I had the most amazing dilation my doctor has ever seen. Btw, this is my first child. So, I just gave birth this Saturday 25/07/20 to a beautiful baby girl. I ate everyday 7 dates for the last 2 months of pregnancy AND I drank red raspberry leaf tea in the last month. So, my water broke around 18:00. I started feeling mild, easy to cope, contractions at 19:00 that were ALREADY 10 to 7 minutes apart. I went to the hospital and At 20:00 I was having somewhat stronger contractions and was 1 cm dilated. At 22:00 I was having really, really, REALLY strong contractions that were very close apart. I got the analgesia at 22:30 with 4 cm Dilation.. 1 and a half hour after getting the anestesia the doctor went to check how dilated I was and I was 10 cm dilated. Yes, after 1 hour and 30 minutes I went from 4 cm to 10 cm and she could even feel the baby’s hair that how low my baby already was. And At 2:22 she was born! No tearing. So happy! Try dates and this tea mommas!
FTM 38+6 and I’ve been drinking red raspberry leaf tea since the beginning of my third trimester but this is the first time I’ve heard of dates! Will add it to the shopping list for the husband to pick up!
I've been diagnosed with gestational diabetes but what i am doing to have dates is, I eat 3 large dates as evening snack and check my sugar levels 1 hour post that and thankfully my levels be fine sitting at the border line. I've heard so much about dates and it is even mentioned in our holy book so not skipping this 😊 will start rasberry leaf tea as well.. bdw i'm 35 weeks pregnant
I had to use forceps, my daughter's head was larger and I had been laboring for an extended period of time. Definitely not what I wanted but my water broke without ever having contractions. Using pitocin led to needing an epidural which led to the forceps. Was not as bad as I thought it would be considering natural was what I wanted. Wouldn't trade it for the world!
27 years ago, in Spain, my mother found a doctor that agreed on putting my mother on general anesthesia and deliver my sister with vacuum. It was a healthy pregnancy no complications, 3rd child, but my mother didn't want to suffer. I can't believe that procedure was done to my mother, luckily my sister is perfectly fine but I am trying to explain my mother that she took a huge risk.
(وَهُزِّي إِلَيْكِ بِجِذْعِ النَّخْلَةِ تُسَاقِطْ عَلَيْكِ رُطَبًا جَنِيًّا ، فَكُلِي وَاشْرَبِي وَقَرِّي عَيْنًا) these are two verses of the Holy Qur’an in chapter 19: Maryam, which are said by God to the Virgin Mary during her labor with Jesus and they mean: (And shake towards thyself the trunk of the palm-tree: It will let fall fresh ripe dates upon thee. So eat, of the dates, and drink, from the rivulet, and let your eye be comforted, by the child)

Hey there! Could you make a more directed video on birth with preexisting pelvic organ prolapse? I am 31 weeks pregnant with my 3rd daughter. I formed a prolapsed bladder after the birth of my 2nd daughter. I have found there isn't much information out there about birthing with a prolapse. What are better positions to labor in as well as birth in? Do you see other young mommas with prolapse who have had multiple pregnancies to follow? How does the prolapse effect the birth of your baby, etc.? Thanks!
I appreciate all the content you make for us! Thanks a lot Bridget! I had a surgery very long time ago and they said at that time that my right breast wouldn't produce milk. I'm due in October with my first baby and I wonder if it is enough to breastfeed only with one breast? Do you have any tips to increase its production and avoid any breast problems as I will nurse my baby always with the same breast? Best wishes from Belgium

Try dates split open, a sliver of cream cheese and nut of choice.mmmmmmmmmmmmm The only risk is you're going to want to eat more than you should probably have.lol I like mine with walnuts are pistachios. I am currently 32 weeks pregnant. Any moms that believe in the power of prayer please pray for me. I had a very difficult first labor with my first daughter. Anyway, due to that I have chosen to have a hospital birth this time and they are wanting to induce me at 39 weeks.I guess I have a little bit of PTSD from the first birth so I'm just praying for God's strength to keep my thoughts and fears at Bay. Thanks

Hi Bridget, thanks for the informational video! I’ll be 35 weeks tomorrow, 10/24/22, can I start eating dates now or should I hold off until week 36-37?
Hi Bridget, thanks for your helpful videos! I have one questions about dates please, is there a special way how to eat them? Unfortunately, I don't like the tase and consistence that much, does eating them in a smoothie or another way have the same impact? Thanks a lot in advance, greetings from Luxembourg!
Yup, it's rough for some folks! I believe it's from the increased blood flow and sometimes swelling. 39 weeks and have had it bad, but it's supposed to get better after birth.
Latest development - I've been waking up during the night and in the morning with tingling in the hand opposite of the side I lie on. I saw my chiropractor yesterday, and she said my pectorals are too tight, which is causing decreased blood flow into my extremities. She taught me some stretches to help with it.
Hiii Bridget ... I ate 6 dates soaked in water earlier than you mentioned in this vid i.e.6th month... currently i am in my ninth month of pregnancy... will it have any side effects????... up until now everything has been normal for me except for pelvic discomfort on waking up in morning
This was very informative, thanks! 😊🙏🏼 I would love a video on Braxton-Hicks. I started having them very close together (5-15 min) last week and it was quite difficult to find information. Luckily my midwife and OB were very responsive and checked that I wasn't going into early labour, at almost 29 weeks. They're better now but I'm hoping I won't be on bed rest for the next 3 months 🤞
Hi honey, when it comes to braxton hicks, you are looking to gauge consistency over an hour or so. Make sure that you are moving about as sometimes braxton hicks can go away when you move or change positions. Braxton hicks feel like abdominal tightening but real labour contractions can feel achey at the bottom of your tummy and cause back ache too. xxxx

Hi Angel! You can eat dates the whole way through pregnancy. It is not going to have any adverse effects on you or your baby. Towards the end of pregnancy, many women who have never eaten dates much start to eat them as it can help to soften the cervix ready for cervical dilation. It is recommend that from 36 weeks you eat 3 medjool dates or 6 deglet noor dates a day leading up to your baby's birth.
