.. well stay safe.
I was hoping you guys were going to make an announcement about why you are not using the truck and camper anymore. It was like the Great River Road tour…it seemed to end without a reason as to why. Well, I did the great River Road tour from Minnesota to Illinois and stopped there…the Diftless was incredible! Someday, I’ll finish the southern route.
I visited a friends ranch. They have two pet goats. I came outside and each goat had a front turn signal in their mouths. They had this look like "I'm not doing what you think". I was at the beginning of a 3500 mile trip. I used Gorilla tape to reattach my turn signals and it kept them on 6 months until I was able to obtain new signals. I carry a roll of it with me all the time now, along with one of folding tool implements (not swiss).
I so enjoyed this video a lot and your both such a delight. Your guys are so lucky to have each other, enjoying life and riding together. Thank you very much for sharing. Stay safe and I will keep watching.
We live just south of Hiway 20 and ride it 2-3 times a year. One of the best rides in the state. Wish you had shown a little bit of Twisp and Winthrop as you went thru. Great little towns. It’s closed for the winter now so, already looking forward to opening week next year. If you come thru again we’d love to host you for a night in our home. Ride safe and we hope you enjoy the San Juan islands.
THats really a beautiful place to ride did it in 2021. keep posting the videos. you're keeping our spirits up since we have pretty much been grounded this year. travel safe.
Enjoyed another adventure as I'm looking at 18" of snow. No mosquitos outside here.!! Had to eat inside also or get covered with snow. I have ferried rivers many times. The small ones are a little shakey but fun. 👍👍🏍🏍🏍❄🙋♂️
Beautiful scenery of Diablo Lake & totally understood weekend rides with camping in cooler weather (MN), now in Northern Houston area 39° this morning and topped off at 52° been feeling under the weather. Thank you Chris and Rich for making my day!❤🏍 Hope those masqetoes left you be at night Chris (🤗 "WindSister"). Love your channel and adventure on the road, makes me miss my riding buddy/significant other. Keep positive, strong and loving each other. Peace and safe travels on the road to more excellent adventures 🏍👍
I grew up in that country you should have rode through Republic old west town but you already rode through Winthrop ice cream on the corner my old stomping grounds
Brought back some great memories of our trip along that route on our way to Vancouver Canada from our home town of Calgary. Maybe next summer you'll make it all the way to Canada!
Highway 20 is one of my husband's and mine favorite rides. We try to get there at least once during the year (before they close it for the season). It's beautiful in the spring, summer and fall. Wasn't Mt. Washington overlook just the best! and Lake Diablo! WOW!!! SOOO BEAUTIFUL! I love my state! It's packed on the weekends because the road is open from May to October so we got to get in our rides. And you almost got Tulalip right. It's OK! Everyone has a hard time with some of our unique towns. Just enjoy the beauty that is Washington. That road is a blast! If you do that road again, stop in Winthrop and Twisp. Cute little towns.
I really enjoy your blogs. You talk through and explain what your seeing and tell some history about the places. You even talk while riding and explain what your seeing as you go along. I like that you wing it with where you are going as that is the way my wife and i did when we were traveling long distance. We don't do much traveling by motorcycle these days and just do a day ride here and there. We never did the camping seen and usually stayed in the mom and pop motels. I thank you for doing what your doing and the blogs. You two are living my dream that i can't do because of physical things so again thanks for the videos.
Great to see you guys in WA. If you get back to this area, you may want to ride the Rattlesnake 400, very enjoyable ride. Avon Skin So Soft works great to keep the mosquitos off.
Chris, you need to put on a wool hat to keep your head warm and ward off the mosquitoes when in Washington State. It's beautiful in those mountains but also a bit rugged. Your showing it all! Thanks for Sharing! P.S. Happy Thanksgiving where ever you are.
Welcome to our neck of the woods! We follow your travels every week and love you guys! Thanks for your hard work. By the way it’s Tulalip, pronounced Too-Lay’-lip. Our native places are a challenge to visitors all the time.
Hey Rich. Just saw the video from last week. Loved it. Great scenery. One issue……..dude, that chicken. You unwrapped it and scrunched up the wrapper then started touching stuff, opening the zipper on your stove etc. Yuck!
I usually heat my coffee inside the tent the stove will heat up the tent. Just dont get the flame close to the tent walls its fine. 👍👍 ps if you burn a hole in the tent wall duct tape will fix it lol 😃👍👍
First I want to say I really like your videos and watch them all the time. I was wondering what year and how many miles for miss Alice, I have a 2010 ultra classic with 44000 miles but only 7000 on fresh rebuild with up grade from 96 to 103 love it her name is Mary Jane I don’t partake just like the song. You all keep livin my dream.
Hey guys love the manual reverse. One of my favourite rides is using the ferry crossing on the many waterways. Will you ever go back to towing a trailer behind Richard's bike? Safe ride cheers Dave
On November 8, 2022 the Washington State DOT closed the North Cascade Highway for the winter. It is closed in winter due to avalanche risk. During the spring clearing the WSDOT may find snow depths of up to 80 feet where the road crosses some of the avalanche chutes. It usually takes about six weeks in the spring and heavy equipment to clear and repair the road. I was a little surprised that you didn't spend some time videoing in Winthrop WA.
Hey Chris, I was just looking at your GoPro set up on the bike and notice you have cables coming from the camera, what are those do you have it powered off the bike.
One of the things I appreciate about you to is that it’s y’all out there doing this and not me. One week motorcycle adventures are work. 2 year long motorcycle adventures are certifiable. Not in a good way.
Seems yall had some moist mornings Always rubbed candle wax on my zippers...even works on brass pants zippers. Beautiful spots yall visited. If yall spray your clothes with permethrin SFR (Repels ticks & chiggers)a few times a year bugs won't bother you....I even use vicksvaporub behind my ears when skeeters get thick.
Washington State is an area I’ve been hoping you would tour for sometime, we’ve friends in Vancouver who have said it’s a nice area with some great biking roads.
Not sure when you were there but I’m browsing Google Maps and it shows a fair stretch of i20 closed from just West of where the campground is and a little bit East would that be due to Snow at this time of the year 22/22/11
Did I miss something in your videos? I thought you bought a travel trailer and were setting base camp and then riding short distances? I watch all your videos but don’t remember if there was a change or I just missed it.
@@SuperHddeuce ; She had a BMW GS1250, but traded it in for a 900 Triumph. Something a bit lighter. Richard was riding a 1250 BMW as well for a season, but opted to go back to his Harley.

Yep got to hang with the Kids over Thanksgiving.
now I'm curious. How many week delay are you two uploading on? Its snowy and cold where you're at on November 20th.
It’s timeless. It’s part of our travels this last summer
Isn’t it snowing up there this time of year?
