Had a very similar issue with mine. Follow the torque specs and USE LOCTITE! to torque put a bolt in the rotor(same one used to take rotor off, find at hardware store) and put the bolt head in a vice. Luckily no damage was done to the needle bearing or starter clutch in my case. Good video! 😃

Thanx for a great video. I might have some similar problems on my '87 Suzuki GSX 1100 EF, the starter clutch looks pretty much like yours. I haven't had it disassembled yet, and everything works fine except that it's noisy and, what's worse, very vibration creating. :-| I hope it's the starter clutch, I have a hard time believing it has eaten a main bearing (roller bearing cranks on those bikes).
My 93 zx6 makes a clicking sound but the starter does not turn the engine. I was told that my starter needs to be rebuilt, that is not the same as you are doing ? Or is it. Thanks
Sorry so late on this, I wasn't notified of the comment. YES, there is a special tool you need to purchase in order to get that off, it is a special bolt that goes into the shaft and literally pulls the fly wheel off by pushing it out. Again, sorry it took so long, but I'm sure you figured that out already.
Thanks for posting this video! Helped me pinpoint the problem on my 77 KZ900
